  1. The assault on my neighborhood right now would be direct evidence to the contrary. Upon finding a cloth bag with an assload of cash - Me: Ooh, I think I'll build a new home and give 1/2 an assload to charity Neighbors: FIREWORKS!!
  2. Actually, there are an alarming number of states reporting songbird deaths. why-are-songbirds-dropping-dead-in-maryland-delaware-and-west-virginia "Reports of the unknown illness appear to have started in Washington D.C. in mid-May. It’s now being investigated there and in at least eight mid-Atlantic and central states, including Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and West Virginia."
  3. Maybe this will help some of the stressed doggies. Feel so badly for them. Cats too.
  4. Anyone in other states dealing with this mystery? I've had to remove my feeders and tip the birdbaths over, to discourage congregating. So scary and sad. indiana/songbird-deaths
  5. I'm in Indiana, and we have just begun rolling out 10-digit dialing. It becomes mandatory in October of this year.
  6. Confound away sir/madam~ p.s.&b.t.w: Never said never would. Said haven't. 🖖
  7. I wouldn't say rude, but I agree with unprofessional and would add classless. I wouldn't use it as an excuse to not tip however.
  8. I will be corrected probably, but I believe they are found in the same places as one can download music (also, never), and that some are free of cost and others are not. So iTunes, Google Play, Spotify, etc.
  9. It's Thursday, July 1, 2021, and I have a confession to make: I have never listened to a podcast. Any podcast. Ever. <backs slowly out of the room>
  10. *tap*tap* "Is this thing on?" I think I need to develop a podcast... amazon-buys-jason-bateman-sean-hayes-and-will-arnett-s-smartless-podcast-for-80-million
  11. The thing I hate the most about the carpeted cat trees, is the inability to keep them clear of cat hair. I have used any and every method available, and my Onyx's black hair has rooted itself permanently in the top perch especially. As much as I love my kitties, and will miss them terribly when they're gone, I will most definitely NOT miss the kitty condo.
  12. I rented an office next to a gentleman who suffered from bi-polar disorder, and perhaps other things I wasn't privy to. He bootstrapped and owned a business, which was very successful for many years. Then he drank windshield washer fluid in his 3rd attempt at suicide. He survived, not physically unscathed, but returned. Several years later, while out of state on business, his 4th or 5th attempt succeeded. Point of the story is that he was an adult with a certain net worth, who was not under any legal constraints preventing him from living his life freely. Who can say whether a conservator would have changed the circumstances of his life or death? No one here is likely privy to all that took place to convince a judge that she needed a conservator, but the fact that she had at the time, two small children who at times were under her control, may have played a part (and let's face it, the other parent is Kevin Federline 😒). I would like to think that the same actions would have been taken had she been a server in a restaurant, or a massage therapist, making a fraction of that income, but probably not. She is 15 years down the road now. If there have been concerning incidents during those 15 years, then her handlers have managed to keep it from the scent hounds at TMZ. At 40 years old, it is probably time for her to have autonomy over her own affairs, so long as her children's future is secured. I don't have direct knowledge of any harm her father may be responsible for, but in his defense, the next conservator should there be one, will probably earn $16k monthly as well, and that person won't have any personal feelings about her welfare. That may or may not be a good thing. One thing won't change; her life will continue and probably end, in a fishbowl, whether that is 25 or 50 years on. .
  13. Of the two pictured, I would prefer the 2nd one, as it looks like it would be easier to ascend on a fast run, which is how mine usually mount theirs, lol. I looked for one like ours, and this is the closest I could find. New-Cat-Condos Ours has the cylinder at the bottom then four of the curved perches staggered up from there. The curved perches sort of hug them, which cats love. Ours played for hours in the bottom cylinder, and we would toss toys through the top opening. I agree that taller is better. (Also make sure that the perches are large enough for an adult cat. So many of these photos show kittens, young cats on them, distorting how large they really are.)
  14. Since there should be a time record of both the movie and your complaint call(s), I would definitely make a play with Comcast to try and get at most, another free weekend (or day) of HBO, or at least, a free viewing of the movie she was viewing. You'll get neither if you don't ask. p.s.: I despise Comcast.
  15. I worked a 2nd job in a department store for about 5 yrs during the recession which began in 2008-ish. We were selling an all-in-one stereo unit which had a turntable, CD player, cassette tape, etc., and the boss brought in some of his albums to use for demo purposes (no, I wouldn't have either). Anyway, I had a 20 or 21-yr old co-worker whom I dispatched to set up the unit and get the album going on the turntable. He came back about 10 minutes later with a sheepish look on his face, and humbly said to me "I don't know how that works. I can't figure it out." I had just turned 50 not long before that, and that moment sort of defined my transition to I'm not one of them anymore.
  16. Irrational comment in 3..2..1.. If Rob Riggle is anywhere near the douchebag personally that he appears to be professionally, then I'll just say that it couldn't happen to a nicer guy. #TeamTiffany
  17. How much later was the couple divorced, or was it soon enough to be annulled?
  18. While I'm simultaneously saddened and baffled by the lengths this family will go to in turning themselves into anime facsimiles of themselves, I'm not understanding this "blackfishing" accusation. Sounds like an attempt to find something to be offended about. Because there wasn't enough there already. fans-accuse-khloe-kardashian-blackfishing
  19. I feel like most late night (comedy?) talk shows are won or lost by the behind the scenes writing staff. Even though many/most are hosted by folks who have had careers in comedy, or themselves been comedy writers, seems like it's all about how they deliver someone else's work at this point. jmo
  20. I find that enlightening in that my impression, only from viewing him when hawking products, is that he seemed like an asshole with an inflated ego. Just goes to show you...
