I agree with you. I do remember Janelle saying that they didn't want a therapist that would tell them (truthfully!) that polygamy was their problem! Imagine paying money for therapy, and saying a big NO to hearing the honest truth! SMH

I agree. I thought about poor Bayley seeing James K's junk (if it could be seen under all that fat), and aren't these people ashamed for doing that? Of course not. FUBAR.

Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
xwordfanatik replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I saw two ads for local yard sales that mentioned LuLaNo, coming this weekend. One said $5 for each piece. I may check it out for shits and giggles, just because I can walk there and peruse the unsellable stuff. Yes, Christine looks like she wears appropriate sized clothing. Apparently Meri doesn't realize that she (Meri) looks even heavier than she probably is, by wearing too-tight everything. How delusional. -
Growing up in the Seattle area was nice. I learned to drive in the late 60's, before the traffic was overwhelming. Now when we visit, I leave the driving to Mr. Xword. If I had to navigate I-5 or the other freeways/highways nowadays, I couldn't cope. The only other thing I dislike is the rain. One couple we're still in contact with live in Mountlake Terrace. The wife commutes over 50 miles one way, to work. I would go bonkers! My daughter lived in Kirkland while working and attending college, and coped with the traffic very well. She's more like her dad, luckily.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

Taking my response to @LilWharveyGal to small talk. -
Good point. Robyn has to have another Mindy-like helper. Getting down and cleaning house would make Plyg Queen break a nail (or a sweat!) Can't have that happen!

Truely is a cutie. I read somewhere that LuLaNo is discontinuing the kid's clothing line. That seems like a mistake. Kids make some (only some) of the prints cute. -
That's a good point. Bilingual personnel are preferred in lots of service/office type jobs.

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

No, the Northwest state. I've lived here all my 60+ years. Grew up in the Seattle area, relocated east when I got married over 40 years ago. Reading the above post regarding CT and taxes, I feel your pain! We are one of the highest taxed states AFAIK. Gas taxes are terrible, and sales taxes are high, too. Love, love, love to visit OR, no sales tax! But they do have a state income tax, which WA does not (so far.) It'll probably come sooner or later. Janelle, dear, you're slipping. You forgot to call peppermint tea a "rock star." -
Season 11 Spoilers, Speculation and Social Media

Many years ago, a river near us in WA froze, and looked like a bunch of ice chunks. It happens to us Northwesterners! I don't believe the Columbia River between WA & OR freezes, but I could be wrong. We've driven over the bridge there several times, but never in the dead of a harsh winter! I love your speculation about Kootie & the Gang building the gigantic plyg house, if there's a next season. Hey, if the Duggbots can get TLC to build them a tinker toy house, why not? LOL -
You are right about Savanah. Janelle doesn't seem like she'd have the energy to haul herself out of the house to take Savanah to swimming lessons or the library (you can tell I'm old, I did those things with my daughter, besides working full-time.) She is at best an indifferent mother, seems to me. Sad, again.
-
I only had one sister growing up. I can't imagine what it's like to clamor for a parents' attention, when there are 13 kids (before Queenie Robyn) and 18 eventually. I always think of Truely as the forgotten child, as Kootie was only focused on Queenie from before Truely was even born. Yes, it does seem that Mykelti and Gabriel had to act the way they did to get noticed, at all. Sad.
-
Yes, it was very telling that Aspyn ended up at Robyn's, and not bonus mother Meri's house. All those empty BR's at Meri's and Aspyn preferred to squeeze into a much more crowded home. Master of Stealth Robyn no doubt benefitted somehow, like even more help with her kids. Wasn't Mindy there, as well? Mykelti seems to always have been Christine's problem child, like Gabe was with Janelle.

But, but, but...the Browns are special! Nothing but the biggest and best for the persecuted plygs! Wasn't it Christine that said she was going to "go big or go home" when those McMansions were being built? Well, big isn't always best, apparently.

