  1. Her lack of knowledge regarding the vintage details that she buys for her projects is appalling. Most of it doesn't even fit the character of the home.
  2. That chicken coop should have been scrapped. It's the last thing that I would want in my backyard in the city or actually anywhere else.
  3. Also noticed mention f Dr. Latham. Hope they bring him back.
  4. Also noticed the mention of Dr. Latham. Hope he comes back.
  5. The tons of fun shown in the Northern version of Say Yes to the Bride weren't overly impressive.
  6. Bleach blonde bride and her equally bleach blond friends were a little over the top. First getting married in the cathedral as a second marriage (unless she had the first one annulled or was widowed) and wearing really revealing dresses is a no no. Also thought she was a little old for that dress. But I did like her ring.
  7. What is with her? She goes on and on about wanting to save the historic integrity of these properties and then goes ahead and rips out the original window casings, floors and brick walls. Those brass kitchen hoods are going to go out of fashion really fast. Not a fan of mixing metallic finishes in a kitchen. I also think that the prospective buyers that they bring in are all plants. Also, did this property really sell. Can't find any record besides when they purchased the property.
  8. Sean Brock looks so old for his age (35). Must be all the substance abuse before he got clean. Also found it interesting Tom's fabricated story about living on St. James Street. First off, it's called St. James Place and he lives nearby on Adelphi Street not St. James. But its sounds good for tv.
  9. Michaela's groucho marx eyebrows. Please get rid of them.
  10. Actually she lived in the Hancock Center till she was 7 and then the family moved to Lincolnwood.
  11. A lot of made for tv drama in last night's episode. When they first went to preview the Giddings place, you could clearly see back hoe in the distance shot of the street. Also using windows with the snap in grids on the outside of the windows a really cheap look. Surprised that the living room fireplace even passed inspection since it didn't have sufficient clearance on the sides for combustion. She took a beautiful home and turned ii into a modern interpretation of what she considers classic. She is so over herself. Also doesn't she understand the concept of change orders and how they are handled along with OH & P.
  12. I do love the Kentucky Hot Browns especially for breakfast. Never liked the foam craze. Actually thought it was no longer in vogue.
  13. Actually, just looked that up. There really was a Fedora. Never knew that.
  14. Did anyone notice Shay walking in the background on this episode. Guess he is still around. Also have to wonder about the filming of these shows. Columbian bride was sporting a wedding ring under her engagement ring when trying on dresses in Kleinfeld's.
  15. Actually, they are quite good. Think of a croque monsieur with bacon.
  16. Actually had the Hot Brown at the Brown Hotel for breakfast. The Seelbach Hotel which was featured on last weeks also serves it at breakfast time. It was quite good. Didn't finish it though as it is quite a lot of food. But had to try it.
  17. Terra is quite something else with the over the top plumped up lips and eye makeup. Also tries to sound like Marilyn Monroe.
  18. I thought the same thing. If they are supposedly experts at what they are doing; this should have been caught immediately. Not sure why they couldn't have gone over the original drywall surrounding the fireplace in the first place. The other big no-no was the rotten window sash that I noticed when they were attempting to bring up the appliances, etc. through the top floor. They can't be bother to replace/fix a rotted out window frame. Homeowner building inspector would have picked this up during prospective owner's inspection before closing.
  19. What a difference that twenty years makes in the DC area. No egg whites in the late 60's. But they did do scotch sours.
  20. Actually, the original didn't include egg white according to a book by Jerry Thomas in 1862. Added after that. Now it's called a Boston Sour if it had the added egg white.
  21. I have never had a whiskey sour with egg white in it and I had plenty of them in my youth when they were a fashionable drink. Maybe that's a Kentucky version, not on the Mid Atlantic where I grew up.
  22. Can't believe they started them out with the chicken dishes. I cook alot and spatchcocking a chicken isn't easy.
