I actually feel sorry for the children of racists who have been robbed of the opportunity to emulate, love & respect the first African American President. The 12 y.o. son of a cousin of mine is one such child. He has no idea what an amazing man Obama is. I hope he can overcome his upbringing & one day, from an historical perspective at least, understand and appreciate what we've had the past 8 years. I'm gonna miss Obama so much. I disagreed with him quite often, but I always respected him, and I always will. He occupied the Oval Office with honor.

I've walked away from friends/family as well. For me, it just gets to a point where shared experiences, and even shared genetics, cannot overcome a total disconnect in core values. A person is what they do. I cannot abide racism, especially (for the record, I'm a white, atheist, straight male), though someone cramming religion down my throat will get tuned out forthwith.

I think I'm gonna see myself out of online political discussion for awhile. This man & his enablers make me ill. Seriously. Yeah, institution of the Muslim (Drumpf's team is calling it something else) Registry will make the small-brained ones forget about how they are getting royally screwed along with everyone else who isn't residing in Trump Tower. I know we're supposed to be kissing the asses of the economically dispossessed working class white men, but I'll reserve my sympathy for the millions of minority, non-heterosexual, non-Christian, non-male people who started life with a stagger (track term) to make up.

Why did the GOP coin the term "Death Tax" instead of calling it the Inheritance Tax? Because it does the job of deflecting. Both major parties are good at it, but the GOP has deflection/dog whistles down to a science. Dems are gonna get their asses handed to them for the foreseeable future. Sadly, the vast, vast majority of people who voted for Drumpf are gonna get screwed along with those who didn't. Drumpf supporters just don't see it coming.
