This thread, I feel so seen!! ❤️ So UPtv is planning a GG marathon beginning next Sunday at 11pm and they will also air AYITL, I think it's the first time on network? Anyway, I've been contemplating whether or not to watch AYITL for a second time, since I couldn't bear to sit through that hot garbage twice on Netflix (ASP can still suck it, I've never watched anything else she's done, I can hold a TV grudge like a mother fucker). And I'm realizing that age has really taken the bloom off the Lorelai rose for me. I didn't remember her irritating me this much during the original but man, my tolerance for her Peter Pan antics has sunk to new lows. I was raised by a bipolar mother who mostly wasn't medicated well, so I understand the power of a parent's words over a child's psyche. But I still can't square Lorelai's utter contempt for how they raised her since I've been called everything but a child of God by my own mother, and Emily Gilmore is nowhere close. Not in the same zip code, not even the same country. Her extreme responses scream of entitlement, and a lot of times I find I'd like to Cher-in-Moonstruck slap the shit out of her and tell her to take it down about eleven thousand notches. For me, she's the physical embodiment of the phrase 'If you keep crying, I'll give you something to really cry about'. And it gets no better the older she gets. At some point, she needed to grow the fuck up and take some damn responsibility for the nature of her adult relationship with her parents. I'm thinking about when Emily called her to go shopping for a birthday gift for Rory, and Lorelai's quips and digs made me want to yell at her to shut the fuck up for 2 fucking minutes. Maybe because I'm older now, and 2020 sucks worse than a ho in a hurry, and as a Black woman, I just can't relate to her in any way anymore. That's not to say I can't still enjoy an episode or dialogue. I still enjoy the last 3 episodes of S4 whenever they come on, and others of course. I've still never watched most of S6 and nothing before I'd Rather Be in Philadelphia in S7. I've always hated Christopher - that's never changed - but the role left such a bad impression I can't watch David Sutcliffe and NOT wanna wipe the stupid smirk off his face. Nothing personal, David. It is what it is. In my head canon, at the end of S6 when Lorelai asks Luke to run off and get married, the season ends there. S7 opens in a hotel room, with the camera panning the floor where we see clothes and shoes, and when it gets to the bed, there's Lorelai and LUKE. He's just waking up, she's been watching him, and says 'Good morning husband' and Luke says 'Good morning wife'. That might actually have been a fanfic I read somewhere, a long time ago. Damn, I'm getting old.

Has anyone seen the new commercial, where T says something about wanting to watch C squirm? And she does this laugh, and then like a 'knowing' type sound? Maybe I've been in lockdown too long but, that was so loaded with sexual innuendo that I'm wondering what HGTV is up to lol. To me, it sounded like T was referencing some sexual activities they did together and C picked up on the reference with her second reaction. I'm seeing a lot of sexual tension in this commercial and I wonder if HGTV sees it too and is using it. I also wonder if the new boo sees it as well.

They're showing '...Goodbye" right now and I'm crying all over again at the loss of Lee Thompson Young. Such a promising light that dimmed too soon. 😢

I like The Brothers Scott. I love open concept. I'm single, I wanna be able to see if a monster is tryna creep in. Same reason I don't want a basement, it's just an extra area to have to check before I go to sleep to make sure no clowns are hiding down there. When I cook, I clean as I go (I keep hot soapy water in my farmhouse sink that I don't have to stand on a stool to wash dishes in) and if I have company, I have no problem telling them to please wash that dish and put the green beans in it, there's a slotted spoon in that drawer to your left. Because we can talk and visit and have fun while I'm finna put this food on my oversized contemporary island with the bar sink. 😉

