That whole bit was as phony as the "real" diners in the restaurant with their prepared comments and questions.  Gordon makes a speech about how the judges read all the comment cards and tallied all the votes, talked to the restaurant owner and discussed everything at length among themselves and the winner is...........................Wait, we have to have a little side discussion after all that.  And another one while the kids squirm.  Then the big surprise announcement as if they all just made an impromptu decision.  Bah.

Also the fact that one of the diners he would have payed this much for the entree in a restaurant, which leads me to the assumption that they were fill ins for this episode.

I think he is an 8 year old under stress.

Actually some of the eight year olds from previous seasons held up really well.  My favorite was Riley Hahn in Season 3.  Never cried and even patted Gordon Ramsey on the head when he was eliminated and was picked up and hugged by Joe B.

I watched the Long Island episode for about 10 minutes before I bailed.  I couldn't stand that bitch.  The husband must have been mesmerized by her eyes, because that's the only good thing I saw about her.

I have to go back and watch again.  Thought her eye makeup was overtop to meet her personality.

The couple last night. I can't even remember where they were buying? Was it in NY state somewhere? The wife was beyond overbearing and obnoxious. I have to hope she was just acting that way for the episode. The husband seemed very easy going. They were going to put a pool in, because their young son loved doing cannonballs. Okay. I guess he was used to having a pool, so would be deprived if he had to do without. Did they ever say what the couple did for a living?

They were looking in Long Island.  Wife was definitely overbearing and also wish they had said what they did for a living.  Think the husband was on Wall Street because the realtor said that the husband told him he had a good year, either that or a fellow realtor.

It's actually for a good cause. There's a campaign called "The Polished Man" that raises money and awareness for child abuse. Craig is one of their ambassadors. It's sweet.

You are right.  Just looked this up.  Apologies to Craig

Sadie is insufferable. She better get cut next week. And take Ivy with her. Ivy is just too ON all the time for me.

Unfortunately, it's looking like the producers of the show are setting  Ivy up for the win.

I liked the 3rd house in the Denver episode.  Evidently the low ceilings were a drawback they couldn't overcome.  Who thinks it's a great idea to install a garage door in a living room?  I think a folding wall of windows would have been more attractive and practical.

Totally agree, while I liked the idea of fully opening the access area, the hardware fittings on the interior of that garage door looked strange in that living area.

I didn't get where the money came from either, but I wasn't paying close attention during the first few minutes. Maybe a huge inheritance? If you had that much money for a property, why not move out a little further and get something nicer for your budget and where you wouldn't have to rent out your driveway or downstairs for some stranger's junk.  I just could not fathom moving into that place they chose. It looked like a total gut job. Did you see the black (from filth) bathtub???

Certainly he didn't get that money from being a standup comedian..

  10. I'm calling foul on last night's show.  First off Ivy in the top three making a tamale dish using fermented corn when she has never had one even though it was suppose to be a family tradition on her mother's side, followed by if you look closely in the challenge she is walking back to her station from where?  The elimination of the two who got sent home was a surprise since Gordon criticized Sadie and Jalia dish more.  Think that the producers thought Mathew's time on the show had come to the end and the girl he got paired up was collateral damage.

Jai was so funny this episode. Caucasian Corners and WASPington slayed me. And his payback at the end for Will's bonding session was perfect. Also Standish going to hug Will and saying "excuse me" to the guy on the floor.

Hate-flirting is a perfect term for how Will and Frankie communicate. Love it.

Also loved Jai's comment about how he loved driving in Mumbai during the car chase.

Wasn't there an episode earlier in the season where Jamie shows Eddie a different venue where I thought she agreed to get married at? I could be misremembering. I think is was the episode where Jamie was paired up with an older male cop, who described he wedding or something. Like I said, I could be remembering it all wrong.

That was for their reception.  Church was always given for the ceremony.

I know.  They are traditionally worn with morning suits.  My father wore one when he and my mother got married.  But these ones were so big and puffy! They just looked off.

They also wore them at my wedding.  Think it's a personal style preference if they are worn wide apart or as in my husband's case, pretty much overlapping.

Those yellow and blue ties were very distracting.  They were so...big.

It's actually called a cravat and an appropriate choice for tails that they wore.

Agree to all of this!!  She was super annoying when the husband/boyfriend was excited about watching movies with the kids in the nice finished basement and she complained because she wanted everyone upstairs with her.  Seriously?  And the stove had to be in the island because she didn't want her back to everyone while she was cooking.  But in true HH fashion, they or should I say SHE, picked the house with everything she whined about the most.  On a vain note, she needs to buy her clothes at least one size larger.  And if I never see a marriage proposal on HH again, that would be great!

She could literally crush her soon to be his new husband.

What a lovely family!  Such a refreshing episode!  That woman raised a couple of gems.  They had a modest budget, were very reasonable about their wants/needs and, in the end, so very proud that she was able to realize her lifelong dream of owning a place of her own with help from her sons.  They were so adorable together, too.  Their interactions were so loving and funny and just heartwarming.  I was grinning ear to ear watching them look at houses.  I think they made the best choice, too and, imagine, someone who was willing to wait and save and make the changes she wanted as she could afford them!  How did they get on this show? The bonus room really was a great space, too.  The son, aside from being so loving and warm, was a real cutie too.  Probably my favorite episode ever. Wonderful people, modest budget, realistic expectations, what was not to love?

One of the best episodes ever.  Great down to earth people.  HH needs more people like this.

Of course Ivy is safe... Ivy smacking her fists as she said I’m the older sister. Does it mean she hits her younger sister?

Sadie is a feminist I died laughing.  I think Malia will win. The finale will be Malia versus Ivy...

Think that Ivy is also somewhat mentally challenged.  Watching her slapping her hands like that and seeing her youtube videos makes me think this.
