  1. Oh, my heart and stomach! The very thought. Hoping against hope next week’s (month’s) episodes are better. Read where the family’s winter vacay this year is to Dubai, etc., so it sounds like all involved are doing well and have a stake in maintaining the quality that’s made the show a hit, if a minor one.
  2. Personally, I don’t miss Lance at all, but maybe his anti-authoritarian shtick is needed now & then; but in small doses. I watched a few early seasons shows and think I’ve figured out what was missing, for me, in S4E1: Dixie & Jedi. My semi-educated guess is that the post-production folks threw this together in a rush. It was fine, but it was hurried. Lots of Ryan - again which is fine, but Dix & Jed are necessary for some “pop” in the tale of the rehab. And I heart Ashley completely until this episode, where (IIRC) she’s kind of giddy and almost cutesy. Had more than enough of that from Erin Napier and before her, Chip Whosis. Hoping the remaining new eps are way more than “fine,” again. Oh, also - keep Chase’s kids out of the design process on tv. I don’t know why, the thing with his young son annoyed me. Loved that the kid knew to “stable” the wheels for the bench, but I could’ve seen it in a flashback with VO, or something. Thats all I got
  3. Watching it a second time without distractions, it was fine. Still can do without any children as part of the process (though I didn’t mind when the cousins did something ancillary like making the xylophone for the YMCA playhouse a couple years ago, or when they got their ponies from Vengeful Lance, hee). Like that Chase’s new intro mentions that they are best friends. That’s a lot of what I enjoy - the respect and cheerful teasing that goes on amongst them. The woodcarver was cool; loved all the references to how they used stuff from the cabin iwner’s Family’s (junk) pike along with whatever Chase had on-hand in his Yep! Still a super fan.
  4. EDITING TO SAY ... Just rewatched and enjoyed it immensely. It must’ve been my IRL woes that made me critical. So: Uh oh.... I had a similar response a few minutes in , but put it down to distractions IRL. Things that are still bothering me now, a few hours after half-attentively watching it: the arrival by train. I totally get using local touristy/historical features - but the episode spent way too much time on the 3 of them and the dog aimlessly wandering around the railcar The computer graphic of plans, rather than Chase’s whiteboard sketching. The inclusion of Chase’s kids. Granted, the boy is pretty sharp to think of stabilizing the wheels on the bench, but I don’t want to see the kids. I’ll watch it again more attentively and comment - maybe. I hope my dissatisfaction with life in general was the problem, not the show.
  5. If this is her attitude and her interview with People Lite, I’m betting Thanksgiving.
  6. True, but I’d like the proportions reversed. More gawking, less ear-covering.
  7. I had totally forgotten about this mishigas until I wondered Who the mincey-voiced announcer was on the Cards’ Fox Sports broadcasts. (Waving @ShawnaLanne!) Ugh, nasty-ass Edmonds. Catching up with MKE news is the last thing I wanted to do, but I’m a pigeon for local celeb dirt and cute kids for whom I’m not responsible. From accounts several years ago, MKE and one of her brothers (at least) are ambitious and have parlayed a little effort (IMO) into big returns. Having never wanted more than the basics, I don’t understand an ounce of this, but I will say: If Meghan is as shrewd as she seems to be, she’ll keep The Bank Of Edmonds open and busy for the rest of her and her children’s natural lives, Hart especially. She has the money, visibility and resources to bring the child’s condition to the fore, helping to create awareness, research efforts, resulting treatments and improvements in quality of life for those with the condition. Rich people throughout history have continued luxe lifestyles and even benefited the world beyond themselves while living without emotional or physical intimacy. The Edmonds can, too. I do hope she’s fibbing about leading her little girl in prayers that mommy & daddy love each other again. That’s way too much info for a 2- or 3-year-old child to process. Ask God to bless us, each and every one, and you and your husband, behave yourselves around the wee ones. He’s probably not there very often; it shouldn’t be difficult. And now, STL is very comfortably ahead of the Rockies. Time to mute the tube and turn up The Mighty MOX. Even if the video is on delay, it’s better than hearing The Master Debater prattle on. He’s really annoying, even if you don’t know his rap sheet [sic].
  8. Browsing on a lazy night and got a kick out of the oldie above. Especially the part about “viewers don’t enjoy the informercial aspect,”. Oh ho ho were we ever wrong - or does Bravo not give a good gosh durn about viewer opinions — hyping recently released feature movies in 2019, for cryin’ loud out??? Ha!
  9. I thought the same from my viewing of the first episode. This morning when I heard that Ed Smart (Father of Elizabeth) had come out and left the LDS Church, I though of Brauny’s husband. Fathers of many can indeed turn out to be gay. Editing: I added this after reading somewhere back on page 3 or so. As others mention above, there’s no real cause to suppose anyone’s orientation. I’m just feeling both relieved and sad for the Smart Family. But they’ve been thru lots, lots worse.
  10. I remembered Shannon Nine Lemons fondly so glanced at this premiere. Only she and Kelly interest me and honestly, her OTT reactions to meeting somebody new took the air out of any interest I had in re-visiting the franchise. As with NYC, 99%!l of the enjoyment of these shows is seeing your comments, here. So, I might be back, just for all y’all. ”Dead Sea Squirrels,” indeed!!!
  11. The late, great Maureen O’Hara named her only child (daughter) Bronwyn. However!—, Ms. O’Hara was born & raised in Ireland and was bilingual in English & Gaelic. “Braunwyn”is not the spelling I’d use.
  12. Harry Potter Easter eggs in FB? I’m going to be looking big time for those! Does anybody remember one that you can share, to help get me started? Chiming in with thanks for this forum. I have 3 of my favorite episodes on DVR and play them when I need a dose of cozy (yes!) stories about friends on a mission. Bunty’s wardrobe rocks. The Inspector does a great job at being the Establishment against which father and his buddies slyly rebel in their crime solving. I really just like everything about the show!
  13. Interesting takes on Zlu’s Missing chip! i wonder how much that played into the demise of her marriage to the no-Count!
  14. Perfection!! One of the few things I heard and I thought it was Andy.
  15. I watched about a total of 10 minutes of alll.three.epidodes. And confirmed what I’ve suspected: the fun in this show is not the show. It’s coming here to read y’alls’ commentary and witticisms. And to catch your excellent commentaries on things like the indefensible expectations for women in our society, etc., and did I mention y’alls’ wit? Carry on, primetimers! You are the stars.
  16. Bad fish, love it! Prof. Wikipedia told me she was all that you said, but also genuine about it. No posing to get attention. That was how she lived her life: boldly. There were several quotes about her that stood in stark contrast to BF. I enjoyed reading about a woman who was genuinely what she acted like. Good palate-cleanser after the situational ethics of the HWs.
  17. Hugs from here, @Claire Voyant. A woman I’m peripherally acquainted with called 911 because her husband had fallen. When the crew arrived, *she* was unresponsive and died within hours. Stress can, and does, do great harm.
  18. @smores!! Would you be willing to share the site that has jewelry made by in-home moms, please? And thank you!!