I am so very very glad they didn't get cute at the end and kick their audience in the nuts, I can't even say! I really loved it. Did I get everything I wanted? No, but I'm square with that. Didn't see SMG coming, I really expected the surprise guest to be William Shatner. I can absolutely believe he would attend the Nobel ceremony, no question. I was thinking earlier, why would any of this family leave each other, at least for right now? Because that's what those strange, geeky, picked on, friendless, kids have always wanted. A family that chose them, in all their nerdy glory. And Penny - the Pretty Girl, who found hers with the same kinda weirdos she shunned in high school. A family that sees and knows the best and worst of you, and will be there through it all. I guess I took the last episode about Leonard supplying his sperm for Zach and his wife, and Penny's antics, differently. She tried real hard to get Leonard to change his mind, why did she care about that so much, if she still really really didn't want kids? Her conversation with her dad made it seem to me as if it was more about her being unsure if she would be any good at it. Babysitting Halley is one thing, you can go home. You can't leave your own kids, that's called child abandonment. 😉 I can actually imagine, with the secret training Amy does with Sheldon, that he would be very attentive during her pregnancy. He would naturally read all the books and chart her stats and of course, there'd be tons of 'experiments' to try on children. And he has a baseline already with some of them via his study with the Wolotots. I'm so happy I can watch reruns in peace, knowing they didn't fuck it all up in the end.

Aw, I loved it. The whole show. I'm one of those boring people who want my favorite characters to end happily. I ugly cried during Beverly and Leonard's hug and I am satisfied with this measure of closure. And no, I don't want Raj to move to England, I want him to find happiness like his friends. The world is fucked up enough, I don't need real life inserting itself into my TV escape, so I want everyone to be happy and get what they want. It doesn't happen nearly enough IRL, let me have this, dammit! 😊 I would never want Leonard to tell his mother to get out and never contact him again, because that's not what Leonard has wanted. That would've been super depressing, and not at all consistent.

I loved CW as Annie on Guiding Light. When Annie found out her baby was stillborn, her scenes were so powerful to me. If I'm not mistaken, she's a recovering alcoholic and I believe there were rumors that's why she was recast on YR (she was arrested for DUI back when she was on Lost) but I hope if she is a Friend of Bill, that she is taking care of herself. Maybe she can change viewers' opinion on Nina but that's definitely an uphill battle. I wish her luck.

GT was NEVER Phyllis for me so, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Now, if we could get Billy Miller back, I'd start watching regularly again.

Others at the Mouse House have been fired for their comments, if they keep him around, legally, wouldn't they be setting themselves up for a lawsuit by others who were fired? And they knew it was wrong because Bradford went back and edited it out. He should've just sat there and ate his food....

I never understood why they didn't bring back the John Silva character and use him to start integrating Hispanic characters. Long time viewers remember him (he was damn fine too, not sure why he didn't get more play amongst the ladies of YR) and he could've been brought back during Prictor's incarceration and then start to build from there. But that would have made way too much sense.

I think that's probably part of the whole denial she has going about what happened to Jane. To acknowledge her other parts, that would probably mean she's acknowledging the horrific abuse Jane suffered and her own failures as the parent, and she doesn't seem to want to confront that yet.

I mean, she was granted sole custody after the divorce, she said that herself. I'd imagine that if she had done stuff to endanger them, that would've been brought up by her ex-husband and the court system. And after being raised by a bipolar mother who was rarely medicated and never in therapy, Jane at least appears to be a hundred times better mother than my own already.

I thought the order of character names listed on the survey was interesting. I guess I expected either alphabetical or maybe by tenure but that's not how they were listed.

If they got Billy Miller back from GH, that would be the nail in the coffin of Philly. So, come on back, BM!!

But if no one is watching, what's the point of keeping it on the air? Getting beat by Days is a BFD and I just can't imagine any network letting a show that's not profitable stay on the air just because they're afraid of the backlash. They certainly didn't care when they canceled OLTL and AMC pretty much back to back. I feel like something's gotta give soon. Does anyone know when they're up for renewal?

I like Gloria but I just don't see her character as a long term option with Jack. So after they toss the no talent noobs, how about finding someone like Colleen Zenk (Barbara, ATWT) as a new love interest? And, have her be loyal to Jack, I'm sick of him getting the short end of the stick with his love interests.

Since 'Lane' stans no longer have a couple with Lily being off contract and in the pokey, there really is no reason to keep Cryptkeeper Jr. around.

So....are we taking bets on who goes on the chopping block and in what order? Because my #1 (Buttbiscuit) and #2 (Phyllis) are interchangeable.....
