  1. Interesting, Toodles, I really didn't know that!
  2. I feel soooo badly for Cara. It's very clear that she's just NOT comfortable being on camera and hates filming.
  3. Can just anybody walk in off the street into AUB services?? I mean, the Browns meet in their living room. I did find this blog post about a visit to the same church in Bluffdale, Utah, which I presume JO found too...http://52weeks52churches.blogspot.com/2014/05/my-surreal-visit-to-apostolic-united.html (It's literally the second link Google gives you if you search AUB churches!) Why would a devout Catholic go to church here? And why does he never call it mass?? Also, why would they have sung traditional Mormon hymns when he went to Vacation Bible School as a kid if he wasn't a Mormon??
  4. Aren't funeral potatoes a really specific regional thing in Utah? Like, primarily in the Mormon community? Based on the five pages of Sam's backstory that JO has managed to come up with, he was born in Nebraska, grew up in Texas, and (according to this blog) lived in Oklahoma and Chicago. He's not Mormon and didn't really know anything about the religion. So how many times would he have HAD funeral potatoes to be "craving" them? I wasn't aware Las Vegas was some kind of Mormon hotspot where he would have multiple team members that were all from Utah. JO is just throwing in every Meri/Mormon reference she can to sound convincing.
  5. In the comments Sam says, "There is no Lol or anything like that in my book. My editor was something else. She was not a funny person." Yet somehow, you convinced her to let you leave in misspellings and grammar mistakes?? And his publisher threw a fit and delayed the release dates because Sam wanted to set the price so low. Riiiiiight, Sam.
  6. I...don't even understand what is going on with this insanity any more. I HATE Twitter and need, like, a blog or message board or someone to break it down for me with flowcharts and graphs. I do suspect that some of the people that are arguing WITH JO and "Sam" and "Lindsey" are actually JO herself. Can we get Nev Schulman and Max to do a special celebrity episode of "Catfish"??
  7. If JO was out catfishing other people and doing other crazy stuff that had nothing to do with his/her relationship with Meri, I'd find somewhere else to talk about that. But most of what she posts is about Meri and their relationship and the other members of the Brown family. For all the fiction out there, Meri did have a relationship with JO that has become quite public.
  8. Has Ashley never seen this damn show? She had to have realized that she was going to have to talk about some of this stuff on camera, right? There were definitely ways she could have answered some of those questions in a cute or funny or snarky way (Kansas City Twister legit made me LOL) to at least, you know, put a modicum of effort into this stupid social experiment that she willingly signed up for! They did look like female betas, but seeing as how the pet store keeps them separate, I wouldn't take the chance on dumping two into the same bowl together! Next week's ep will start with a black screen announcing the death of their fish, along with David's dreams of love.
  9. Ugh, Christina is clearly in it just for the fame, if she's a) willing to go through this again and b) insists on meeting her groom AT THE ALTAR. She knows it will make better TV. She "can't see herself online dating"?? Why the hell not, woman? It's 2015, I think the stigma surrounding online dating is pretty much dead. I'm confused about the time for this show...how much time elapsed between the first groom ditching her and her parents starting the search again? Because her stepmother mentioned that she had moved to a new house, so that means at least a few months. I agree with whomever said up-thread that the "rules" of this show are entirely unclear. Like, none of the parents are doing the same thing the same way. I think TLC was trying to capitalize on the success of "Married at First Sight," but needed to put a spin on it and they just threw this shit together. I am also unclear as to why Mitch had to meet his future bride at some ice cream parlor. That was weird and awkward too. I'm not sure how John (who perhaps does not deserve his awesome parents) and Cameron (tall, knew how to fish) are going to work out. I bet she's going to be too "independent" for him.
  10. Actually, I believe "he" mentioned at some point that he has cancer or had cancer (leukemia), so he wouldn't be able to donate. Not that logic and fact would stop JO!
  11. I agree the thread has derailed a little, but most of what JO posts is about Meri, at least? I don't know how the mods would feel about a separate thread on her catfisher either, and I haven't found many places outside of previously.tv where people are discussing this insanity! (And wow, JO released a BOATLOAD of crazy yesterday!)
  12. Oh yessss, we're getting Sam's backstory on Page 3 of "Almost Meri'ed." Also, he's donating all the proceeds to polygamy escape groups. What a saint!
