Westchester County, NY: I wish they'd identify the city, the county is large. The property tax rates vary widely from town to town (driven by business density) it can have such a huge impact on monthly payments.

I liked them and the options. Not surprised they chose the colonial with the lowest price tag. Aside from the lack of central air, it seemed to be nicely remodeled and fit their needs.

It was in Tuckahoe, New York.

  2. Curious where all that down payment money is coming from on the Chicago buyers.  He just finished expensive medical school and is about to start his residency.  Not a lot of money there with long work hours.  Maybe she is the major breadwinner in this relationship.  She was certainly  being  very theatrical with all her hand gestures.

I noticed the SAME THING....I got the impression that her "brand" of marketing herself on the social scene was based upon her thin figure with very thin legs and HER BELIEF that she was "forever young" (like a fading movie star).☺️

Her hair was absolutely horrible but I bet she didn't think so.

They never made ANY REFERENCE to her having a viable career and the home she bought was $600K so maybe she got a great "severance package" from her former husband.

Another remark that she made stuck with me:  The realtor made mention of the fact that she was living ALONE and she responded (as an aside);  "I won't be living alone for long."😄

Picked up on that one too along with the reference to the person who was up late with her decorating the place for the big reveal.  It certainly wasn't her daughter's name.

Charleston, SC - I thought the woman was trying out for a role as Barbie (or Barbie's mom) in a movie or something.  She must have rec'd a nice divorce settlement given her budget, and I believe that was a Range Rover she was driving.  I found it hard to concentrate on the houses she was touring because I was distracted by the hair, false eyelashes, clothing, etc.

The townhouse the best option for her, IMO, and the reveal showed it nicely furnished.  I kind of thought there might be pink everywhere, but it wasn't over the top.

Went back and rewatched this show in slo motion and noticed that she was shown driving two different makes of cars.  The one shown at the end definitely was a range rover and the one at the first house was a mercedes.  Have to wonder if they were supplied by the show or not?

You beat me.  We only did 16 moves but we weren't in the military.

  6. Cincinnati couple were an interesting combination.  Personally thought her tatted arms were hideous.  Looks like something she did after they got married going by the wedding picture they showed.  One of those daughters sported a really interesting  hair style also.  That baby's room was a real trip hazard with all those toys strewn all over the floor.

Chicago couple expecting baby- I liked them too. See HH, it isn't that hard to have 2 pleasant people on. Enjoyed all 3 choices. Elevator would have been really nice, but they made the right choice. Liked their realtor too. Just a fun episode.

The wife really reminded me of Flip Wilson when he put on the female wig and assume the role of the  Geraldine character.

New Orleans: Last night we had Dead Dad Lady and tonight it's My House Burned Down Lady. Do you really need a "hook" to be on House Hunters? She talked about safety measures the most at the third house (his childhood home) so I knew that's the one they picked.

He seemed a little immature. I wish the grandfather had also brought a tree to plant for the woman's daughter. But he said at the beginning that things wouldn't get "serious" until his son's kid was born, so maybe they're not that close to the daughter (maybe she has other grandparents nearby - I hope so).

Couple buying their first home together in Worcester MA. I kind of hate Meg right off the bat, with her introduction including such hits as "I think it's so fun to bother my husband when he's trying to work at home" and her teeny-tiny chopping of onions (to be fair, people chopping fruits and vegetables into teeny-tiny pieces during their introduction is a pet peeve of mine) and her slooooooowly peeling a squash (?) and her "only MY family knows the value of a dollar."

She had to have a dining room and for some reason it had to be BIG, even though they will never have people over. For me she just sucked the joy out of the whole show. I laughed out loud at house 3 when she said "I'm trying to be open-minded to this process." Heaven forbid I ever meet Meg in a closed-minded mood.

I loved the house they bought and its nice flat yard.

And she kept on dragging her dead father into the scenario.  Can't see this marriage lasting.

I guess Wolfie got married this weekend. His wife looked beautiful, her dress was stunning! I wish Valerie hadn't blocked me so I could see the pictures, LOL

While the bride did look great, the groom is a picture of a walking heart attack.  He really needs to lose weight.  Terribly unhealthy.

  11. Another manufactured drama for this show.  There were hotel pans of already fried chicken on those counters when the camera started panning the whole kitchen at the beginning of the show.  And the fried chicken from the women's team that Gordon lauded was clearly over fried and burned in some parts.

Methinks Ramsay was more than a little annoyed at Tad describing himself as "A professional Quidditch player." (Chef, please. Nobody's paying you to hop around with a broom clenched between your legs, pretending you're soaring around Hogwarts. And if nobody's paying you, you're not a professional. You just have an eccentric hobby.) Notice how when Tad waited a beat after elimination, GR sarcastically asked if he was waiting for a broom, then slammed Quidditch in his closing remarks.

Jason is a byproduct of our litigious culture. Many employers are afraid of being sued for Defamation if they give a bad reference, so few even give references anymore (they'll give your starting and ending dates, but that's it). Without anyone saying "This dude's a total screwup who can't even poach goddamn lobster meat", his resume looks impressive, so he keeps getting hired until people figure out he's hopeless and can him. Rinse and repeat.

I think the whole quidditch nonsense was manufactured drama.  Gordon isn't that old that he hasn't seen a Harry Potter movie, especially with all the children they have.  I'm considerably older than he is and I even know what the quidditch game is.

Charleston, WV. Wonder what effect homeschooling will have on the kids' activities. I liked house #2. I would keep the monkey and gorilla. #3 seemed to need the most work. Guess it worked for them.

Not sure why she was worried about having children on a different floor than the master. They weren't toddlers or very young.

Waterfront in Farmington, CT? Must be talking about the river since Farmington is in the middle of the state. It is a pricey area and some of the towns around it are even more ridiculous. I'll have see if I can find the episode. Rarely are they in CT.

They bought down in Westbrook Ct.

I liked them. I always listen to commute times. I get that many commuters don't drive to work 5 days a week, but an hour each way three or more days- yikes. I'd take a less nice house over 2 hours in the car.

In this case, they were both in Upper Marlboro, Md.  Long commute  for both of them.
