  1. A "zine" is slightly different than a magazine: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zine. So hate him, but not for that. That aside, I disliked him as well, and I'm from Pittsburgh too and always root for my hometowners. But he's such a strain of new hipster with the OTTBs that I can't stand.
  2. Right? And Toby is also an in-law. I thought the in-laws were close, with their text chain. Toby is just as much of an "outsider" as Miguel is; maybe more since Miguel has been around that family forever. And he's so burned out and stressed...yet he can make a joke like that? So mean.
  3. That stressed me out. How long were they there? They couldn’t rotate and each go home for a little bit? The previews...are they seriously bringing Sophie back? They do not know what to do with Kevin!
  4. Omg I was, like, twitching during these scenes. Jack handled it very well. I would've been pulling my hair out.
  5. Agreed - because it was baseball-related, he preferred that his dad be there. My son is the same way (eyeroll).
  6. Idk...I still like this show but the mom's comments are wearing real thin. We get it, they're lax 70s parents for whom money is tight. Not EVERY comment she makes has to be something about that. I mean, Eddie could've DIED from that fall. I don't buy Wendi's outlook on sexual harassment. For girls her age even in the 80s and 90s, it was so ingrained in society that hardly anyone took a step back to look and analyze. I mean, maybe I'm just projecting, ha, but it's hard to see a high school girl having that perspective. More likely she just suffered through it and thought "this is how it is".
  7. Oh my gosh, young Kevin just breaks my heart.
  8. You didn't find the Rosa Parks question challenging? 😄
  9. Agreed, but OMG is Kate one of those annoying pregnant women. How many times in the last two episodes has she reminded someone that she's pregnant? Even telling that college kid in her big speech about the Star Wars toys. Lady, this 18 yo kid does NOT care. Neither do we. Also, I know she eventually came around but her initial attitude about selling those toys was so obnoxious. Like, she could not have cared less. Gah they have made her so unlikeable. Jack was the Best Alcoholic ever, though. We never really saw any bad behavior toward his family because of it. Never saw him reeling around drunk. People with real alcoholism in their families would love to have Jack. So unrealistic.
  10. Am I misremembering, or didn’t Alex used to NOT explain the categories for DJ? Like if there’s a letter in quotation marks, they used to just say it but not explain?
  11. Ok, I laughed out loud at Jay with the bunny filter on the conference call 😆. And I still enjoy the “double click” running joke.
  12. “Looks like [whatever kid]’s putting his D+ in wood shop to good use” 😂. Michael Cudlitz is killing it in this show!
  13. Omg could this Christopher in the middle talk any sloooower
  14. Ugh Dave was the worst. Even my 11-year-old said he looked like a "douchebag", ha.
  15. "Oh so now someone cares about spelling" had me rolling
  16. Am I the only one wondering how this past Jack becomes the fun, gregarious, romantic gesture Jack that we see once they have kids?? Maybe it's having kids that changes him...but I can't even see this Jack going to watch the Steelers game in a bar and have fun, like they did before kids. It's like two different people, and I cannot tell what Rebecca sees in him. I think Squirrel's parents would like to hear stories about their boy that they never knew, but I don't think they would like having to comfort this guy who showed up at their door. They lost a son. Take your guilt elsewhere.
  17. The argument with the parents over the produce was so funny. The dad saying that canned goods don't dictate when you can eat them, like fresh produce does. Hee hee!
  18. Ugh it's such a TV trope to flush pills down the toilet. He could've just...not taken them. Or thrown them in the garbage can.
  19. Oh shut UP Kate. Your singing telegram client does not need to hear about your life of problems. Seriously. Your dad died, and you had a miscarriage. Nothing thousands of people haven’t gone through also. Oh and you have a supportive family and husband. Please cut it out!
  20. I will give Randall some leeway, because his girls were the only blood relatives that he knew (at the time, before he met William). Maybe he just wanted to have a bio relationship with someone.
  21. When does Jack turn into the fun dad that we know? Because this early Jack is melodramatic and broody, and not in an attractive way. I doubt Jack's mom would've just moved out so quickly when she did. Especially for a woman of that time. It felt wrong to me that she just did it at Jack's one suggestion. SO glad Beth spoke up at the end. Wasn't she the only one working at that point? Randall would drive me crazy with his Big Idealistic Goals. Now you're going to run for mayor or whatever?! I love parts of their relationship, but man he would drive me crazy.
  22. This show is BACK. I laughed out loud at the court sketches. The artist himself was hilarious - as was the reason he was mad at C and M. The millennials in the new company were spot on. And Phil is just always great. ❤️
  23. 1. I sort of liked the Immaculate Reception tie-in, and interesting how they portrayed Harris’ family. But I’m from Pittsburgh, so. Pretty sure he won’t be a recurring character. 2. Rebecca couldn’t buy her own umbrella at the fair? Or treat him to something since he paid their admission? 3. If a guy gave me that “I feel at home with you” speech on a FIRST DATE, I would run for the hills. I normally love Jack but the moody drama on this date was not good.
  24. I guessed Alamo just based on "landmark" and "Texas". Also did not care for the proposal.
  25. But that doesn't explain why Kim reacted the way she did, so who knows.
