  1. If you're talking about Tran, she's on the show because of Niecy Nash. Niecy Nash has repeatedly given interviews with the other ladies and the show runner, and talks about how she tested with tons of actresses for the role of Virginia when finally she, Niecy, asked the producers if they knew of Karruche Tran, and that they should bring her in for a test. It is solely because of Niecy Nash bringing up Tran to the producers that she even got a chance to read for the part. Now, on a different note, I'm still not understanding exactly how much money in total did Roller owe the Russians, I know it was more than the 150K. The 150K is supposed to settle him up. I don't get why/how exactly he ended up owing them that money, what was the deal exactly? Did he borrow money from them? Or, was he selling some kind of merchandise for them? I hope the show gives me some answers on this because I actually care about the details on the dirty businesses these folks are in. Last, Desna seems to know shady folks, but prior to her working for the clinic, I'm not sure she was ever into doing anything illegal. I want to know after she left the foster care system what did she do to take care of herself? And I'm betting she left before the age of eighteen which is when kids age out of that system. I'm thinking she didn't wait that long to get away from those animals. I think it sounded like she knew Jen from at least when she was in her twenties if not high school. Jen sneaking her into a New Edition concert makes me think they have been friends since high school. So, I totally get her coming to be attracted to Roller, but that not being the type of guy, a hustler, whose goal in life is to do illegal stuff for a living, I get that not being her goal. I get her in the flashback looking at Roller and telling the other ladies that he's not going to take me where I want to go and that it has nothing to do with him being a white guy. It has to do with making an honest living. It doesn't seem like she comes from trying to live a life of doing illegal things as awful as her childhood was. This money laundering in her late thirties/forties seems to be the first time she's done anything like this. I just would like some more background. Hell, I want to know about Jen and her addiction. When did that start? Did it start even before she met Bryce?
  2. I think Desna is going to offer up her new shop to those Russians as payment to get them all out this mess. That being said, how in the hell did Desna afford to get Glint Nails? I can't remember where the money came from and it wasn't the money they won from the nail contest because I could have sworn she signed the deal on the new shop before that contest. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm wondering where the money came from to buy the new shop, I can't remember. Because it's not like she can buy the shop from the sale of the old shop. She didn't sell it. The only that's "awesome" about Virginia is that she makes you want to slap the stupid right out of her consistently. That's about it. I think that's how I'm suppose to feel even though I can see deeper into why she acts like a jackass. If I'm not supposed to feel like slapping the shit out of her, then the writers need to stop making the other four women look like they want to knock her ass out every time she speaks.
  3. Yeah, because I first I got nothing as well. Then my view started to change a little when they were on the cliff and she gave him permission to dig for the dragonstone. But then when they got in that damn cave and the way she was looking at him, it was a look of like, he's something going on and it's good. Now if I can just get him to bend the knee, LOL. Funny thing is, that's part of the reason she's attracted to him, because he won't bend the knee and he has respectfully yet forcefully explained to her the reason why.
  4. Wouldn't it be possible that he is now a member of the Army of the Dead? Don't they kill people then raise them from the dead to join them?
  5. I have never gotten the impression that these two sisters hate one another, they just don't get/understand each other. I think they both, from the very beginning, saw the world from completely different view points. What they valued was different, so they never had a meeting of the minds. But they didn't and don't hate one another IMO. I think by the end of it all Littlefinger will try to pit the two sisters against one another and it will look like it has worked but the joke in the end will be on him. I think both sisters will be shown to admire each others' strengths. On another note, I really like Jon and Danny, yep, there's was some hot chemistry there in that cave. She was looking at him in a real admiring way. All I kept thinking was damn, why did she have to be his aunt. Couldn't she at least be a cousin several times removed? Damn. Of course incest is par for the course on GOT, so it's on between Danny and Jon I guess.
  6. It's a given for Polly that the cop would use Ann. You remember in their scene, which by the way, was amazing acting by both actresses, but Polly says to Ann, something to the effect of "You're still seeing her?..." So Polly and Desna both expected that Ann had dumped her. I believe the first time we see that cop, I thought she and her partner parked in front of Desna's shop and then walked down to the clinic, that's where I thought they were going. I thought as soon as I saw her that she was investigating the goings on in that clinic. Then I immediate thought that, yes, she must have already done a back ground check on Desna and her crew and had her sights on hooking up with Ann just to use her to take down that entire operation. Then we saw her in Uncle Daddy's club side eyeing her partner who we know is in Uncle Daddy's pocket. And based on the eighth episode we know she suspect her partner of being dirty because she tells Ann that.
