  1. It was Irma, not Maria. Irma sideswiped PR on the seventh (and knocked out power in some places, including San Juan). They never mentioned the hurricane's name. ETA: The runway show was on Sept. 8th.
  2. How was she supposed to look when a strong hurricane bigger than the island itself was threatening to make its way across there and she didn't know if her parents could get out? Irma had the potential to do what Maria ended up doing. People with family on those islands were all walking around looking like that and still are, in some cases.
  3. I think it was either 'agarre' or 'agarrar,' which also means having sex/kissing in Spanish slang.
  4. I think there were two different parts to Andrei and Elizabeth's conversation. The first one was the general girls night out - which he said that if it was just her and her girlfriends hanging out and coming home at a reasonable time, he was fine with it. The second part was specifically about the bachelorette party, which she wanted to celebrate with a GNO hitting the clubs and staying out late. That's where the cultural clash came in, because for her, she wanted to do the "American" bachelorette party (not that every woman does it like this, but in that it's something considered normal in general) where she and her friends have one night to celebrate that will be rowdier and later than usual - she clarified that it won't involve "dirty clubs" (strip clubs, I'm assuming), but that she wanted to hit the clubs that night and not have a time that she has to be home. He shut that down quickly, saying that it was stupid and it meant that she was looking for someone that's not her husband-to-be.
  5. Nicole, you could have escaped all that by just saying you'd eat a salad. Andrei killed that interviewer and forged the approvals.
  6. No, it's right. The Hudson River is to the west of Manhattan. The joke is that there is NYC in the center, then the Hudson, NJ, some other cities in the lands west, and then the Pacific. I'm PRican, so I cried seeing the shots of Old San Juan and the flag and people. The hurricane that is coming up is most likely Irma, which skirted the island and knocked out power to a portion of it while NYFW was going on. Maria came later. It's the second reality show this week that had some scenes in PR and it's a jolt when you see a chyron or informational screen that mentions what has happened since then. I'm sick of such muted/redundant color palettes. Margarita went to the other extreme, but I was happy to see color, any color. I wish she had more solids so that it was not every color hitting you at the same time. Ayana for the win, I guess? Meh.
  7. He said something like, "I sleep in the same room with her, I'm not taking any chances." The look on Josh's face when Connor started his Lake House story was hilarious. He switched so quickly from a neutral expression to one of horror.
  8. Way back when I was into Final Fantasy, there was (or is, I think he is still there) a game designer who had an obsession with belts. Almost every character was overloaded with belts. It got to the point that people began joking that one day, a character will be wearing nothing but belts. Now every time I see one of Brandon's outfits, I think of that designer. One of these days, his outfit is going to be just straps. I actually did like his outfit for the most part today (get rid of the bonnet or at least have it lay flat on the edge), but that thing could be put on a Final Fantasy character and it would fit right in. I liked Ayana's the best. ETA: See someone else brought up FF. He could totally make great FF costumes.
  9. Thank you! My cousin got them out today through a medical relief group and they are safe with her in Miami. The woman Bethenny is putting people in contact with told me of a backup flight just in case and I directed another person with an ill mother on the island to her. She has a great team working on the island and in Florida.
  10. I was waiting for the scene where Dre realizes there is a teenage stranger hanging around with his daughter behind closed doors and sleeping in his house (and his kid's room?) and puts an end to the whole thing or at least has a fit. I don't think they even had a scene that included both Aaron and Dre, like they wanted to avoid Dre acting cool (and out of character) about it or doing his usual freak-out. Did I miss something or did Dre just not acknowledge his daughter's guest? Heh at Charlie thinking Dre was Ruby's father. So Dre's boss is being slowly poisoned by his son? Makes sense, actually.
