  1. my grandmother did this one year with a Thanksgiving turkey. With all the giblets still inside 😷
  2. I'm wondering about the significance of some of the placements (especially for point) as the veterans of this year's squad retire, and how it might relate to the current triangle setup. I'd love to see Maddie stay on, but if or when she retires, I'd love to see Ashlee or Bridget at point. They both have sparkle when they dance, and I think they'd rock it.
  3. I just saw a season (9?) where the sob story was "My parents couldn't afford to send me to the college I wanted to go to." Oh boo hoo. *laughs in federal student loans* *sobs*
  4. For me, it always gave more support where I needed it, without making me feel like I couldn't breathe. There are far better bras out there now (hello Enlite!), but for the longest time it always felt like I had to choose between fitting my chest, or....my chest. I couldn't breathe in the sports bras that actually kept me from hitting myself in the face with my assets when I ran, so I improvised. I had a LOT of bras, and did a LOT of laundry πŸ˜‚ In other DCC bra-and-top-related discussion, I have no idea how the girls handle dancing in the semi-turtleneck tops they have going on this season. They really are beautiful but that style would absolutely make me crazy - I can't handle anything touching the sides of my neck. I can barely wear racerbacks, much less tops of those styles. I'd constantly feel like I was choking *shudders*
  5. Seriously. I used to work at VS, and I love their bras, but the Bombshell is something else altogether. Before I found a decent sports bra to run in, I used to have to layer my everyday go-to version (the Very Sexy line) with a regular sports bra when I would go running. I figured with the extra padding, the Bombshell might be even better for that. NOPE. I looked like a cartoon character. I could have conceivably balanced a dinner plate on my chest. No idea how the girls are able to dance in that shirt (no idea how they can FIT in their shirts) wearing that bra. Must be the Kelli knot.
  6. *slowly picks up pitchfork* Bring it on, Aaron Rodgers 😑
  7. so much this. Distaste for DCC being used as a "stepping stone" does not mean you somehow believe that DCC is the only achievement of any importance. Kelli has always seemed to be really proud of the kinds of professional accomplishments these women are capable of, and that has also been highlighted on the show (Cersten, Amy T., Melissa, etc). It makes the team look good and she knows it. However, using DCC as just a means to an end denotes a really self-centered point of view, and I think that's what Kelli takes issue with. It definitely implies a lack of dedication and sincerity, which are qualities she tries to look for. I think that's on point, so I'm not going to get too mad at her when she makes mistakes sometimes about some of the girls she's put her trust in, because I do think her heart is in the right place (even if the rest of her might be a bit off kilter sometimes).
  8. I think she's beautiful. She also seems very sweet, smart, down-to-earth, and loyal. I may not understand or agree with some of Kelli's decisions or thought processes this season, but there is no doubt in my mind that she is exceptionally (and deservedly) proud of her daughter, and I'd bet money I don't have that she wouldn't trade her for anyone else in the world.
  9. It's like that in Oklahoma, too - or at least it was out where my dad is. I moved down with him for a year when I was in undergrad and working my way through school - when I went to go interview at the high school for a secretarial position, there was an open Bible on the desk, and lots of questions about where I went to church, and how often I go, as someone who would purportedly be an example for the high schoolers. Was definitely a culture shock coming from northern Michigan. I hope so too. My heart went out to poor Daphne. She seems like such a sweetheart, and I know a lot of people were concerned about her over the summer - makes me feel like she may have been wearing her grief. Hope she's as well as she can be now.
  10. all of this. In your corner, ladies....keep it rocking ❀️
  11. cosign on this. I'd always felt as though Meghan was entitled and immature - I think she had a lot of other awesome qualities, but that kind of attitude was always going to keep her from being a DCC. I empathized with how hard she took her last cut though - I know it must have been so hard to see her friends all around her make it, and never be able to get there herself.
  12. this isn't related to anything in particular, but I finally got around to making some of the desserts from my Pinterest board, and tried Kentucky butter cake tonight, which I have officially decided to call Kashara cake from now on - it's super sweet and over the top in the best possible way, so I figure it fits πŸ˜„
  13. See I thought that tape-in extensions were actually much better for your hair, since the keratin bonds can really pull at the root and cause traction alopecia, whereas tape-in are easier to remove and lie more gently on the root - then again, I honestly don't know much at all about them on a practical basis. I'd wanted extensions, but I chickened out when I saw how many horror stories were out there about them. Could it be because of how it looks when it flips? I kind of feel like keratin bonds might possibly make hair look really stringy in DCC motion.
  14. I may be in the minority about this, but I think the smaller, mid-aughts shorts were much more flattering than the newer ones with a higher cut at the waist and more coverage down the leg. Too much fabric obscures the line of the body and cuts off the legs when you want to emphasize length, and it can make things look like they're spilling over when they're really not. They may have been a bit on the micro side back in the day, but they still covered everything and were more naturally flattering than the ones we're seeing now, IMO.
  15. I, too, rock the smaller side of "heighth," so if I was 20 years younger, 20 pounds lighter, and actually had dance talent enough to make it to training camp, I would have 100% tried to also rock these in my boots (at the very least, during cameos) πŸ˜‚
  16. They're being smart about it then.....cause I would 100% buy them πŸ˜„
  17. def having a hard time understanding some of Kelli's comments and decisions this year, but I have to say, I don't think she was criticizing Brennan at all in that clip - her actual phrasing was complimentary, not accusatory, although her diction made it a bit confusing. What she said was that there were some people who come in, and it's for the wrong reasons, but that she believed Brennan was there for the right reasons. I was particularly struck by it since it was coming on the heels of possible rumors being spread about her dedication, and I took it that Kelli was aware of the rumors and was looking to reassure Brennan that she didn't believe them. She's in your girl's corner, @ByTor πŸ˜„
  18. I have always really loved Amy Simone....she is a total knockout, and she has grit and heart and would have been such a dedicated and beautiful DCC. I’m still salty about her cut lol I also really loved Kyndall.....she’s just adorable, and she has a great sense of humor and quick wit. I loved her dedication and it broke my heart for her and Amy both when they were cut. They’ll both always be DCCs to me.
  19. what, you mean like these....? have to confess, I cannot understand a fashion statement that puts one in mind of goats. Or camels 😳
  20. So. Much. This. The life of an animal is a serious responsibility to take on. It is the height of cruelty to adopt an animal when they are in the young, cute, puppy or kitty part of their lives, then lose interest or be aggravated by the responsibilities that come with it, and then put them down or take them to a shelter where they'll be killed, or pine away for home after being abandoned. My impression from the clip with Kat was that it may have initially been perfectly fine for her to have brought her cat, but her host had a serious and sudden reaction (which is not at all uncommon....I've actually worked quite a bit in allergy and immunology, and allergic reactions are a hell of a thing). So glad she takes it seriously, and I'm loving the glimpses we get of the TCC's interests and personae.
  21. looks like Molly to me, but it's hard to tell.
  22. Kaitlin was actually cut during training camp - she was a really good performer and made show group her rookie year, but when she came back for her second year, she was having some problems and began a really serious downward spiral after she was cut for erratic behavior πŸ˜”
