  1. I think our ginger boyfriend didn’t make it.
  2. It’s a cult of personality but Ezekiel uses his powers for good.
  3. Poor Brian. His life sucked so badly he invented his own backstory and, in death, is still more interesting than Clay. I’m glad the waitress at the diner genuinely mourned for him. I’m still mad that he was fridged for Clay. I don’t see the point of that character anymore. The team is managing fine without Nate and do not seem to be in need of an extra body. The rest of the episode was really good. I enjoyed watching the operation come together. Nice to see Sharif Atkins again. He and Boreanez had good antagonist chemistry, while Ray’s intervention added layering to the conflict. Everyone wanted the operation to work. Even Cerberus was around. I liked seeing that the CIA officer and Davis are continuing to bond. I felt sorry for the Afghan woman. She lost her husband and fled her life in Afghanistan ahead of the Taliban, and now Jason is about to burden her with his angst.
  4. I had a day off yesterday and, since I really wanted to see Thor Ragnarok, I thought a Monday 12:45pm showing would be quiet. I was wrong. By no means full, the theatre still had a crowd. I was thrilled to see the majority of said crowd were elderly, presumably retirees. It was so great to see I can hang onto my nerdiness well into my old age. And even if I have to push a walker to get there I can still go to the latest Marvel release and check out the hot guys. The woman in the row below me had to be close to eighty and she just loved Chris Hemsworth!
  5. Don’t take it all on yourselves. I just killed Me, Myself & I. The first network sitcom in years that I liked and my affection slaughtered it after 7 episodes.
  6. I tried to watch an episode of Norman Reedus’ travel show. I thought it would be good geography porn, and my Dad had a bike when I was a kid so I have good memories of rides along various Irish backroads. Couldn’t get through the episode. He was travelling with Balthazar Getty, and they were both so vacuous and uninteresting. It threatened to ruin Darryl for me (and I’m not a big fan anyway) so I stopped watching. Overall I prefer not to know the actor behind my favourite characters.
  7. Amir got interesting: a privileged upbringing in Beirut, followed by the tragic death of his talented sister lead him to the CIA. Three years undercover as a leader of ISIS was some hardcore backstory. And he sold it. No matter what the terrorists said or did, Amir never broke character. I figured he had a Plan B going on when he walked away from the kid, but it still looked cold when he did it. Jaz bugged in this one. I know Amir replaced her friend but did she seriously think he was some agency’s leftovers? It bothered me that Dalton shared Amir’s story behind his back to to shut Jaz up. I could ship Dalton and Campbell if somebody asked. I noticed that Patricia pulled off her glasses as soon as Dalton appeared on screen. I don’t think she’s that much older than him and, while there might be direct report issues, they are not at all in the same chain of command. I felt bad for Preach and Maguire hanging tough in the pouring rain. The kid took long enough to change his mind. Seeing his sister’s head slammed into a wall should have clued him in. I really liked the sister. She risked everything for her brother and I was glad it worked out for her.
  8. I enjoyed this episode too. I like seeing the Mutants be proactive instead of them being outsmarted and outmaneuvered. Sentinel have serious assets but the Mutants have powers that can equal to exceed those assets. Bringing Dillahunt in and having Coby Bell willingly violate everybody’s rights showed that Sentinel is levelling up. They also have turned Mutants on staff. The Mutant Underground isn’t going to win every battle but they should never be completely outmatched. I stopped watching SuperGirl because her powers depended on the needs of the plot; I don’t want to see that happen here. Caitlin’s desire for normalcy is misguided. There is nothing normal about genocide. I agree that the children need to be educated but not in conventional curricula. They need to learn to survive. Lorna is not entirely wrong but she could do with dialling it back a notch by teaching the kids without actively trying to kill them. I do love when her plans come together. Blink pulled my least favourite sulk: taking an emergency that affects everyone and making it all about her. It never occured to her that John was tentative about her because he didn’t want to risk taking advantage of the implanted memories?
  9. This was the first episode in which I found the Klingons interesting. I was genuinely intrigued by L’Relle. I didn’t trust her but thought her defecting would be seriously interesting. Was she eager to get to Discovery for the ship itself or to collect intelligence from an embedded spy? It seemed to confirm my least favourite fandom theory about Tyler. She and the Admiral made for excellent frenemies, and the presence of both L’Relle and Cornwall on Discovery would have seriously annoyed Lorca. I’m disappointed it apparently won’t happen. I like Cornwall so I hope she’s just mostly dead. I’m also trusting L’Relle has a plan to escape her latest predicament. Tilley is still high on my list of favourite characters. She cared enough about Stamets to refuse to be intimidated and to respect his wishes. I always like to see the steel under her flightiness. I kind of wish Tyler had been paired with her instead of Michael. I like the work bond between Michael and Ash, but I’m not feeling the romance at all.
  10. I enjoyed most of that episode. It had walkers, and my favourite people were being ruthless and getting stuff done. And then Jesus happened. I really don’t get his deal here. People are at war. Resources (except ammo) are finite. It’s not like the Saviours are useful and self-sufficient. They thrive by preying on others and taking their resources. They’re violent freeloaders. What exactly is Jesus thinking they can bring to the table? Who does he think has time to guard them? The Hilltop has a lot of noncombatants and Jesus brought mostly angry, resentful males. Who does he think is going to feed them? I’m fine with giving them Gregory’s rations but that’s not going to go far. I can’t believe he fought Morgan over it. And ticked off Tara too. I always enjoy watching Rick and Darryl cause mayhem. Darryl seriously has had enough of Saviours, and I imagine he’ll have some words for Jesus. Thankfully Rick remembered baby Gracie because Judith is going to need a BFF. Aaron and Eric had a bad night but someone should have put Eric down. Where’s Carl when you need him? King Ezekiel gives a fine speech but needs to work on his situational awareness. I need him, Carol, Diane, Shiva and that tall ginger to survive. I struggled through last season but I’m eager to see what happens next week. It’s not perfect, but I’ll take it.
  11. Morgan will be happy to get back to The Kingdom, who lay waste to everything and everyone.
  12. Did Jesus not see that Saviour smirking and taunting? How can he imagine a peaceful coexistence with that? I don’t get him.
  13. I can hear that alien in Independence Day “No peace.”
  14. That guy is smirking his way to an early grave. Does he want to die that badly?
  15. Now I want to shoot Jesus. This is just stupid.