  7. Oh I forgot, I love Dr. Ken, his face in the flashback when Roller was putting that roll of money in Desna's boob area was hilarious. I'm rooting for him and Polly. I can't remember if she has a PhD, but I could have sworn she said she was married to her linguistics professor, which means she was in college. I'm getting the impression that she's suppose to be pretty smart; but like you said, IQ has nothing to do with falling for the wrong person, it happens to the best and the brightest.
  8. What I find strange is that the girlfriend is acting like she doesn't know how close Ann is to Desna, that Desna isn't just some boss at the nail salon she works in.We haven't had any quiet, alone moments with her pondering how arresting Desna would affect her girlfriend. She's getting ready to arrest Desna like she doesn't know of the close connection between Desna and her girlfriend. So, I'm thinking was she just using Ann? I mean what did she think would happen when she arrested Desna? Did she think it would be something that Ann could easily get past? I mean, she must know something about Desna because Ann said that she knew about her past, all the shit she's done and she still accepts, loves and doesn't judge her. So how can Ann talk about the shit she's been through without bringing up Desna's role in picking her up off the ground and taking care of her? How could the girlfriend not know of this. There's just a strange disconnect, with her acting like Desna would be just another criminal that she could lock up and dust off her hands as if it would have no affect on her personal life with Quiet Ann.
  9. The entire time that Bran, Arya and Sansa were in that scene together, I was like, why aren't they asking Bran what's going to happen? They know he sees and has seen things, why aren't they using that?
  10. And Jamie did save his life, Jamie doesn't hate him, he does care about him unlike that horrid, hateful sister of his. Yeah, I saw it too, how Tyrion could be compromised where Jamie is concerned. I don't think this, but yes Sansa might because she's realized how silly she use to be with her princess fantasies and how much at a disadvantaged that mindset made her. She still hasn't realized her strengths and is looking in possibly a jealous way at the skills of her siblings that she doesn't have. But now she's getting more than a clue and I think by the end of it all both she and Arya will come to recognize and admire each other's strengths. I think by the end of it all those two will come together to get rid of Littlefinger. To me Sansa is more of the type to sit on the throne, while Arya is a soldier/warrior. I don't think Arya would want to sit on any throne, she'd want to go out and feel free to roam and fight to protect it. By the way, Arya needs to train some of her fellow northerners in the art of war, her foot work is amazing.
  11. This, the entire thing had me rolling my eyes at both of them, they are both in the wrong. Once again, women with their denial when it comes to men, looking the other way then bitching about the outcome, or just trying to will things to happen. He just told you that the slept with his ex, he's just out of a relationship why are you putting your ego/heart at risk by inviting him to a family function? Something you do when you are an established couple who has spent some decent time together. Lawrence is acting like a child, how about Tasha, I like spending time with you, of course I like the sex but I don't want a serious relationship, which means I don't want you introducing me to your family like we are a solidified couple. Highlight of the episode was Issa risking burning up in a fire just to pop one off, by stealing those batteries out of her smoke detector, damn, hilarious.
  12. Communication is everything. OK, Roller really loves Desna, as much as someone like him can love a woman. I loved the flashbacks, all of them. I died laughing when Jen said something about all penises being black in the dark when the lights go out, LOL. I feel like, she never felt claimed by him, it's just a good time, making some money, sex, some caring here and there, but never feeling claimed by him. She didn't see herself going anywhere good with him after a while and that was the main reason she had rejected him at first in the flashbacks. She sounded surprised that he was jealous over that Dr., her reaction was one of not expecting that he would even care. That tells me that she had no idea that he really, really loved her. You don't really claim a woman, you don't fully communicate that, then she's not going to think that she has much value to you personally. That's the way I see, it, and it ties into the whole lack of communication issue. Roller was having some serious PTSD, the actor did a good job. Poor Quiet Ann, but I'd have to give up that love to protect Desna after all the shit she did for me when I had no one. I couldn't forget that. Uncle Daddy's boss, Mr. Namaste, I died laughing at the way he was beating Bryce, then back to the calm namaste demeanor. Dean's convo. with Desna, melted my heart. Then I died laughing again, when he said that he knows Desna thinks Virginia is a stank ho, LOL. HP really should get an Emmy nom. for playing this role, he's great. Finally, I cracked up again when the cop told Roller to tell his Uncle hi, and that he and his family are into some crazy shit, WTF? It's not supposed to be funny, but damn I could not help but laugh. And I'm putting it out here right now, Uncle Daddy had something to do with killing Roller and Bryce's parents.
