  1. This 10-episode horror series is set to premiere on EPIX on Sunday, Aug. 22. Chapelwaite is adapted from the Stephen King's short story Jerusalem's Lot, which was first published in his 1978 collection Night Shift. Chapelwaite stars Adrian Brody as Captain Charles Boone, a widower who relocates with his three children to his ancestral home in the sleepy town of Preacher's Corners, Maine in the 1850s after his wife dies at sea. However, upon settling in at the dilapidated Chapelwaite manor, Charles finds himself haunted by horrifying visions and must confront his family's disturbing history in the hopes of ending the darkness that has plagued them for generations. Emily Hampshire is Rebecca Morgan, an ambitious young woman who left Preacher's Corners to attend Mount Holyoke College and returned home to write a story for the prestigious Atlantic Magazine. Struggling with writer's block, Rebecca becomes the governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor in the hopes of finding inspiration, only to unravel a mystery that has afflicted her own family for years. Rounding out the cast are Trina Corkum, Gord Rand and Allegra Fulton.
  2. The Chucky TV Series has been confirmed to pick up after the events of the movie "Cult of Chucky".

  4. David S. Goyer, is the showrunner behind the Apple TV+ adaptation of Foundation. "There are three tricky aspects to Foundation that I think have tripped up all the other adaptations," Goyer said. "The first is that the story is supposed to span 1,000 years with all these massive time jumps — that's hard to tell. It's certainly hard to capsulize in a two- or three-hour film. The second aspect is the books are kind of anthological. You'll have a couple of short stories in the first book with the main character Salvor Hardin, then you'll jump forward a hundred years and there'll be a different character. The third thing is that they're not particularly emotional; they're books about ideas, about concepts. So a lot of the action happens off-screen. In the books, the Empire, which is on 10,000 worlds, literally falls off-screen — like, it happens in between chapters. Obviously, that wasn't going to work for a television show. "So without giving too much away, I figured out a way to have some of the characters extend their lifespans. About six characters will continue from season to season, from century to century. That way it becomes a half anthological, half continuing story." One of the aspects that I added was this idea of the genetic dynasty. Because in the books, there are different emperors but they're largely faceless. You jumped forward a couple of hundred years and there's a different emperor. I wanted there to be consistent faces, even if they're different characters. So, I came up with this idea that the Empire is a series of clones of one man that they keep recycling over and over again. But, at any one time, there are three of them on the throne — Brother Dawn, Brother Day, and Brother Dusk. And so, even though we'll jump forward sometimes between seasons and these will technically be different characters, these three guys have the same face. I felt that would give the audience a foothold. And since the Empire doesn't want to change, what's the cleanest expression of being resistant to change or wanting to impose your will across millennia? It's, "What if I can be the same person over and over again?" "I pitched this as eight seasons, so if it works out, I get 80 hours."
  5. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds production has wrapped. This show will be more episodic in nature than the other current Star Trek series.
  6. She-Hulk has been filming for 4 months and Jameela Jamil has tweeted that she has one more month of filming left. Although this may not definitively signal the end of production, it seems likely the entire production should end around that time as well.

  9. Blade Runner: Black Lotus is a new anime series from Adult Swim and Crunchyroll. Blade Runner: Black Lotus is set in the year 2032, firmly between the events of the two Blade Runner movies, which were set in 2019 (Blade Runner) and 2049 (Blade Runner 2049) respectively. There are three anime short films that act as prequels to the Blade Runner 2049 movie, "Blade Runner Black Out 2022", "2036: Nexus Dawn" and "2048: Nowhere to Run". There are also several Blade Runner Comic Books released by Titan Comics that provide rich context to the Blade Runner world. Blade Runner: Black Lotus will run for 13 episodes and will be dubbed into English and Japanese. Adult Swim will most likely air the English dubbed version. The English voice cast (Japanese voice cast) for Blade Runner: Black Lotus includes Jessica Henwick (Arisa Shida), who will be playing Elle, a female Replicant living on Earth in the aftermath of the collapse of the Tyrell Corporation one decade earlier. Stephen Root (Hochu Otsuka) as the LAPD Chief of Police Earl Grant, Peyton List (Yoshiko Sakakibara) as his wife, Josephine Grant, Brian Cox (Takaya Hashi) as Wallace Corporation CEO Niander Wallace, Sr., Wes Bentley (Takehito Koyasu) as his son, Niander Wallace, Jr., Will Yun Lee (Shinshū Fuji) as Joseph, a mysterious figure who owns a spare parts junkyard in Los Angeles, Samira Wiley (Takako Honda) as Alani Davis, a fresh LAPD recruit, Josh Duhamel (Taiten Kusunoki) as Marlowe, a deadly Blade Runner, Barkhad Abdi (Takayuki Kinba) as Doc Badger, a black market dealer, Gregg Henry (Masane Tsukayama) as Senator Bannister, a politician with strong feelings on replicant production, Henry Czerny (Akio Nojima) as Doctor M, a brilliant doctor and professor of medicine, and Jason Spisak (Kazuki Yao) as Hooper, a journalist in the pocket of the Wallace Corporation.
