  1. I read a commentary somewhere (can't find it now) where the writer thought, in response to people who think Crowley's demonic status makes Aziraphale regard him as "less than" somehow, that Aziraphale knows perfectly well who Crowley is, that he doesn't want to change him, that he loves Crowley exactly as he is. Perhaps thinking that wouldn't be fundamentally altered were he to be restored to angelic status. I've rewatched that final scene and it reminded me that, when Crowley objects to Aziraphale going back and uses his own refusal to rejoin Hell as an example, Aziraphale says "well of course you refused Hell, you're the bad guys." You're the bad guys. You, Crowley, are a bad guy by association. I can fix that. Sadly, I think that dialogue choice really does mean that Aziraphale thinks Crowley needs to be restored to be good enough.
  2. I hadn't heard this. I can't think of a single person I'd want to see more of. Maybe Taylor.
  3. Wikipedia says chess dates from the 15th century. Isn't Nandor a couple hundred years older than that? He doesn't seem the type to bother learning a new game after two hundred years as a vampire.
  4. That was my take. It's cool that Nandor immediately knew just how to complete Guillermo's transformation (drink human blood) and also how to revert him to human (kill the sire as soon as possible after the turning). But because they hesitated to tell him, they went through all this nonsense all season. It makes sense though, I think Nandor is significantly older than the others, so he's probably seen this all before. I do believe both the 1st two, as well as the last two, were broadcast on the same night. So just 6 weeks in between, that's why it went by so quick. Interesting that a vampire, already undead, can be resurrected as a zombie after its second death.
  5. I think that has to be it. It would make sense for older vampires to be worried about it, but a way to save those just turned. It's unusual to see an original bit of lore that makes sense, kudos to the writers for that.
  6. I think he used vampire hypnosis ("Oh that worked"). Funniest part for me: "Aaannnddd...she joined them."
  7. With the other guy's daughter becoming a Marshall, I hope they're not looking at bringing Willa in as a new Marshall as well. It felt like they were preparing the audience for something like that, and TO gets to keep his daughter not only involved, but in the thick of the action. That would be yuck.
  8. The only reason I can come up with is that the book was missing, and if she closed the murder case people would stop looking for it. Then maybe she would continue to look herself, on the sly, or she would just go through the rest of her career hoping it never surfaced? Flimsy reasoning, anyway.
  9. Well, that elimination has been coming for a long time. At least they were in first place for a bit, that has to feel good. I knew how it was going to go as soon as they said it felt right not to use the pass on anyone, knew it would bite them in the butt. They were entertaining, I'll miss them. In other news, there were several changes in first place over the episode, which was nice to see. Makes it interesting.
  10. I agree that most, if not all, of these characters are unlikeable and unrelatable. In this episode, only Mayer spoke anything close to like a real human being, which instantly made her the most likeable member of the cast in her very first episode. As for Winston, as irritating as he is, between him and our MPC heroes, I was rooting for Winston. Sorry to see these amoral monsters win yet again. ETA: Wags is a sociopath
  11. That was very satisfying. Her "therapy" has always put the company first. I can't remember a single time she put the "patient's" needs first in a conflict. Gotta say, though, Holland Taylor is looking pretty frail. The stunt casting has always been jarring but this was ridiculous. Why the hell would Kareem Abdul Freakin' Jabbar allow himself to be dragged from wherever he lives to give a 5 minute pep talk to some guy he's never met, and probably only heard about (if at all) when Chuck's BDSM kink, or his recent firing, went public? You'd think if he was a friend of one of those other 3 that Chuck would have met him by now. Why the hell would a legend subject himself to that if he wasn't being paid a massive amount of cash for it? Stupid.
  12. Wow that final lipsync was epic! That thing with the ink that Sara had going on was super original. Sara was my favourite going in, but I have to concede that tonight belonged to Keiona. Overall the show was a bit draggy though. They could have cut out one (two?) of the many group numbers. I was pleasantly surprised that Moon came back for the finale (wow that standing ovation), and even moreso that she won Miss Congeniality, even though she had kinda quit the show. I don't think RuPaul would have allowed such a thing on a franchise she hosted. All in all, a pretty satisfying result.
  13. I'm guessing she's motivated by revenge for Sweetie, but she doesn't care that Raylan could get caught in the crossfire? Cold, girl.
  14. J&J have a very laissez-faire approach to the race. It's a little surprising that they're still in it. Clearly more luck than skill or perseverance. I still love them, but I can understand why others might be frustrated. Positive surprise: Deven's dancing ability. He was starting to get a little cocky there lol. Negative surprise: Kayleen's math challenges. They're obviously getting tired.
  15. Is that a real thing, or did they just make that up?
  16. He's not quite as cute as he used to be. Sometimes it seems that the writers are pushing the limits to see how far they can go with their similes and metaphors before some reviewer calls them out and tells them to knock it off. It's just so aggressive. Do they actually want to be obscure to younger viewers? I hate it when the scene is obscured when you pause. Don't these people realize we pause a scene to examine it? The last thing we want is to not be able to see it. If we wanted info we'd push that button instead. I read somewhere that Lewis would be in half the season's episodes, so I think we'll see him again. Corey Stoll sucks. To the first point, this confuses me. Isn't there an extradition treaty between these countries? It's not like Axe would be risking the death penalty if he was returned to face trial. As to the second, the writers will make the point, it's just that we the audience just won't get the reference. 😉 That was stupid. Jeffcoat may be in prison but he was a man of means. If he were allowed to have the boots in prison, he would have got them himself a long time ago. I have always loved Geoffrey Holder's voice. Like buttah.
  17. Am I correct in assuming that, like France, this will not be on Crave in Canada this time around?
  18. Well that was delightful. It's got to be in the top 5 of Drag Race makeover episodes. Sorry to see Piche go, but although it was a close lipsync (of a song that doesn't seem very easy to lipsync to), from what we saw I think Punani just edged her out. Same with the makeover, I think Punani and her rugby player were just a shade more alike. Piche's coming-out (and subsequently being thrown out) story was quite sad though. Man, living in North America where male athletes tend to shun any behaviour that even hints at men having a feminine side, these rugby players were just so refreshing.
  19. Is it weird that I kinda liked Mansell's song?
  20. Aw I liked Sweetie. Actually, I kinda liked Lonnie too. Isn't a kerfuffle botched by definition?
  21. Speaking of, does anyone know what that extra ornamentation is on the chest of her uniform, along with the delta?
  22. Right? One I came across and hadn't thought of, but which I find very intriguing, is that Crowley, adrift without his angel, will take Beelzebub's vacated position, setting up a potential conflict between the two of them.
