While not a to glamazon, I would love her to move further forward. I am a great fan of her dancing. Her storyline is one of the most interesting to me of the upcoming season. My hope is that they feature the vets' journey more than in previous seasons.. There are vets we literally never get to know. Jessica, Chantal, Khalyn, etc.

I agree that Yuko has vastly improved and holds her own. While not a standout, she is miles ahead of Savannah.

That's a great idea. It won't happen because it takes away the ability to make it DCC propaganda. I can't imagine how hard it is to actually get anything done when you are having to do retakes, close ups, etc.

Prediction. You read it here first. Khalyn will be in show group I view her very similar to Kashara. The ladies who were the standouts from day one have retired giving her room to shine. For Kashara it was Amy T., Megan, Jax, and Holly. She didn't ascend until they were all gone. Now Robin's gone too. Likewise, Khalyn has outlasted Cersten, Maggie, and Mandy. I view them both as blender pluses. They don't push anyone out of the way to get to the front, they are pushed from behind forward. And yes Khalyn will definitely benefit from being gorgeous AND being the only WOC vet (who is a good dancer) Yuko go have a seat next to Savannah.

When USO tours started women weren't serving on combat arenas, phone service was spotty, and internet didn't exist. Decades later we have video chat and women in combat zones. Young women coming to entertain the troops is so 1950's. Ummm, no.

Yes. Savannah is awful. It pains me to say that, but you can't put lipstick on a pig.

It's always interesting at a new season. I'm of two minds. 1) Were they always fabulous and just not able to move up because more senior vets or 2) are they just moving up due to seniority. There are two things I have faith in about DCC. 1) Judy's triangle placement is the most reliable and honest indicator of dance ability. (Kashara at point was an aberration-lightning struck three times in quick succession for her to be up there.) 2) Those on field videos don't lie. That why I was so impressed with Maddie, Cersten, and Maggie. They stepped right to the front as second years. Also, unless you're in the front it's really hard to really see how you are doing. Therefore, it's impossible to know who's really bringing it as a rookie, because they are all in the back. Khalyn will finally move up this year, due to being a 2GL. ( I actually think she might make the triangle. That makes sense diversity wise.) BUT I suspect Yuko, Jessika, etc. will remain in the back.

I LOVE KaShara and Madeline! I don't feel like she was shoved down our throats...I just really think she stepped up for the squad and has been an awesome squad member. I'm not anti nor pro Kashara. However, last season EVERY episode had a very positive remark about Kashara. Most of these were just unnecessary, and no one was actually praising her dancing. Not one guest choreographer nor Kitty complimented her dancing. Things like Kasexy and you're the life of the party and Kashara's killing it (that one from Anthony Ramos) were dropped on the regular. THEY HAVE NEVER DONE THAT FOR ANY WOMAN ON THE SHOW. It's plainly obvious she got the best edit ever. If Cassie had received 1/4 a good as edit she would not of been dragged on so much. I feel like management has learned their lesson and Victoria and Dayton will get very positive edits. In season 11 Kashara was a blender whose only comment was that she shouldn't try things she can't do at show group tryouts (by Kitty). This is not to drag Kashara. My point os that the show is manipulative. They can make you seem weak, as well as, great with proper edits. IJS.

Normally, when someone is on show group, they make it back year after year. Regardless of how good the rookies perform. My hope for this year is that the best dancers make show group, without regard to tenure.

I'm cynical. She admitted to not preparing, and flubbed a very easy question at the interview. I think her not making it last year was a set up. Now they are able to say the inner circle's legacies don't automatically make it. They are very much aware of how Cassie was perceived. Y'all fell for it. Good work management. Also, with hours of footage and slow mo dance sequences, they can make ANYONE look good. With the edit Kashara got last year, you would have thought she waw the second coming of Nicole Hamilton. I believe Victoria and Dayton will make the team. However, I do think they both are pretty enough and possess enough dance skill to make the team. I rewatched Cassie's rookie season over Thanksgiving. She was not shown to be anything special. I'm sure these ladies will get better edits, to keep us quiet. The difference between them and Cassie is social media. We get to see unedited clips of the dances. (That's how we know Savannah can't stay on tempo. LOL) I'll reserve judgement until I see those social media posts. If you will recall how little we saw of group 4 last year and a lot of group 1. If they hide them, that will also be revealing.

We rarely ever know why a girl is cut. Just look at Raylee and Heather H. I'm way too cynical to believe how things are depicted on the show. For instance, we still don't really know the full details about Jenna/Holly/Erica, just speculation and conjecture. What the facts say TO ME is that there is an upper limit on the number of black women they would like on the squad. Other posters feel that this is racist. THEY ARE DEFINITELY ENTITLED TO THIS VIEW. Kellie and Judy are big girls. I'm sure they are used to mountains of criticism. In my humble opinion, DCC (and pro cheerleading, in general) is very much stuck in the 80s/90s with their non-fraternization rules, compensation, and beauty standards. That's why we are seeing so many lawsuits. They will either adapt or die (i.e. Spurs Dancers). Several theories have been espoused about Keyra's cut. Weight, bad attitude, or limiting the number of black women. ALL THESE CAN BE CORRECT AT THE SAME TIME. Personally, she looks the same to me, so I'm dismissing the weight theory. Frankly, this forum is mainly unsubstantiated speculation and conspiracy theories. I don't think that one unprovable theory is any worse than any other.