Season 11 Spoilers, Speculation and Social Media

The houseboats in Portland, OR appeal to me. I would have to downsize tremendously for that to happen. So it probably won't. Still, I can see the minimalist lifestyle having its appeal. I'm sentimental about my stuff. It never bothered my mom or my sister to get rid of things, but it's hard for me to part with things. Poor Kootie! Half his wives are packrats. Even so, those huge rentals have to be excessive, especially Queen of Plygs Robyn's. -
Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)
xwordfanatik replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
Washingtonian here. The scariest thing I've encountered was a black widow. My daughter was very young then (late 80's) and it was on our front porch. I took off my sandal and smacked it. I don't kill other spiders, but black widows are dead where they sit. Luckily, I haven't seen one since. The weather here is beautiful now. We're having a later Spring than usual. No tornadoes here, low humidity, sunny weather most days, even in winter. The only scary things that happen are an occasional earthquake, or even more rare, a volcano blowing up (1980.) Janelle should find out what Christine's doing, eating and exercise-wise. It would have to be better than "Strife." -

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

I keep both my fingernails and toenails short, and nicely groomed. If anyone wants to see horrifying long, curled-under toenails (with God-knows-what-kind-of-germy-bacteria), there are pictures galore online. I saw some on the People of Walmart site years ago, and they were nauseating. It could be that Janelle can't trim her toenails because her gut is huge. I'm not fat-shaming. I used to be overweight, and it was tough to do then. Nice that she can afford a pedicure. Even now, being normal weight, I still cringe at the idea of someone else working on my feet. YMMV. -
Halston! Now in my head, I'm watching John Travolta dancing with Donna Pescow. Can you picture Mykelti and FT disco-dancing in polyester? Lucky for us, Smell-O-Vision doesn't exist yet?

Well now, you've hit upon something the Brown Clowns don't do a lot of. Thinkingk. The "k" was intentional. I am guessing that the Brownies do not use Janelle for their (most-likely?) creative tax returns. Lord only knows what they get for deductions, besides their dependent kids. If Mariah isn't a certified yoga instructor, with legitimate credentials, I don't see how this trip could be a tax write-off. But what does a lowly monogamist worked-for-over-30-years-of-my-life person like me know about it?

Janelle Brown: Smarter Than Your Average Brown (Maybe)

Absolutely right. Everyone with more than two brain cells to rub together knows the importance of washing produce. Has Janelle never heard of eColi or Salmonella? Surely she has to be clueless about what most everyone already knows, or she thinks her subscribers (all three of them) are as dumb as a fence post. -
He's much too cute for Meri. My gaydar is pinging, too. Ooh, and he drinks? Kootie would shit bricks. FOTY gave side-eye to Logan at Aspyn's wedding for having, what, a beer? Was the Meri's crush guy on that cruise hawking LuLaNo? I'd have to subtract points from his appeal, if he was in fact a seller of that crap.

Cat lady here, too. ❤️ Which brings me back to our introvert/extrovert discussion. Generally speaking, are introverts (like me) more apt to have a cat, and extroverts more likely to have a dog? Not asking you specifically, meowwww, although I'd love to know what you think, too. A last thought. Paraphrasing George Carlin, "I like people. I just like them in short bursts." That describes me pretty well. I'll have to check out Zillow and Realtor.com. I'm sure the day will never come when I can afford half a million for a house. Lucky I'm not planning to move to Seattle, SoCal, or apparently, LV!

I remember that peel-off nail polish. My daughter had that in the 80's. Racks of LuLaNo, soon to show up at the nearest thrift store. That seems to be a thing. Wait, what am I saying? The Browns don't believe in donating.

She's going for some yoga certification, it seems. What a speshul snowflake Mariah is! Grad school is such a snap, she can skip finals. Mother Meri has $ to burn, apparently. Could that be why Kootie & the Gang were so worried, that Meri wasn't going to move to Flag? Like Meri would actually share her LuLaNo earnings. HaHa.