  13. You know I think there is a lot between Desna and Roller; it's a sick circle of a deeper connection or something, but it exist. His hand was shaking when he was pointing that gun at her. The shaking of his hand got me and then there was a pause after she questioned whether or not he meant all the loving stuff he said before. Who knows maybe he was going to come through with the money for Desna off of whatever he had going on with the Russians. He kept telling her don't worry, he'd take care of it. Obviously, he felt that Uncle Daddy wasn't paying him what he was worth so he stepped outside the family. That shaking of his hands got me, he's no stranger to using guns, his hand doesn't shake when holding a gun. I think he was hurt, that's why he asked her if she was sad/missed him even a little. And we're all clear that he did NOT have amnesia right? He was faking the entire time. I don't know how long he would have kept it up, but I feel that things got desperate after he met with the Russians at the party. After the meeting he decides he has to come out of his amnesia and use Uncle Daddy to get rid of them. Hey, something else he and his lady Desna have in common, using Uncle Daddy to get rid of a threat.
  14. Right, because I don't recall him officially spelling it out for her that he had a girlfriend until she showed up with her boobs out at his job, at Best Buy. I could have sworn that's when he told her that he had a girlfriend and she turned around and left. After he said out right that he was taken, she wasn't coming around, hanging all over him in an aggressive manner at all. I'll give her that.
  15. LOL, I just love when I see posts about unprotected sex with these shows that I watch, because we are on the same wave length. It never escapes my mind how NASTY the nasty is that these characters are engaging in, gross. He was up in Virginia, and lord knows how many of those women who crying at his funeral. Then the swamp lady was riding him, that of course was no fault of his, he was raped repeatedly, but still, where's the rubber Desna? Did she use one with Dr. guy even? I mean when Desna caught Roller raping/strangling Virginia she said something about get,get we have enough herpes around here, something like that. So it's not like STD's have never crossed her mind. I said the same thing when Virginia slept with Dean, forget a pregnancy, did she give him an STD? That's all I kept thinking.
  16. I really hope this works out for Nova, she deserves it IMO. But note to Aunt Vi, who I know loves her nieces and nephews dearly, but, just because a good black man is that way on paper, doesn't mean he's a match for your niece. So, trying to force and make it work, when it doesn't, would be that loving in "desperation" you spoke of. Oh lord Darla, do not marry Ralph Angel, DO NOT, at least not any time soon. I could see the positive side of Remy and Charlie's scene as her loosening up and showing her vulnerability, but I'm not inclined to do so. I just feel like the show is trying to get me to see all that is wrong with Charley and not enough of what's right. I think her son and Nova might have been the only ones to say they were proud of what she accomplished. Aunt Vi is sick, I'm pretty sure of it. Oh and Micah, my jaw was clenched the entire time anticipating that he had been sexually assaulted. Quite frankly, he was, in a figurative way, with all that shit that cop was saying about putting something else in his mouth. Oh, the trauma, the boy is suffering a real case of PTSD as are many black folks in black communities around this country. That's what that reaction was to Blue, it was a PTSD reaction. After he was done with is story all I could think was, and once again there is nothing this black family can do about it in the way of getting any justice, not a damn thing. Micah still has his little girlfriend, she's absolutely adorable. They posted the wrong description. I think that this episode summary that mentions her mom and also something about Vi's health I believe will be the first episode when the show returns in October.
  17. That's right, how could I forget, she's always spitting her rhymes in her private and public bathroom mirrors. Then she took the mike at that club with "Broken Pussy," Molly's nickname. That's also what she and the guy she cheated on Lawrence with had in common, that seemed like their connection.
  18. OK, if I think of the monarchy in England, the crown is passed on to the first born and his/her offspring and so on and so on. So my question is, is Danny the Mad King's first born? No, right? My next question would be, is Jon the son of the Mad King's first born? Because if he is then yes, he would have more claim to the throne than Danny if I model this all after the present day monarchy in England. What's the birthing order here? I mean was it right for any of Robert's brothers, I forgot their names, but was it right for them to think that they had a claim to the throne when Joffrey was supposedly Robert's son? We know he wasn't but, did Robert's brother know that? I can't remember. Wasn't it supposed to naturally pass down to Robert's first born son?
  19. I'd really like to know if what Issa is doing for a living is her goal in life. What exactly are her career goals? She went to college right? What did she major in? Did I miss this info.? Molly is a lawyer, Kelly seems like she's an accountant with all the tax/reparations talks she was doing. And what does the I don't want anyone to know what's going on inside of my house, but I need to be up in everyone else's business friend do? (I forgot her name.) I can't even tell if Issa really likes her job, I mean really likes it. It's a non-for profit organization right? Because as depressed and at a stand still that Lawrence was in terms of his career, he always had in mind what he wanted to do, that was clear to me. He just didn't, couldn't get off his ass and make it happen and in the meantime, suck it up and take a job on the side that he didn't want, while continuing to focus on his dream job.