  10. A live-action Invincible movie is currently in the works. Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg (The Boys) will write, direct, and produce the film.
  11. I thought the story was fine, but the animation should have been much more fluid. How could Man-At-Arms kick so much ass, his robot self wasn't half the man he was.
  12. I can say that she will definitely be in Episode 5.
  13. A clip from Leverage: Redemption released on Friday at Comic-Con@Home. This clip is from the second set of 8 episodes, releasing in the Fall, this particular episode is directed by Beth Riesgraf. The setup: LeVar Burton guest-starring as Mr. Blanche, a small town librarian who is described as very kind, empathic and extremely liked by locals. A voracious reader, he fantasizes about being a hero like in the books he reads. It seems like the grift, but it is actually a gift: Mr. Blanche is quietly battling Stage 4 cancer, so the Leverage team plans a “make believe adventure” to lift his spirits. Elliot and Breanna (played by Christian Kane and Aleyse Shannon) aim to stealthily trek over to the library logs to see what sort of novels Mr. Blanche favors, after which Parker (Beth Riesgraf), Sophie (Gina Bellman) and Harry (Noah Wyle) debate what to do with their findings.
  14. The Sinner season 4 unravels another mind-bending mystery in exclusive first teaser A very short teaser trailer in the article. Although there is no set date yet, Season 4 will air sometime in October on USA.
  15. Creepshow showrunner Greg Nicotero spoke with Comicbook.com's Brandon Davis in an exclusive interview and gave details about Season 3, which is 12 stories contained in six episodes. In the episode called "Queen Bee" that's in the pilot, that's in the first episode. It was written by Erik Sandoval and Michael Rousselet. And it's sort of a Beyoncé type story. 'What if all the people that admired this singer, they were being controlled by her because she was an alien?' It's kind of that sort of fun scenario...In the 'Skeletons' episode that we were talking about James Remar stars in that, and it's a movie lovers bonanza." That interview can be found here "Greg Nicotero Teases Creepshow Season 3 Plans (Exclusive)". The season three panel for Creepshow will kick off Saturday, July 24 at 6:00pm PT via Comic-Con @ Home. Greg Nicotero will be joined by director Rusty Cundieff, writer Mattie Do, and cast members Michael Rooker and James Remar.
  16. Anna Diop as Starfire Brenton Thwaites as Nightwing
  17. House of the Dragon, which had stopped production due to COVID-19 concerns on set, has resumed filming after a two day shutdown. Filming of the series, is primarily taking place in the UK, and they also expected to film in Spain and California.
  18. Nicky has time to computer generate an entire multipage color illustrated manual about how to manage Althea's wedding, but couldn't be bothered to help her Baba draw one little dumpling clipart for the restaurant menu.
  19. So the magical mystical "Forge" was nothing but a flat rock with no power, and the sorcerer was the important bit. It makes you wonder why the "Forge" deserved a star in the constellation. Nicky gave back all of her Biange magical energy, but did Zhilan? Maybe that will be how she escapes prison or maybe she can heal Kerwin. I would really like it if they introduced Kerwin's brothers and sisters that he kept referring to and their competitive ways. Dennis' family are definitely going to be business partners with the Tan family. (The actor that played Dennis' father has a part in new season of "The Sinner" which is probably why he wasn't around much in this series, I don't think Dennis' family was even at the wedding). So much money wasted on the wedding and all the activities leading up to it, they could have used that money to save the restaurant without having to resort to criminal loan sharks. I am still not sure how they paid off all those medical bills from Baba's beatdown. At least they seem to still have a nice house even though neither of the parents will be employed after they close the restaurant.
  20. That is so overly complicated, it would have been simple to just create an audio track the plays like all the other audio and subtitle tracks that they include with every Netflix title released. Not everybody is watching on a computer and can have multiple windows open at the same time, people watching on a TV would have a horrible, if not impossible experience using this.
  21. Benedict and Curtain's indelibly intertwined pasts are revealed. Premiere date: July 23, 2021
