  1. I watched the last two episodes together, and I think I’m done. If they stuck with the possession of the week stories I’d be ok, but I don’t like Kristen, the children are off-putting, and the Grandma is too stupid a character to be believable. (She let Leland stay in a room on a different level in the house, alone with four young girls, with the door closed? And what kind of adult — male or female — would even be comfortable in that situation? Hello! It’s probably the kind of adult you really don’t want around your kids.) The “my father” plot twist pushed me over the line, though. We’re 7 episodes into the series and we have the missing father, the daughter’s heart issues, the sister’s secret pregnancy, the incel army, and now a daddy mystery. The possessions, prophecies, and psychopaths are the most believable parts of the episodes, and they’re only a small portion of the show.
  2. “Welcome to The Bad Place. Population Your Mom.” The storylines have been Jason-heavy recently, but he’s my favorite at the moment. He’s so dumb but so earnest.
  3. Wow, in the 30+ years I’ve been watching the show I’ve never read or considered this theory. Kudos! I think she still wouldn’t have liked him (he seemed to be universally disliked; even his shrink called him a nudnik) but not as venomously.
  4. Agreed, with the goodbye handshake the coup de grace! Barry Bostwick is in next week’s Halloween episode. We’re doing the time warp, y’all! Controversial opinion: I hated “Rocky Horror” and walked out of the movie. The soundtrack is fun, though.
  5. Oh, good! I thought they weren't going to do a Halloween episode this year (I thought if would've been last night.) Their Halloween shows have been up the with The Simpsons and Roseanne, and my favorite Dina quote -- the one that made me like the show -- was in one. "Oooooh, peer pressure from people I don't respect."
  6. George was either a legit demon or a dream demon in a night terror. He looked like he'd spent a few decades in a tanning bed or meat smoker. I think the grandma character needs to be replaced with a functioning father and the "children in danger" plots should to be dialed back. Grandma only serves as a function to let the girls fall into dangerous situations. I want the girls to stop screaming and talking over each other though I know they're there to make the Mom character vulnerable and stressed, which they can do simply by showing evil in society and Mom's protectiveness/natural parental worry. Let home be her safe spot and ramp up the paranormal investigations. I want to keep this show around but I'm worried the Kings have bitten off more than they can chew, and it'll turn into a "Lost" sorta story but with a child-sized portal to hell in the basement. eta: Teddysmom got there first.
  7. That was part of my favorite cold opening ever. Cam couldn't take her to school at the last minute, so Mitchell called out to rush her. She was already waiting by the door and said she couldn't be late because she'd fall behind. Mitchell rubbed his forehead and said, "Sometimes I forget to factor in the Asian." Episode: A couple things were a little eyeroll-y but overall I liked it. It's early still, but best episode of the season I thought.
  8. This is the show I liked, though I didn't understand why Dina would act nice to Colleen when Dina doesn't pretend to like anyone. A lot happened in the 30 minutes, and it felt true to form. I hope Colleen makes appearances and is not just talked about. And did I miss Glen the Robot? I thought he'd be a background character if nothing else.
  9. I’ve never seen the lead actor in another show. I understand from reading here that he’s been in a popular horror show before. I don’t have that previous affinity or goodwill, so I’m going to say this: his smile is horrible. He looks like he has really bad veneers, and I can’t focus on the show. I think the story has 2-3 seasons in it, and I like the other adult characters, but I can’t watch him.
  10. You’re right. I left a crying emoji on your post because it’s sad how awful the show is now and how far it’s fallen. The people making bank don’t care so why should I. I’m done. The advertisers won’t reach these eyeballs again.
  11. Don’t forget his song “Makin’ It”! I won’t link to it because I end up listening on loop and get an earwig. Takes me days to recover. God speed, Linda. Can’t say I cared for Myrtle’s racism, but she played the part well.
  12. I think they tried to fit too much into the episode, too many characters to step on everyone’s rakes and then form a bond in 30 minutes. It could’ve been written into full length feature film. I’ll give it a few weeks, see how it develops.
  13. Glad Georgie found something he was good at besides tire-leak detective. I want him to have more positive recognition. Didn't like how Sheldon spoke to Mary. Maybe it’s to show he’s getting older and more independent. (I wonder if this counts as his mother having him tested, and he’s not crazy.)
  14. Have they always been able to summon objects? Did I miss something somewhere? Loved the whole thing. The Kars 4 Kids might be worse than the penis bees. And loved how Derek face-planted just like Janet when she got rebooted. Mindy definitely needs some alone time. Will have to watch it tomorrow when it streams to look at the backgrounds. Too much goes on for me to catch them first time around.
  15. I watch for the eye porn. Beautiful people, tight clothes.
  16. I didn't recognize AMH! I was busy picturing John Candy and never paid him any attention. That was a good Easter egg.
  17. All that screaming. And then there were the babies. Only part I enjoyed was Luke walking out of the house after Haley scaled the roof. That must’ve been 3 or 4 seconds.
  18. She was the real deal. Can’t decide how I feel about the episode. Maybe it was a little too much of a remake (homage?) and not enough “inspired by real life” from their family trip. I liked Jeff coming to the rescue. And, as always, I want more Pops!
  19. I really liked the show and think Rob and Joe made the whole thing work, but it can be even better. Overall I think they had a great idea but hadn’t worked it all out and what we saw was heavily edited and assembled in post. There was a lot of filler. There were too many contestants, and we didn’t even get to see some of them. It felt like Rob and Joe filmed their parts afterwards and they were laid in which made it feel less authentic. The guest hosts were wasted — I mean they had William Shatner and Michelle Wie and they got about 2 minutes of air time. The difficulty of the holes was inconsistent. Dutch Courage annihilated players while others only had to putt. The zip line wasn’t an equal challenge given some people’s age or height. Every time they fell on their knees I cringed in pain. Mostly I want to know if Stephen Curry made every single one of those shots onto the green or if he shanked one or two and got a redo. I love Jtmacc’s strategy of getting “stuck” with the robot. I’d take him, too. I look forward to next season. Rob and Joe did a great job.
  20. This felt like a book I didn’t like, but I flipped through the last 100 pages just to finish it. I liked most of the couples except Duffy/Gemma and Kash/Maya though I liked Kash as an individual. My favorite characters however were Basheer and Kash’s father and brother. Maybe we didn’t get to see their foilables which is why I found them appealing. I’d give another season with or without the same characters another try.
  21. Someone I worked with actually said, “I’m off!” and I got to use, “That’d be my diagnosis.” Lolololololol. Everyone paused and then burst out laughing. I gave credit to GG, of course, but I almost couldn’t believe I got to say it. It was so much fun.
  22. They admit they didn’t investigate her claim when she registered it. That in and of itself is a crime. I hope you’re never discriminated against. And now I’m blocking you.
  23. There was a potential crime in space! Doesn’t Horatio have jurisdiction? https://www.cnn.com/2019/08/23/politics/nasa-astronaut-bank-account-first-criminal-allegation-space/index.html
  24. My favorite opening might be “65 Million Years Off” when Shawn draws the dinosaur, all the time having a conniption and apologizing for its quality. He knows he needs to get on the case. I also love that episode for when Chief Vick interrupts the intervention. Lassiter not wanting to tell Shawn he was right (a deadpanned “no”) and her expression when she shares that the victim was a paleontologist were so well acted.
  25. I don’t catch much TV in real time, but I’d always include this in my streaming line-up. No more. I hope Afton gets a large enough settlement to set her up for life.