  20. I saw the preview for the next show. I saw it at the end of the 10 PM showing.
  21. It was that guidance counselor. Before, they seemed to be the only two trying to assemble the kids. When they were in the classroom the teacher wasn't even their regular teacher, I believe she said she was an art teacher, she clearly was out of it and not even paying attention. Then when they were in the library the first time, it was just Issa and her co-worker, so to kids they're just substitutes, as in, it's time for a free period. They're not going to show up, especially if they are generally troubled and/or just hard to reach youth. The guidance counselors are usually the faculty in these schools who can get through to the kids, because they like the counselors. So the third time, when they went back to the library the guidance counselor greeted them, she was difference. The vice principal put the guidance counselor on the job after they went to him with their problem. I'm surprised though that their organization, or maybe it was just Issa and her co-worker didn't know to go through the guidance counselors when it comes to programs like these in schools.
  22. Chad is hilarious. I think I've only seen the actor in the Straight Out of Compton movie. Please Issa, move on from Lawrence, seriously try to. Like someone posted above, she was tired of him overall before she cheated so... And no Molly, Issa is a cheater, she cheated. Hopefully, she won't continue to be a cheater in future relationships, but she cheated in this one and it was wrong no matter how annoying Lawrence had become. Not only that, she cheated with someone who she had history with, who she at one time was with or wanted to be with, it's not even like he was some random dude. I'm glad Lawrence won't take her back, I only wish the same was the case in reverse with far less women willing to take their cheating men back. But that unfortunately, is usually not the case. That being said, I don't care about Tasha and Lawrence, I really don't, that won't get any investment from me. I hope Molly continues therapy, it's getting her somewhere. Of course she doesn't realize this so she'll probably skip her next appointment. Oh my lord, what is the name of the show that Regina Hall and Scott Foley are in? I died laughing at Tasha's commentary while watching it. I appreciated the show, showing "the build a wall" kind of bigotry from a black person and Issa willing to look past it because of her own need to succeed at any cost.
  23. No, I'm fine if those theories turn out to be true. I'd be rooting for Sansa as long as she doesn't cross Arya when she shows up. What Sansa needs to do is tap into the Cersei within and rule. I need a power-hungry Sansa, because that wouldn't be a bad thing at all IMO. Boy I love Cersei. Such a complicated relationship that I have with this character, I love her, yet still want her to lose in the end because she so deliciously evil, yet evil nonetheless. Oh I forgot, I'm going to miss Lady Olena, I can't believe she's gone. Damn that old gal had a hilarious mouth on her.
  24. It was rape because she was screaming for him to stop. When she was asphyxiating him the first time Desna caught them , which was at night, when Desna rolled up on his place and saw them on the couch, she had her hand around his throat like he always likes it and was riding him. But then the day he turned a consensual encounter into rape, he had his hand around Virginia's throat, was on top of her, which as far as I'm concerned is not something she was into for herself. He's the one who like to be asphyxiated but when he started to do it to her, she started to scream for him to stop and he didn't until Desna interrupted. That is rape, when someone is asking you to stop and you don't then you are raping them. That wasn't role play, if it was, then Virginia would not have run off the way she did, she would have stood there a lot calmer and not act like Desna had just saved her from role playing a rape. I'm still weighing whether what Virginia did with Dean is rape. I think my issue is that he does have a very high IQ, his disability is in his ability to socialize, he has certain ticks and takes things very literally. But he is of age, and he does know what sex is and he does know he wants it. He's not a grown man with the IQ of a third grader, that would be a clear case of rape for me. So, I'm trying to decide whether he's any more vulnerable than your average nerdy, prudish, introverted guy who found himself under the spell of a Virginia type woman. On another note, why is Desna's Dr. man still around? I don't get him still being around unless he's undercover or just not a nice guy. He sure is boring.
  25. Bwaaah, Dean's orgasm speech was the best scene this episode, I laughed and laughed. HP does a fabulous job in this role, fabulous. Then Roller's face when Dean said that Virginia claimed to never have, had an orgasm, LOL. You know, I don't hate Roller, I simply pointed out that he was in fact at one point raping Virginia, that swamp lady was in fact raping him repeatedly and that I couldn't summon up any empathy for him. I really don't hate nor dislike any character on this show. I came in on this show and quickly came to the conclusion that I wasn't really going to expect character growth, nor good well meaning characters for the most part. I was never expecting these folks to lead safer and healthier lives any time soon, if ever at all. So I don't have a desire to see any character gone, they're all pretty gross because they're living in gross circumstances. Although some, like Desna and Jenn aren't OK with the lifestyle and are constantly trying to reach for something better. Uncle Daddy quoting from the bible along with his wife at another Sodom and Gomorrah party was the second hilarious scene for me.
