Episode Guide and Summary Episodes 7-9 November 20

What a horrible episode where not much happens, I guess all of the picture belong to the next episode. There appears to be more zombies than people, where are the townspeople and why is that store so full of products. Maybe all those people lazying around should be trying to barricade the doors and windows in case the zombies ever decide to show up. I can't believe they are going to stretch this out for four more episodes.

Who has a a stream running through their living room? Does this mean that Faye doesn't remember anything about who she is/was? If Faye was in cryosleep, she could be 100's of years old.

Spike continues to bother me since he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself and his delivery of jokes seems off. All of the other actors seem committed to their roles. I am guessing that all of the naked "fugees" had their eyes fused shut so that they could never use the Red Eye that they were making. So essentially they were doing their job "blind" which doesn't seem like the best solution from a productivity standpoint. A better idea would have been to fuse a glass lens over each eye so that they could never use the Red Eye while also providing OSHA Approved safety eyewear. Julia notices Spike's favorite drink is prominent on Ana's cart. For someone who doesn't have any money, Spike seems to be able to get whatever he wants, he didn't even return the sniper rifle for a refund, he just left it there. Now Jett has to keep that Hund just in case his daughter ever pops by for a visit. Sounds like something happened and everybody evacuated Earth?

I still like it, Spike should have played it a little more likable and smooth. I think the performance is lacking in a playful energy. Spike should appear not to care, but still be very focused on his surroundings. The fight moves are unique and entertaining although they could have been edited better to make them seem more natural and flow better. Some places are a little grungy, even the higher class places you would expect would have a little more polish. The sets could use more high-tech looking gadgets to remind us this is space and we are in the future. I think they leaned in a little to hard on the retro, since I even saw and original Mac computer. They also need more splashes of color to remind people of it's Anime origins.

I haven't read the books, so I have no respect for any of the characters yet. Moiraine was way too proper for my tastes in the first half, she had no personality. I didn't like her first entrance into the tavern because she left the door wide open, even though it was cold and raining. Raised in a barn, much? Then she heads straight to the fire to keep warm. Not a good way to win me over. Then Moiraine and Lan Mandragoran have the interesting cold tub/hot tub scene. In my mind it went something like this, Lan Mandragoran says the water could be a little hotter and the camera pans to Moiraine and you see a couple of bubbles pop out of the water and Moiraine says "Is that better?". After pausing the video to laugh for a few minutes, Moiraine has finally earned my respect and I resumed watching the show. I also didn't like Matrim Cauthon gambling, drinking and losing lots of money only to come home to his sisters covered in filth, did they really have to be so dirty, it reeked of neglect regardless of how much the show tried to convince us that Matrim truly loved his siblings during the rest of the episode. The first half of the episode was a little boring they tried the make the tavern scene seem lively and interesting, but I just wasn't into it. By the time the Trollocs attacked, the only people I was rooting for was Lan Mandragoran and Nynaeve al'Meara. The second half of the episode was fine. It seemed like Moiraine controls/summons wind, fire and lightning, but I am sure that is not the case. Moiraine seems to harness the elements that are already around her and directs them. That doesn't quite explain how she pulled the stone blocks out of the buildings. I guess a Wizard did it. I am watching on a computer with Chrome and the X-Ray stuff (you should watch the X-Ray stuff especially the Companion Animation: Origin Stories) never goes to full screen and even worst doesn't have subtitles. There are lots of character and place names as well as everything else that would have greatly benefited from subtitles. Companion Animation: Origin Stories: Ep 1: The Breaking of the World Anybody want to explain what happened and how it is relevant to the story, it is probably better to create another thread, so as not to get in any trouble with the moderators.

Isaac died of dysentery and in this episode he told everybody to stop washing their hands. He should have told everybody, but the cook, to stop washing their hands.

I was going to say how did Salvor learn how to fly a spaceship after only one lesson, but I guess the answer was that she didn't.

I liked it. It is better than most of the stuff currently being released. John Cho could be better at delivering his punchlines. I am not sure why it is futuristic and retro at the same time. Phonographs and typewriters have to business on a spaceship, especially when the headphones don't even have cords.

But that would be hilarious if they showed a bunch of "White" 4400 people staying at a luxury hotel, hanging out by the pool, in the sauna, getting massages, getting room service, etc.

I wasn't sure because what Powder sees is not very reliable. VI would have been lying in the flames an awful long time, if there were even flames there at all. The "flying skateboard" gang attacks VI later in the next episode, so much for loyalty. That would also mean that VI was only arrested a few days/weeks ago in the story. I hadn't watched episode 6 when I wrote that. VI said that she was arrested right after Vander's death. Which might explain why so many years passed without her trying to find Powder.