  13. Yeah, I would say her engagements are pretty tightly controlled, even when she's doing a walkabout, and I don't think she ever goes out in public just to, you know, hang. I mean, we see Kate shopping sometimes and occasionally out at the park with kids, but I don't think QEII has EVER been photographed just out amongst the people.
  14. Ooh, super excited about this one! QEII is a fascinating figure...she was so young when she became Queen, and she and her mother both felt that King Edward VIII's abdication and unexpectedly having to step into the role of King led to her father's death at a rather young age. Also looks like it will get into Princess Margaret's romance with Peter Townsend, which is an interesting story as well. I can't say as I've heard that she's rarely seen in public. The Queen undertook 341 engagements last year, including 35 abroad...not too shabby for an 89-year-old lady! Her 95-year-old husband had 250 engagements. William, Kate and Harry only did 218 engagements combined. But yes, the Queen's children take on more engagements than she does now. An interesting chart: (Jinx, Kierstyn!)
  15. Ah yes, reputable "publishers" and "editors" are always willing to let grammar errors and misspellings appear in their work. Jackie needs to take a fiction writing course and channel all her imagination into writing a novel. Hell, it could be a barely fictionalized version of a famous sister wife leaving polygamy! And you all will be glad to know the adoption of his cousin's twin boys is moving right along as well:
  16. Dammit, I can't see anything on his blog, I'm so bummed! Apparently, "Sam" spent his Christmas doing charity work, which for this multi-millionaire means giving away homes: Nope. If parents are active duty military, the majority of their medical costs and those of their dependents would be covered. Also, every branch of service have emergency relief services. Sam and his generous family gave over a $1 M this Christmas. The shit that JO makes up is INSANE.
  17. I'm getting the same thing, Snarklepuss, on more than one browser! Sam has unlocked his Twitter again, however! Behold, y'all... (Sorry it's soooo huge!)
  18. "Sam" is responding to comments (from herself, most likely) on the blog...she's probably planning Sam's spectacular Christmas day death.
  19. This is a good breakdown, but I do question the money piece a bit...is there a lot of money in agreeing to participate in MAFS?? Or is the fame that comes along with the show, that might lead to bigger money-making opportunities?
  20. Sam claims that he has more than 1,000 pre-orders for his book. I'm pretty sure 999 of those came from JO's sockpuppets. He also claims that he and Lindsey did an interview with a local NBC affiliate, but has ignored multiple requests to post the link.
  21. Definitely THIS. Last season it was made even worse because they came home from their honeymoons and it was the holidays! Navigating Christmas and New Years is hard for a lot of couples because of competing family obligations, even more so in their first year together and especially if they just freaking met! By the time all that was out of the way the "social experiment" was halfway over. I think 6 weeks is too short.
  22. Ohh, I do remember that now! I have a small dent in my forehead too about my eyebrow, so I shouldn't criticize. At first I thought it was something weird with her makeup, then a shadow. I will endeavor to ignore it :) I was pleased to see that she really seems to be giving David a chance, unlike some people (coughSAMcough).
  23. During the casting special, at least one participant said that they had met a woman on a dating site who turned out to be a producer for the show...was that Tres? Also, if Vanessa wasn't dating, how was she going to meet her future husband? She made it sound like she had just been sitting around her house, preparing for marriage, and expected that he had been doing the same. Maybe she meant during the process of applying and being selected for the show? I am Team Neil all the way. He's not classically handsome, but he's funny and quirky and trying very hard, dammit Sam. Cut the dude some slack and give him a chance! Every time Ashley is shown I'm completely distracted by what looks like a dent in the middle of her forehead. I don't know if it's Botox gone bad or an old injury or what.
  24. He's posted a bunch of screenshots of text messages now between Meri and someone (Kendra?) that prove...something? I guess? I honestly need a flow chart to figure this shit out.
  25. "He" also refuses to include an excerpt of the book on the blog. There's only one way I can see for JO to get out of this...she's going to have to kill off Samuel J. Cooper in a spectacular fashion. Probably while going to pick up his adopted twin boys. Of course, there will be no evidence of his death anywhere on the internet because, I don't know, trolls and privacy and whatnot.