Malena has really surprised me in pics, because the first one I saw of her was unflattering. I also like what she wore to the first meeting, business-like, but still attractive. Really she was the only one dressed for a work event. The rest were going to a wedding or happy hour. BTW she is a cancer survivor, so expect that to get a lot of airtime. I hope she slays the dancing.

That dress was definitely the worse of the night. It was very "cocktail". Wasn't this a work meeting, not a party. Spaghetti straps are not for work. Gina, too. And probably a lot of others.

I was wrong. It's Lauren. I've never really thought Lauren was pretty (I know y'all love her), but that is a good shot.

If Tyra and ANTM taught me nothing, it's that being pretty and thin don't make you a model. This shoot has just reinforced that. Anyway, Christina is far from the worst. I'll be interested to see what the final calendar looks like. They couldn't have released the best pics. Also, who the hell actually purchases these calendars? The internet is swarmed with sexier and better technically and more visually interesting pics of scantily clad women. This calendar should have died in the early 2000's.

I think the reason why they didn't use it for Lauren is because it's Heather O or Maggie. (I could be wrong.)

The PICTURES do not support the idea that she was heavier than last year! I always that the weight gain thing was bullshit. They may have soured on her body type or something else. There are always vet cuts that are head scratches. Raylee and Heather H made little sense last year, and Keyra seems baseless this year. I'm willing to wait to see how they cover it. For the record, last year's discussion of Raylee seemed like it was recorded afterwards. And the kicked the wrong way thing for Heather H was really dumb, especially when the real kickline is what she was doing. Also, IMO Selina looked fine. I totally reject the idea that everyone has to look emaciated to look good in the uniform. What I really think happened was there was 5 black women that they liked better than Keyra.

There are ALWAYS 5 +/-1 black women on the team consistently for the last 20 years. That is statistically improbable. To me this signifies that at least some years, there are talented dancers that qualify, but they are #6 or 7 for black women, so bye bye. I am specifically thinking about Katelyn from S12. Can people stop saying balancing for race is like hair color. ANYONE can change hair color in a couple of hrs. That's apples vs. spaceships. WE ALL KNOW DCC IS NOT A STRICT MERITOCRACY. That is why we will never see long clips from everyone's auditions. However, when discussing black women, they have the wrong body type or aren't talented enough. Anyway, I didn't come to change minds, just state my opinion.

I'm going to speak for myself and state my own opinion. I wouldn't call it racism, but race is definitely a major factor in picking who makes TC. From a DCC standpoint tall, skinny, big boobed blondes, who can dance are preferred. Kellie said it on the show. There will be approximately 5 BG on the squad each year. Sometimes 4, rarely six. Look at past squad photos. I brought my receipts. So essentially the BG are competing with each other for those 5 spots. Last year they had 4 GREAT DANCING black vets. They took one BG into TC. 5 BG on the squad. This year 3 vets retire and one is cut. All of a sudden there are 4 new BG brought into TC. Also 5 out of 36 is 14%, which happens to be almost exactly the % of AA people nationwide. Coincidence? Maybe. Year after year after year? I doubt it.

Ok. Bummed about Keyra, but I'll live. Will be interested to see the edit of this finals. I'm predicting a lot of slo-mo edits, like they usually do when they don't have footage to back up decisions. Nevertheless, she's a DCC alum, and got to cheer with her bestie. Next. I never understand why a girl would stay more than 2 years anyway. It looks lile there are 5 black girls ( if I'm seeing things correctly), so at least the squad should maintain it's CAREFULLY allocated number of spots for colored girls (no less than 4, but no more than six). How did EVERYONE cut from TC last year make it back? Erin, Madeleine, Brennan.

If what I'm seeing is correct, this is going to be the least diverse squad they've ever had. They only have 3 black girls to make TC? Jasmin, Brianna, and Khalyn? All those pretty women of color trying out have suddenly disappeared. I need to regroup.

This. ALL DAY AND NIGHT. All year folks have been bitching about how standout lite this squad was. After really watching the videos posted all season, I concur. Let's cut the dead weight.

I don't think sleeping with a football player or taking nude photos make you a bad person. Likewise, not doing those things doesn't make you a good person. Similarly, I want every girl on this team to be an opportunist. This should be about opportunities. You're obviously not making any money. There needs to be some kind of reward. Whether it's job opportunities or local celebrity. I don't care if these girls are nice or are a diva. The real reason I don't care is because I will never be in a position to really know what is true or not. I'm not having lunch with them or meeting them for drinks. At the end of the day this is a dance team. If you can't keep up dance wise, have several seats.

Kash's solo was underwhelming. Maddie should have closed solos. I don't dislike her, but I would not like her at point this year. If she the best dancer on this team, than this really is a weak squad. She's adequate, but not phenomenal. I realize she will be point. This is just MY OPINION, based on what I think of HER DANCING. I literally could not give 2 shits about her accent, her personality, how fun she is, etc.
