I just watched the latest episode.  I love Randy's dress on Rebekah (bionic bride.)  What a happy story for her.  I'm glad that we got to see the fitted dress on her.  She looked stunning and classy.

I felt bad for the other bride with the entourage that just couldn't be happy for her in any dress.  I hope she eventually found something SHE loved.

Thinking alot of jealousy going on with those two older unmarried members of her entourage.  And those faces that they made were hideous.

  2. The only thing good about last night's episode showing the Pierce house was that she didn't use those hideous brass hoods in the kitchen.  Wolf hood and range.  Actually she didn't kill the insides of this project too much.  Really should have used hearths with those fake fireplaces.  Looked strange just sitting on the wood floor.

Had to laugh when Donovan mentioned the crooked windows.  Must not have spent alot of time in old homes.  Too bad they took down the original iron fence.  Thought it was much better looking than the one they put in.  Can't believe the mistakes they made with the framing.  Doesn't Donovan have a project manager or why isn't he over at the site overlooking the progress of this home.

Yeah, the best crab I can get around me is the plastic tubs. Fresh? Not to be found. I think it's pretty fine.

Actually think that the crab in the plastic tubs is fresh crab that has been pasteurized so that it doesn't spoil.

My guess was that (like ATK) she considers both the actual "tin" cans and the processed refrigerated crab meat in the little tubs found in many supermarkets to be "canned".

Think there is a major difference in taste and cost between can crab meat and pasteurized crab meat that's usually sold in the seafood section.

They had time to dress, so I'm sure she had a few extra minutes to put her makeup on.

I was standing about 3 feet away from her in her store, and she's quite lovely, inside and out!  She was polite and asked if she could help me while I stood at the counter.  She's a very pretty woman.

I'd bet that they knew before going on TC that the finals would be overseas.  That would be important to know before signing on to any reality show.  Their reactions appeared to me that they knew where they were going, but they were just excited to be in the finals and going on the trip.

Even though some of the gardens were overgrown with weeds, they all seemed to have enough to prepare a meal with.   The garden doesn't have to be free of weeds in order to get results.  It would've made it easier to find everything though!

I'd give anything if the men would just put on a damn headband, or anything to collect the sweat rolling off of their foreheads.  That grosses me out every single time I see it.

Who puts on makeup to do heavy duty cooking.  The heat from the kitchen would melt it off.  If I'm cooking; don't care how I look as long as my food turns out great.

I am a woman who wears makeup maybe twice a year. I HATE how it feels on my face. I can imagine Sara feels the same, especially in a hot kitchen. I find the expectation that women need to rosy up their cheeks and lips to look "nice", but men look just fine au naturel, irritating to say the least.

Totally agree.  While I do wear makeup when I'm going out; don't bother putting on while I am cooking.

Probably just as simple as different WF stocking different items, I know that’s the case where I live. Last week they shopped in Louisville and this week they were in Lexington.

Actually, there is only one whole foods in Louisville.  Since they were cooking at the Brown Hotel; they were probably using that store.  Same one where Eddie couldn't find fresh duck.

  7. Thought the same thing about the duck.  Her's looked definitely fresh in her shopping cart.  Interesting that Eddie could only find frozen duck when he shopped.  Manufactured drama for the show?

Tom looked like a dork in that hat.

If someone told me they were from Lincolnwood I wouldn't have a clue what that meant. They'd have to tell me it was near Chicago.

Agreed.  While it's certainly a nice area; it's not Chicago.  Besides it's not even the infamous Cook County.

My high rise was approached several years ago by HH to shoot here. My first question was, did the couple buy here? Answer was yes, permission granted. Show came back a year later, but wanted us to be a decoy. No effing way.

Discussion today at work about Allison’s claim to be born and raised in Chicago. Since she moved to Lincolnwood when she was six, I’m all WTH? But natives made the case that the burb was thought of as part of the city. Weak case, I thought. Points for proximity, BS for schools and taxes. And, you know, a name that’s not Chicago. The thing we all agreed on was how stupid and wrong was ripping out the old wood trim. And the fugly art she commissions.

I agree.  Use to live in Barrington and always use the term suburb when I would tell people where we lived.  Lincolnwood as well as Barrington are in the burbs - not Chicago proper.  She should say I grew up in Chicagoland.

I wouldn't be a fan either.  Litter, and heavy construction do not make for friendly connections.

  10. Thought the same thing.  I recognized that the type of newel post.  Beautiful old piece that sometimes contained an ivory marker indicating a paid off mortgage.

I wanted to snatch that saw out of their hands when they were chopping up the banister on the original stairs and beat them over the head with it.  Fuck you, Allison and Donovan!  I'm sure one of those salvage places she goes to buy "old stuff" would have loved to take that solid hardwood banister they could hardly cut through with their fucking saw.

Yes, it's 1965 W. Evergreen Ave.  Really had to hunt for this.

  11. It will be interested to see how long this takes to sell.  Once again, needless mistakes on this project due to gross mismanagement.  The only thing about this project was the outside.  It did look better.  Wish she would put real fireplaces in as oppose to prefab units.  That speaks cheap to me.

I agree.  Whenever I think of Maine, lobster comes to mind, along with other assorted seafood - and maple syrup too!    I thought Tom's criticism was a little harsh in this instance.  No need to be an ass about it.

Someone should give Tom a map.

My favorite part of the episode:

Tom: He used fish to represent Lewiston, Maine? That's nowhere near the ocean.*

    THE PREVIOUS COURSE

Tom: Yes, Kentucky salmon. That's a thing we are all familiar with.

*By the way, lifelong masshole who vacationed in Maine for most of my life on the coast in the summer and skiing in the winter. Would not have known that Lewiston is *checks map* a whole thirty minute drive from the ocean.

Also looked up Lewiston and it's not fall from the ocean.  But then Tom got his home location in Brooklyn NY wrong too.