  11. Basically this. She's the main contact person and she is the one that keeps looking and asking for planes (and now a cargo ship) since she has the contacts. People tell her that they have thousands of pounds of donated goods and as long as they can get them to Miami, she'll get them to PR. People contact her to tell them about their relatives in a certain town and she relays it to her team who are going to be on the ground. I contacted her to get my grandparents off the island and she directed me to someone working with her. Unfortunately, the planes were leaving out of SJ and my grandparents are on the other side of the island and with the battered roads combined with their health issues, they couldn't make the trip. The situation is such that I'm praying that one of her planes go to the airport in their town because that is our only option right now since the flights have been heavily restricted and are all sold out.
  12. She's saying "I'm the first" because she shouldn't have been the first. She (and the people she has been helping and us in the mainland who are seeing our relatives going through this) are incredibly frustrated and pissed off that a lot of places in Puerto Rico are not getting donations that are being sent over and that it took over a week to see any government response (on all levels) and even that has been sporadic since. Saying "It's been a week/two weeks and we've been the first people this town has seen that have actually given them stuff" is not all, "I'm first, GO ME!," it's "What the hell has been taking so long for any help to arrive?" and she has said as much. It also shows how urgent the situation has gotten. If she could access these places and bring donations, why hadn't it already been done by then?
  13. I forgot to add 'a' - Kameron reminds me of A humorless Alaska Thunderfuck. It's just her looks and mannerisms. Alaska has her awful moments, but she's funny.
  14. And Kameron reminds me of a humorless Alaska Thunderfuck, which isn't a good thing.
  15. https://www.instagram.com/p/BZt8FvNAqDP/?hl=en I like her and am happy that she's including Puerto Rico in her charity work. Almost all my family is down there and the island needs all the help it could get. It is heartbreaking. ETA: She just posted that she got the fifth plane. ETA Part II: Is there a ban on just mentioning this? She's popping up on my PR update groups on FB a lot.
  16. Beverly. Oops.
  17. Ivy voted for HRC and I think so did Winter, the male neighbor, and Beverly. Kai, Chaz, and Emma Robert's character voted for Trump. Ally voted for Stein and Meadow voted for Oprah. Actually, @ClareWalks is right, the neighbor voted for Johnson. The psychiatrist voted for HRC. The Vanity Fair recap said that we never saw Kai's ballot but I thought we did?
  18. I think he said that he's going to immediately be leaving for on-the-road training right after he finishes with the classes.
  19. Seriously, that was what I was thinking. When would have been a good time for Kail? When she was going through marital problems with Javi? When Javi was deployed? When she was getting a divorce? When she was sorting out custody issues with Javi? Or now, when she has a newborn with the Phantom of Dover? She veers from one drama to the next and it's reflected in Isaac going from house to house to house with no set schedule. And now she's beginning to badmouth Jo again, shocker. Devoin barely reacted when Roxanne was talking to him during graduation. Like he saw a T-Rex next to him and didn't want to make any sudden movements.
  20. She was pretty much frozen out and then fired from Elle the last time, so this is an interesting turn of events. The main people involved in that whole mess are gone, so she's coming backwith an almost clean slate.
  21. I really liked Margarita's - the model had told Tim that she always feels covered up out there and Margarita puts her in a dress that makes her into a total bombshell. I preferred that one over Michael's. I did like the sleeves on Brandon's top - not as something I would wear (looks like it would be really annoying), but as runway fashion. The twins would drive me insane. It's like they're acting out in their own melodramatic play in their corner whenever they hit a design snag. From the recap: LOL.
  22. It took them sitting side-by-side to realize that Bri and Baker are two different people. The single mom reminds me of Kim from RHoBH - they both have that wide-eyed perpetually confused look. The hell was happening with her at the restaurant? I couldn't help but contrast Kate going out with her crew to Hannah from BD: Med. No drunken groping there.
  23. I cracked up at Anfisa immediately wandering away with her pizza as soon as the Danielle and Mohamed Show started up again in front of her. Loren and Paola are so obnoxious.
  24. Here is a tour of Luann's (former?) apartment with Tom - it's big by NYC standards (look, if it takes more than 1 minute to take a full tour, it qualifies as big here) but I don't think it's penthouse-ish. She could technically be right, though! Nice terrace.
