Can you be a good leader of a dance team if you don't excel at teaching others or are able to help improve the dances (through choreography)?

So we are saying the same thing. That was really the point (no pun intended) of revisiting this topic.

What did Kashara unify? She danced up front. She didn't break rules. She was nice and had positive energy. She also had the least successful group, her 2nd GL got demoted, and the most cuts came from her group. She didn't get the only award the comes from the team, VOTY. The other group leaders (to my recollection) were the ones assisting with choreo. I believe they tweaked several of the existing routines. Given these FACTS, I think that Kashara did a fine job this year, and last. She gave it her all with an apparently stellar attitude. But she didn't save the squad from ruin. It's official, I'm putting this topic to rest. Y"all praise her all you want. I'll have to wait for next year when she is quickly forgotten. I have the sincere belief we won't see her assisting with the squad or tryouts in any form next year, because teaching dance doesn't really appear to be in her skill set.

I think Lacey definitely gets ProBowl. For VOTY and ROTY is really anyone's guess. Those are the only ones chosen by the team, so it's basically a popularity contest. No one was choosing Savannah or Robin last year. What are these votes for Bridget based on, her insta?

First let me say, I consider myself very pro-woman. Meaning I don't think women who are considered more attractive by a specific beauty standard, have more value. In reality, that standard is rarely attainable and definitely is not sustainable. It disgusts me, that "prettier" ladies are automatically considered point-worthy. On that note, all this attention on who is nice, fake, humble, etc. is the real mean girl stuff. It is just another way to shoot down who you don't like. I would really love it just to be based on dance ability for point, and dance and teaching ability for group leaders. I don't even care about size. If you are fit enough to do the dance, you could be a size 10 for all I care (gasp!). I say this because the knock against Gina seems to be she's not pretty enough she's not humble OMG, who cares. Put the best dancer up front. If Gina is the best, then give her the spot she EARNED.

Thank you for leading me into HATER part 2 . . . the rise of Kashara. I've said this before, Kash didn't get better, everyone else got worse. (Rookies don't count because they are in the back.) I will acknowledge that she is the best of the upper vets (3+ yrs) THIS year. I think Kelli may be better at times. She looks so much better now because Jenna, Cersten, Holly, Erica, Robin, and Maggie aren't there to consistently outdance her. NO ONE was on here last year talking about "her pop" or "sass", because Jenna was right off to her side. That may be why Maddie is in the triangle, and not Gina. It really is unappealing to the eye, when the point is being outdanced by someone next to them (the comparison is much easier to make). I think they learned from last year. Kash's TV personality translates very well on air. She seems fun, poised, thoughtful, energetic, etc., etc. etc. This is not about her being nice, it's about her dance performance. The thought that Kash is the best point ever is laughable. Rolling on the floor, laughable. Part 3 will be Rachel.

I don't want to be a hater, . . . but overall this is probably the weakest squad I can remember. To be honest, I can really only assess the recent squads (last 3 yrs or so), because those are the only ones with adequate videos via instagram and facebook. Everyone is flat. Lacey has never been a firecracker and I've never, ever was really impressed with Tasha. Gina slays them all, at only about 75% effort. All these excuses for this group: it's cold, slow choreography, bad song. (This song is fire BTW). Someone please post last year's Group 1 doing this routine, so Jenna and company can show y'all how it's done. (I'm not skilled enough to find it.) Also, is it just me, or are there very few videos this year (as compared to last year). I can remember last year there were at least 4 or 5 (besides Thunder) posted every game. My cynical mind thinks this is very much on purpose. I recall last year that we got tons of group 1 vids and I think only one from group 4. We've since come to learn that group 4 was a mess. Therefore, I believe these vids are chosen very carefully. The internet never forgets.

This would make a wonderful dissertation thesis, "Changing perspectives on beauty as we age." As I age, I realize that the type of beauty DCC's strive for is a fairly generic type of beauty. About 80% of it comes from youth and a physically fit body. (It also helps that they are generally half-naked). Another 10 - 15 % is styling (hair and makeup). That only leaves 5 - 10% relying on face. This is why tons of facially average ladies can put on a push up bra, bikini bottoms, and a ton of makeup and get the DCC look. I know I will get a lot of flack for this post, but think about how ladies like Jenna (whom I love), Jessika, Amy, Kellie, Maddie, etc. can get the DCC look. As I age, and understand how this ish works, I become less and less impressed by it.

I still don't see it. She's definitely pretty, but she is not a stunner IMO. In fact, THIS squad is a prettiest girl in high school pretty, not head turning gorgeous.

Actually if you look at the episode before Canton, Kashara was in the back row. After the pffice meeting with Jenna, they even commented how they had to re-block the formation. It looks like they just took Kash from the back center and made her point. I thought because it was the easiest way to redo it quickly. Then some more stuff happened and she stayed there

Ashlee was looking rough in those early pics from finals, but looks good on the show and here. Her waist is tiny, especially because she's well endowed in the rear. I am not a fan of Rachel's and Amber's breast jobs.

It sure was a mess. Her group was subpar last year. More girls got cut from her group than any other. Since the GL's teach and clean the routines, that's squarely on her. It appears that it wasn't just being new to leadership last year, because the issue persists. It's funny that someone tried to blame Keyra for Heather getting booted from leadership. Keyra was in group 1. The legend of Kashara continues to be more (edited) flash than substance.

I believe it's Pro Bowl Cheerleader, not candidate. They've already been selected by their respective teams.

I'll never criticize anyone for thinking highly of their abilities, especially when they have the capacity to back it up. Apparently, I'm alone in this, but mealy mouthed, fake humility is so much worse than confidence.

This one million times! May I also add that the bitchy comments during practice by K and J are just icing on the cake.

So Keyra is the new Jenna. Where all kinds of unsubstantiated theories that paint her in the worst light are concocted hourly.

I feel totally vindicated. I've been saying for months that Keyra wasn't cut for weight. There is more to say about this, but I'll be gracious. Regarding the cut, those late/missed appearances happened over the holidays, approximately 5-6 mos.earlier. She saw all those heavy vets and bad vet solos and was shocked that she was cut. She thought that was water under the bridge. Was happy Judy spoke up for her.

Did the spoiler board get really out of hand? I didn't see anything outrageous, but they could have been deleted before I noticed them. Hopefully we will get an explanation of what went wrong, so we can do better

I have been telling y'all for years, they don't show full dances because we would really know who should be kept and who should be cut. Based on this Christina should be gone too. World Class my ass.
