Strong episode tonight - interesting case what initially appeared to be an ordinary art robbery turning out to be masterminded by the warlord to sell for weapons - good storyline and I liked how the team put all the pieces together and tracked them down. Good case and good role for each team member. The personal subplot with Ray was fine and I like Ray Sr, father and son have nice rapport. I did wonder why no one was following the art dealer guy who wound up dead with his thumb cut off, they suspected he might be involved so it seemed like they would have someone on him? I suspected Alicia from the museum of being involved but I didn’t know how it would play out.
This show has consistently good cases and I like each team member.

And mixed up, the way she switched back and forth between accents depending on who she was with.   I wish she could have seen with her own eyes that Adisa was planning to kill her.

Funny to see Kevin Kilner (Dax) after all these years.  I think the last time I saw him he played the big-nosed father of Roz's boyfriend in Frasier, and before that he starred in the first season of Earth Final Conflict.   That seems like a lifetime ago.

    Nice upbeat ending.

Guess Alicia has forgotten about the nice life she has led all these years in the USA with her adoptive parents.

It does look like Christina is set to win.  They keep showing her all the time and Nyesha always has her hands in Christina's food helping fix everything.  She was crimping her pasta for her this time.  That does not seem fair.  The other chefs only make suggestions, not actually handle the food.

And Christina is so proud of her eyebrows, that she had to announce on tv where you can get your's done.

I finally saw the Boise, Idaho episode, and one thing especially, had me scratching my head. One of the houses was only partially fenced in the backyard; I believe it was either the realtor or the buyer's sister who said something to the effect that oh yes, we will have to have the seller take care of that before selling. I was like what the heck? I've never heard of a buyer asking a seller to take care of fencing a yard for them. I mean, I know during home inspections some major problems come up and it's customary to ask the seller to take care of the issue or issue a credit. But fencing a yard? Most definitely, not. At least not in my neck of the woods.

Definitely agree.  Seller doesn't have to fence remaining property.

Fish boils are a Door County thing. While boiled fish sounds icky, it is delicious. We go to one every time we're up there.

I've been to a bunch of supper clubs and agree with the poster who mentioned the specials -- fish fry on Friday, prime rib on Sat and chicken on Sunday -- with a regular, very meat and potatoes menu as well. I love a good supper club. The owners of the Harvey House said they were inspired by the Wisconsin supper club. Looking at the menu, it's not a traditional one by any means. I had to laugh at the $18 relish tray. That is ridiculous, IMO.

Loved Dan winning with the relish tray! I have fond memories of the relish tray when I was a kid, just like he did. The veggies were so crisp and cold. There was usually a port wine cheese spread with hard breadsticks, a liver or fish dip that my parents loved. Sometimes really good cottage cheese. Served on a cold lazy susan. I loved spinning it to get see what was on there. What can I say -- I'm old and it was a simpler time :)

Totally agree about the menu at that Harvey House restaurant.

The Idaho buying sister should listen to her mortgage broker sister more often when it comes to spending money.  The mortgage sister (cannot remember her name) had some good advice about buying a house when it came to the amount a person qualifies to buy, and what they can actually afford, as well as things that can be upgraded later after the buyer has lived in the house for a while.  The realtor friend also chimed in a couple of times about what could be delayed in changing.

I wasn't too impressed with the size of the houses and the high prices, and Boise has become very expensive evidently.

Wasn't impressed with the buyer either.

So a supper club is... just a restaurant?

Check the menu on the restaurant featured.  The prices aren't exactly mom and pop type of place and they also served black truffle mac and cheese which isn't folksy either.

  7. Once again, they bring out the cooked red lobster and try to pass it off as an uncooked lobster.  Don't they realize that tv shows are shown in color.  Quite easy to spot a cooked lobster.  Stop trying to pass it off as raw already.

Royal Oak, Michigan. Wtf is arts and craft style? Do they mean Craftsman? And his best friend seems more like a mom substitute. I agree with her that #3 seems like the perfect size for him. Luckily, that was in a good location but wow, he had to pay a lot over asking.

Any guesses why he is still single at age 39?  Think he will always stay single unless he changes his ways.

Ha, maybe she'd ask for financial aid.  The selective private schools in NYC do boast of (and I do mean literally) of having a certain number of financial aid recipients. To promote diversity or to look charitable.  Whatever.

But usually it's not a full ride.

This was kind of a weak episode.  The beef between Frank and Erin about his coming to see her about that car was so jacked up for no reason.  She should have just said thanks for letting me know, I'll take care of it.

    Voodoo story, just weird.

Looks like Baez will date the new detective.  Good for her.

The school discrimination story was also weak.  The captain was ready to enroll her daughter in the school if she got accepted even though it would have been improper!  I have heard of anti police sentiment in these circumstances, so it probably exists.  The school principal was such a moron too.  As soon as she heard the person was a cop she shuts down the interview instead of continuing so she doesn't tip anyone off.

And once again Eddie gets on her high horse of injustice. Have to wonder where the police officer was going to come up with the tuition money to send her daughter to the private school.  They are always on the really expensive side, especially in a big metropolitan area.

  11. Once again, the fake lobster drama.  It was very obvious from the get go that his lobster was already cooked when he started his dish.  The dish was bright red and the flesh opaque.  No wonder his lobster was tough with all that over cooking.

Not gonna lie, I was wondering how she would go to the bathroom in that thing.

She looked like a hooker in that outfit and makeup.  Who goes to a roller skating looking like that.

Are you referring to when he was in his trailer after watching the judging, while waiting to hear results were in, when he had "a moment" (got a little overwhelmed and teared up) and, in answering the producer's question as to what he was thinking, said he grew up an inner city kid, and now he's among these big-name chefs and it's a lot, he never really thought he'd be here, and he still pinches himself sometimes?

Because POC sharing their experiences and feelings aren't playing a card, and certainly not in a situation like that, but I just skimmed the episode for his comments and I can't find anything else this might be referring to.

No, it was when he was facing Manett that he said that remark.  Back it up and look it up.

I was glad that Jet's cook off was shown first so I didn't have to worry about it for much of the show.  I just want him to win this so he can stop being so hard on himself.

I like Britt and it's obvious she's good at what she does but I loooooove Amanda so I was disappointed when she lost.  I didn't see the big-small on her plate though and it seems the judges didn't either.

The third round had me conflicted.  I like Antonia and Kevin both.  I hated to see him lose but he did great for his first appearance and Antonia has tried and tried again so I was happy for her.

Maneet is a much better chef than I ever realized from watching her on Chopped for years but her success has inflated her ego to an annoying level.  I was rooting for Tobias.

Jet vs. Antonia is going to make me a nervous wreck even though I know it was over months ago.

Very disappointed that Tobias felt the need to pull out the race card.  This competition is made up of many cultures in both the contestants, commentators and judges.  Thought it was a little too much and uncalled for.

I agree with you!  Every single person that has died on the show, Thony is responsible.  Every bad situation that people have gotten into, Thony is responsible.  The showrunners clearly think that the viewers are cheering Thony on.  I'm waiting for the episode that someone puts a bullet right between Thony's eyes!

I use to really like this show and couldn't wait for this season to start.  Now, I can't stand it.  Hope it gets cancelled.
