His issues appeared to be mental and deep, the least of which was an utter lack of impulse control. Or, I could be misremembering the whole thing, lol.

The only people that I give any slack to about open-mouth coughing/sneezing are the very elderly, and even then it's with a grumble. Same with doing so in their hand. For a person in their 30's or 40's to be doing so indicates that A) they're arrogant assholes, or B) they were raised by wolves.

Okay, don't laugh, but here's what I use to open (most) unopenable jars - amazon Because there is some padding there, they sort of add to the diameter of the lid, making it a little easier to grip, plus the silicone strips/bands grip the item. These are cheaper than the Calphalon branded item that I first owned. I'm only 62, but I am noticing a definite hand strength deficiency. These help.

That's right. Plus, the self-chck lanes aren't built to handle the volume of a full cart, thereby making it extremely cumbersome to do. I told the obviously annoyed manager of our local grocery, when she called me over to the self-check (the manned lanes were 6+ shoppers deep), and stated she "couldn't understand why people wouldn't use self-chck", that it was because A) they aren't set up to clear large orders, and B) we aren't given a discount to do her or anyone's job. She then zipped her lip and scanned/bagged/recarted my order. The arrogance and lack of awareness was maddening, and this was not a particularly young person.
