I'm still liking my idea of Chase baking the cake. It could even be something he planned in the event he's caught. Then we get the whole, "hey, this cake is good. Wonder who baked it." Cue finding a note from Chase as everyone passes out. And since It would take more to knock out Diggle, he puts up as much of a fight as he can when whoever comes for them shows up, hence the head wound.

Didn't WM say "he" when teasing who's behind Helix though? Unless Lyla put that person in charge of it?

You know, I wish Team Flash would sit Team Arrow down and parade the different versions of Harrison Wells in front of them to help them understand doppelgangers. "Which would you rather help you during a crisis? Hint: not HR." I just hope that if they do try to redeem BS next year, which I don't want them to do because I like when KC plays evil so much more, it's as a good version of who BS was on E2, not an attempt at an E1 LL clone. Imagine next season if BS goes by Dinah, Tinah is still around and Lance's ex-wife comes to visit and somehow they're all in one scene. "Dinah?" "Who?"

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread
insomniadreams88 replied to quarks's topic in Arrow
One of the problems with O/F's breakup is that it's also been played, at times at least, that Oliver got everyone in the breakup, at least emotionally. Yes, they're all still friends, but we haven't seen anyone else really be there emotionally for Felicity. No POV for her last year with the breakup. No one checking on her this year with everything that's happened to her. Imagine if Rory hadn't been around ... So fine, they could've downplayed Oliver and Felicity even though it makes it look like she can be there for him when they're not together but he can't be there for her, but we haven't gotten a reason why no one else is there for her or checking on her. -
Oh it's definitely bad writing because they can spend time on other characters getting/having jobs but not Felicity, Diggle or Curtis. I look at Helix as something at least taking up her time and I could see her not juggling a job while with Helix because of what happened with PT last season. But before she had Helix to take up her time, there was no reason given why she didn't want a job. We can only make assumptions. And apparently take MG's "she has severance from PT" as the in-show reason that was never even mentioned on the show.

Heartaches, Bromances, True Love and Team Arrow: the Relationships Thread

Yeah, that's what I meant - that the other characters think it was more important than it actually was. I see it as Oliver figuring that Felicity thought it was "real" since she was still with him in 509, even though we never saw anything on-screen that suggested it was. -

Yeah, I feel like every time someone brings up Billy and how Felicity is going after Chase because of him, it's basically the writers using the characters to tell us that relationship was more important than it actually was, like WM in her interviews. Meanwhile, nothing we've seen from Felicity suggests that. She got into Helix to help Diggle, did a favor for them to find Susan and was willing to do whatever she had to to find Oliver. Has she even brought up Billy since he died or has everyone else done so first? -
Yeah, it especially bothers me after her S2 "I didn't go to MIT to be a secretary." Shouldn't she also feel like she didn't go to MIT to sit around and just live off a severance check? Sure, now she's doing stuff with Helix and is busy, but during 5A?
-
But considering the multiple mentions of William lately, wouldn't he be "family we're thinking of right now"? Unless WM just means "family we're thinking of right now" in terms of the "family" fighting with Oliver.
-
Please no to BS. Last the team saw her, she was trying pretty hard to kill Felicity. Even if they somehow convince her to help fight Chase - who could probably just tell BS he'll kill her and she'll switch sides in a heartbeat mid-fight - I could then see her turning on the team right after he's defeated. Plus, I'd really like to see them trying to explain how BS would be Oliver's "family" when she's not E1 LL, who barely seemed to rank as Oliver's friend half the time when she was alive. So I'm going to hope they're not going to go the redemption route with her. I just hope they do something more with Talia before the season's over. Right now, it seems like they've forgotten she exists. She walked out of that cell Chase had Oliver in and ... what? Went back to where Oliver found her?

I briefly thought the finale title might be "Purgatory" if not Lian Yu but that's too long for the blacked-out title. I think Lian Yu definitely fits.
-
Me too. And maybe this time, when the chip starts working again, Felicity will choose to stay and continue to talk to Oliver instead of walking away?
-
Yes, he took the time to talk to Felicity then, but this is clearly going to be a conversation that needs more time than that.
-
I think we also have to consider what else is going on at the moment. With Chase out there and whatever's going on with Helix, it's not like Oliver and Felicity would decide to just take time to talk about their relationship right now if they're not trapped, right?
-
I'm not the only one wondering why Felicity and Alena are the only ones not wearing masks, right?
-
I'm thinking comic stans for the same reason you are. Or maybe he thinks that people won't like seeing Felicity and the team in opposition? Has anything been said about how much time is going to have passed between 518 and 519? Will it be a few weeks? If so, has Star City just been doing nothing about Chase being free and leaving him to do whatever he wants as he plans since the manhunt "kicks off" according to the synopsis?
-
Remember, this is the same security detail that told a reporter his whereabouts. They're obviously not very bright.
-
Maybe Chase just really cares about Star City and figured this is the best way to keep it from being destroyed/needing to use more money to repair any damage after the past 4 Mays. He knows that the final battle has to take place in May because that's what's happened every year, but he figures he can switch up the location. Or maybe it's just a matter of "Hey, look what I can do, kidnapping everyone you know and bringing them to the island." Or it's just easier to transport them than it is to free the ARGUS prisoners there and bring them to Star City. Maybe he thinks he won't be able to control them in the city but might have a chance on the island to use them for his endgame?
-
Why? That's just cruel to Lance. BS isn't his daughter. Instead, he's just going to have to see - presumably on multiple occasions, since she's sticking around - someone who looks like his daughter, pretended to be his daughter, tried to kill the team and would probably have no problem trying to kill everyone (likely including him this time) again. Sure, it might be good for one scene to see how he reacts (and to find out if they ever told Lance about BS), but that's about it. And now my 5x22 spec is that Lance is going to wake up on Lian Yu and find BS standing over him.
-
If it's a flashforward, I'd be okay if it's to October and they pick it up and give us any and all answers in the premiere. Don't make me wait until 2018 for answers.
-
She'll probably be wearing stilettos too.
-
Do we think that Chase would even go after a kid? He did kill his own wife, but still. Could be that Chase is hoping to use that as a distraction - while Oliver's tracking down William/going to see him (if he does), Chase is going to do something else, like, say, kidnap Felicity, Diggle, Thea and Lance and bring them to Lian Yu.
-
I think they just wanted that scene to be "cool" - look, the agents get a text, Chase knows he's been outed, so he kills them, one with a pen repeatedly, while his shoulder bleeds through his shirt and he doesn't even care, then he drives all bloody past the cops heading where he was. But it is odd that he didn't plan on Felicity and Helix outing him. Yes, that does seem to suggest that he can't be behind Helix, but I'm sure if they want him to be, they'll come up with some reason why it still works.
