  1. http://www.kwtx.com/content/news/Wacos-Fixer-Upper-nominated-for-first-ever-Emmy-434353113.html Fixer Upper was nominated for an Emmy in Structured Reality Series.
  2. It's a breathing issue. Looking through the pictures again on the Dillard Family blog that has less cropping, I very much recognize the cords of a portable apnea monitor in the picture where Derick is holding him. Samuel will probably be on it for four or five months at home.
  3. That's the legit account. I wonder if Joe and Kendra folded in the gifts that Joy and Austin didn't get? Tacky, tacky.
  4. Looks like Samuel is in the monitoring phase if he's still in the NICU. That's an awkward photo of Jill. They couldn't even catch her looking at the camera? She's moving her hair back and maybe in half-coo to Samuel. She looks like she's been through hell and back but surprisingly one of the most natural pictures we've seen of her.
  5. No Go Fish. The big games in our family were Chicken Foot and 42 with dominos. I never really got into 42, but I was pretty good at Chicken Foot. For my high school graduation, my grandma gave me my own set of dominos to take to college with me. Once Grandma passed away, my aunts and uncles broadened their horizons to allow Uno and Skip Bo at Christmas. The justification was that they weren't real face playing cards.
  6. I asked one of my friends who grew up in El Salvador about the hair thing. She couldn't remember any particular meaning, good or bad about long hair. She did say that some of the Native tribes have specific spiritual rules about growing hair out, so it's possible that if Derick was working with one of the groups they thought the growth was a poor attempt at bonding. Usually though she said they don't care about what an outsider's hair looks like. Someone might have complained to Derick or SOS that he was having trouble converting people because they rightly felt he was fake.
  7. We would likely know by now if Samuel was a true Zika baby. The hospital would have to report it to the CDC. Now the CDC only updates their tally every few weeks, but I would expect the Arkansas Health & Human Services to release a statement about a Zika baby born in their state. Maybe the Duggar's got them to hold off until the CDC numbers update as a HIPAA violation since any Zika news right now would undoubtedly link back to Samuel. If the Duggar's really are planning a press statement for Saturday that tells me he's working on a Friday release. My daughter had to have clean vitals for four days to be released on the fifth day before she could come home. Since today is Wednesday, I'm guessing Sammy's vitals are already clean and they are checking the boxes for release. Jill not being out of the hospital doesn't bother me. My OB said there were codes they could use to prolong my stay if I chose. We lived close enough to the hospital that I preferred to go home and visit my baby as needed.
  8. I know my dad's family who is very Baptist will not play with cards because it is outlawed. They will play games with dominos instead.
  9. I know several people in both Dallas and Austin that have telecommuting jobs where they work from home. They may have to go to the office in one of those cities every few months. They moved out towards the Waco area because it a) still had decent internet, b) had cheaper home/land prices, and c) still had plenty of city amenities that you don't get living in rural Texas.
  10. I'm not so sure we still aren't waiting for the physical issue of People OR a professional picture of Jill, Derick, and Samuel. The Dillard's would have more financial need to negotiate an exclusive contract for $$$ and to do it for the DONATE opportunities. If Jill could have had a homebirth, we may have not even gotten the announcement from Derick until the People spread. I think the families learned a lot from Spurgeon where TMZ basically announced the birth when ambulances were at the house. Derick controlled the annoucement, the family blogs linked back to it, and it's been quiet ever since. I bet though we'll get more details once People prints in a day or two and then TLC will release an online video of the family once Samuel is released from the NICU. Then we'll get the full story in a few weeks during a VSE.
  11. I don't think Duggar's crying is indicative that anything is truly wrong. Come on, Michelle lost a baby and had a micro-preemie. Jessa just had a baby. Anna is pregnant. Cathy had her own medical scares. Jana is usually heavily involved in the home portion of the births. The visual of seeing the baby in the NICU covered in wires is very startling especially if they have him on a respirator or EEG monitoring. I can easily see any one of them crying in the cafeteria/elevator over the enormity situation. I could easily see Jim Bob tearing up if Jill had been crying. Doesn't mean Jill is now barren.
  12. Was it ever in the Instagram announcement? 40 hours is still up on the Dillard Family blog and Duggar Family blog.
  13. All these fundies seem to pool their kids around the Duggar's once they are of age (Austin, Marjorie, Kendra). I can see a situation where Jed wanted to get to know Kendra but Kendra wanted to get to know Joe. Pastor Caldwell wouldn't necessarily care which son Kendra married since it would still be a Duggar. I could see Jed being pouty if he assumed his interest in Kendra would trump any feelings she had in the matter.
