So I'm guessing 2 Vets got cut in TC...? Otherwise, with 10 Rookies, we'd be at 39 DCCs.

So 30 Vets re-auditioned, Gabby was cut and didn't make it back to TC. That means 29 Vets made it to TC. Did 2 Vets bow out before TC began, leaving only 27 Vets returning to TC? That would mean 10 Rookies made it for the TT of 37 DCCs... Help! lol

Whose on the rookies that didn't make it? Or did 10 rookies make it?

Hasn't it always been a hard 36? Since I've been watching DCC:MTT the team count had always been a hard 36. But that hasn't stopped them from having some elastic counts some years.

Yikes, that's too bad. I really liked her. She was always so genuine.

Does anyone have any thoughts about who the last cut will be? DCC hasn't taken over 36 since S8, except with the whole Yuko first year and the Visa debacle. But I wonder if they will this year...

Okay, did they actually announce who made the team this year yet...? I thought the announcement was supposed to be a couple days ago. Have they taken the squad photo?

Does anyone know why Lauren is retiring after only 2 years? I know she was still working as a nurse through her time on DCC. Did that become difficult?

Personally, I wondered why Taylor tried out at all, with her kicks as poor as they were. In TC I remember her saying she was a Barbie, not a Gumby. So she's at TC knowing her kicks weren't up to par. I think they gave her quite a good amount of time to improve, like they gave MacKenzie. MacKenzie improved a lot, even though her kicks were still her weakest point. So I guess I can understand Taylor not re-auditioning. For Courtney, she was only 19 when she made TC. I'm hoping she works on her dancing and cheers with her college squad, then re-auditions. So many DCCs have benefitted from college cheer squads. I hope she comes back in a couple years.

I don't know if this was covered - there were a lot of pages to comb through, and I might have missed it, but anyone know why Charlotte wasn't on the judges panel this year?

There's a couple candidates I wonder if we'll ever see audition again; Courtney from Tyler, TX (she made TC in S10, I think, and was cut right before the end), and Taylor, the blond who also made it to TC in S10, who said no one should kill another person's dreams. Anyone know anything?

Does anyone know if Paige is still with the player she lost her spot on DCC for? I was watching DCC:MTT S8 again, and wondered...

I think we only got to see a very abbreviate portion of the retiring Vet speeches. So most of their personal stuff remained personal, as it should be. But the producers probably know that viewers/fans like seeing more of the Vets during the show, so have included them more. Yuko! So hysterical! I wonder if her fiancé is Japanese, or if he's moving to Japan with her, as it appears her American cat is staying here.

MEREDITH! That's her! Thanks for correcting me on that. Ah, I don't mind Kelli inflating the number of those auditioning. She's responsible for recruiting candidates and selling the brand. That involves advertising and selling people on the desirability of your product. I get it. Since the audition process has been televised, the total number of candidates have gone down, though I think the quality of those auditioning has gone up. Many of the lesser qualified think twice about being shown at a disadvantage on TV. lol

I don't mind highlighting hardships the girls have overcome. But I agree that it would be great to add stories about girls who just worked really hard to get to this point. Why not highlight a girl who says she worked in the studio 3 hours a day, 5 days a week on her dancing, and all that work has paid off and she's now a DCC finalist. I admit the dyslexia story had me scratching my head. But then, up to 15% of kids have dyslexia, so maybe the producers thought this would resonant with viewers.