  14. I don't think anything is that wrong with either Jill or Samuel. Dan and Deena are on vacation in the Bahamas, Jinger and Jeremy are in San Antonio. Neither couple seems to be rushing to Arkansas which tells me that Jill and Samuel are not on death's door. Jill probably didn't get to even see Samuel until Sunday morning. She had the C-section Saturday afternoon -- I had to wait until I could stand, have the catheter removed, and could reasonably sit up in a wheelchair before they would take me to the NICU to see my daughter (full term baby). That was about 14 hours for me. I also wasn't allowed to hold her for 48 hours, so Jill likely doesn't have a picture with Samuel to release. As far as details, we may see a TH during a commercial break tonight from Michelle and Jim Bob telling us why Samuel's in the NICU, giving us an update on Jill, and end by asking for prayers. I'd be shocked if Derick or Jill composed themselves enough for any camera time.
  15. He may not be allowed to be picked up. I wasn't allowed to hold my daughter for roughly the first 48 hours in NICU. The cords were too delicate and monitoring too serious. Her dad was able to hold her into a quasi-sitting position to give her a bottle with the assistance of nurses. That was the only contact she could have. It killed me.
  16. To me, the fact that Derick is still in his OR scrubs tells me that the baby was taken to the NICU right after birth. Either something happened during birth that spooked the neonatologist or it was something they were expecting from prenatal care, even if it was spotty at best. I don't think it would be necessarily GD because they would test the baby's sugars first.
  17. I call foul on that. Maybe Magnolia Realty helped them with the home buying process outside of the show, but all the homeowners own the property by the time they do their "hunt" with Chip and Jo. The Downs bought their house in August 2014. Season 3 started filming in the summer of 2015. The Downs have also, surprised surprise, heavily used the Magnolia name in their VRBO listing. Something tells me they knew what they were getting into. https://www.vrbo.com/912033 This is also what they had to say earlier in the year when someone complained about the neighborhood on their HomeAway listing: "We appreciate your comments regarding our home and we listen to all of our guests concerns and we make changes when it’s under our control. One of the famous sayings of Chip and Joanna Gaines is that they are “Making Waco beautiful one home at a time” As well as “Do you have the courage to take on a fixer-upper.?” We saw potential in the home and bought into the concept of “planting a seed” in making the town a better place for all. We also see our neighborhood as “fixer-upper” and we are working with the city of Waco Council Members, the Waco Police, and our neighbors to revitalize our neighborhood. We ask that all visitors to our wonderfully designed home please keep an open mind about the neighborhood , knowing that it is a work in progress!!"
  18. I haven't seen any. But if Samuel is in the NICU, the only allowed visitors would be Derick, Jill, and his grandparents. Guests over 18 can visit only accompanied by the parents. Izzy will likely not get permission to visit unless it's going to be more then a week stay, but each NICU will have different rules for siblings.
  19. The picture released shows the baby is in NICU. They don't hook a baby up like that unless the baby is in NICU. The nursery would have a warmer, but there is more going on then routine monitoring.
  20. Uh, that is not always the case. My daughter spent nine days in NICU and we certainly paid $$$$$. Now if they have absolutely no coverage, Medicaid might step in if the Dillards qualify.
  21. I don't know any kid that eats chicken nuggets and fries with utensils. I'd be worried if he was shoveling pasta in his mouth without utensils.
  22. The Corsini's had a show called Flipping the South. I couldn't watch it because Anita was so bad on camera. It'll be interesting to see if she's had any classes between now and then.
  23. TLC is looking to get into the home renovation market with Nate Berkus and his husband's new show and bring back Trading Spaces. Adding a Duggar show to that realm would not be surprising at all, even if it was literally watching paint dry.
  24. The Gaines' do not work outside of the Waco area. They have been very serious about this in the past and have supposedly turned down bigger names then the Duggars that live in Austin and Dallas. Now I would not be entirely surprised if TLC/Jim Bob was planning some kind of renovation spinoff with the boys, even if it was only a few episodes. Usually those HGTV shoes are 90% scripted with additional designers, contractors, and staffers that the public never sees.
  25. The property also listed as his real residence. It's his legal mailing address. So it seems like maybe he was living at home, then bought the Fayetteville house as the house that he and Joy will live in. It makes sense if he's using that as his legal mailing address that he would list it on the marriage license. Madison County and Benton County's appraisal records are a step behind. I can't search by individual years to see if there was any other properties that Austin owned. I did find two Inc's that belong to Terry Forsyth that are registered in Texas. No proof of any businesses that belong to Austin. And it looks like the sale date was 4/11. That would give another month for renovation. I thought they had said they were building a new house though. I could tearing this one down completely and starting from scratch.
