  1. Frye will make your feet happy, even if they make your wallet weep. I made the mistake of wearing what I thought were very comfortable heels on my first day volunteering after my move to Chicago, and I have been a boots convert ever since. Still working on my high kicks though.
  2. I am so wishing I could find whatever that is, for no other reason beyond the fact that I am ridiculously nosy and I also love tea 😂
  3. okay now I can see that Miami hasn't somehow lost its collective mind - they definitely look much better on the field. I'm still not sold on the short ones, but they absolutely look a million times better in action. I'm thinking maybe it's just the pants combo that isn't doing it for me (even though their featured cheerleader looks wonderful aside from that).
  4. comfortable is pretty critical, and I'm all about that, but it is still one hideous looking shoe
  5. I believe Vonciel Baker has her beat by a year.....have no idea about the most senior vet to get cut though. Three-year girls are the ones with the most seniority I know of (most of what I do know is admittedly just through the show, so I'm quite sure there must have been others).
  6. that's a dynamic poster, and it looks great, but what the ever loving heavens is up with those (boots? dance shoes? spats?) things that poor girl has got on her feet 😳
  7. I think that was Carmen Butler....IIRC, she went on to cheer for the Mavs following her cut. It was sad to see her go, it looked like she was well-loved.
  8. I do not need to get hooked on The Bachelor, but Melissa may have been my gateway drug. Just loved her the whole damn time. And Midsomer Murders and Death in Paradise are amazing.....I keep hoping iTunes is going to come out with more episodes of the latest season for MM, but I haven't seen anything yet. Wish I could find the latest Forensic Files episodes on iTunes, but they're not available where I can watch them yet.
  9. she's one of those girls that is just effortlessly gorgeous.....and I will forever be working on my stretches, trying to to that tap-your-foot-on-the-back-of-your-head thing she has perfected....
  10. I am puzzled, but I can definitely appreciate quirky and adorable. In other news, burnt hotdogs are the best hotdogs, but I'm taking a hard pass on the gummy bears. There are limits.
  11. all of the girls look crazy gorgeous here, but I am especially loving Maddie's pic. It's just really beautiful.
  12. I like Brianna too, but let's not get carried away here.....
  13. definitely agree. I was so disappointed for her that it worked out the way it did.....the only thing stopping her from a place on the team her second year as a TCC was her attitude. Kelli told her flat out, "don't you dare let this slip through your fingers," and then she did. I wish she'd have had the maturity and humility to make it work. It could have been really life-changing for her. Also, while the poem was uncomfortable in the extreme, it was her entitled attitude I found to be the most cringeworthy. I lived for MRS' low-key shade in response to Vivian's humblebrag about feeling insecure....."you hide it well." 😂
  14. So much this. I thought they were both exceptional dancers, I just felt like they got caught up in things to a degree that endangered not only their status on the squad, but possibly themselves personally as well. I hope they're both okay now with where they are and what they're doing - and from what it sounds like, they are. I hope Holly's L.A. dancer show ends up going forward, because I am sure I would watch the shit out of it. I don't have any insider knowledge of any kind, but I always had the very strong feeling that both girls had a bit of "ugly ducking" thing going on - for Holly, possibly more in terms of her self esteem and physical self-conception, and for Jenna, possibly more in terms of "fitting in" and really finding her niche and a place where she could queen it a bit. Holly had talked a bit about being bullied, and may have taken some time to grow into her looks. Feeling like you're beautiful for the first time can be pretty intoxicating, and I've known a lot of people who go a little wild with it (rumor had it the player she got called out for talking to was Ezekiel Elliott, who was all kinds of trouble beyond just being a player). For Jenna I'd imagine she was pretty isolated growing up in a military family and living in a foreign country, and being in a place where you finally feel like you belong can make you desperately want to be in the center of everything. Also I had the impression that she fell pretty hard for Dak and got hurt, and heartbreak can really screw with you (I recall a very cringey Insta post around that time that had me wincing on her behalf). I was not a fan of her attitude talking to Shelly, but I respected her for making the effort to stay on and finish her year - DCC really was her world and I think she did the best she could to salvage the situation the best she was able.
  15. oh I definitely agree.....and honestly I looked into MFF here myself, but they went out of business before I ever tried it. It really is a good idea overall, and meal prep has been super helpful for me personally in keeping my weight down. I'm just poking fun at what I am presuming will be a new endorsement deal ad nauseam (although we can hope that no one will be showing up randomly at their houses claiming soda causes cellulite).
  16. also pictured here, My Fit Foods 2.0
  17. thanks for clearing that up - I was curious, since I didn't think it was a franchise, but I wasn't sure enough about my own dance knowledge to say for sure. I actually live a block away from the Joffrey Ballet (although I believe they have now moved). I used to take walk-in basic ballet classes there on the weekends, but I haven't been to a class in ages now. I think they also offered summer intensives, but I believe they were only for pre-professionals, and on an invitation-only basis.
  18. I taught classes at community college for years before switching fields, and many of my students were there for more than two years. Sometimes people need time to learn or re-learn the basics before they're able to move on (whether they are high school graduates or grandmothers, both of whom I have taught), and some want to get in as many credits as they possibly can before switching over to a different school, or different program. Many who change programs have to retake prerequisites. Higher education isn't a necessarily clear-cut path, and there is nothing wrong with young 20-somethings (or old 80-somethings, or anyone in between) taking time to figure out their lives whilst enjoying their experience and learning new things. I was a kid that wasn't "meant to go to college" either, but I did - and of all the things I wish I did differently, taking the time to learn where I belonged is not what I regret.
  19. It goes bottom to top, and will occasionally take a walk up when I'm walking around....not the kind of attention I'm going for 😂
  20. I remember thinking it seemed like an odd choice for a dress, but then, a lot of the dresses worn for interview are definitely not my style (Chicago winter ninja wouldn't fly in Dallas). It's a hard choice though sometimes when you're trying to walk a line between frumpy and inappropriate. I also remember thinking when they interviewed her at her place of work in the first year she tried out that the skirt she was wearing was crazy short for a professional environment. Of course, if I had her legs, perhaps I'd have different ideas about skirt lengths, but who knows. Right now I'm going through my closet trying to decide if a couple of the pencil skirts I've got are office appropriate or not.....they've got an obvious metal zipper, so I'm probably going to err on the side of "not." Just not the kind of risk you want to take professionally, whether it's cutouts or zippers 🤷‍♀️
  21. I don't usually click those ads either, but out of curiosity, I hunted up the site you found - seems pretty innocuous, but didn't see much that seemed that interesting either. The sign in the picture actually had its own Reddit thread a while back though: it mentioned its being a repost, so I'm not sure how old the sign actually was though, or if it's legit - interesting to think about though for sure 😳
  22. I do not understand how you could conceivably get any more padding into a Bombshell bra. Those bras are stacked. For that matter, I don't get how you could possibly comfortably dance in them, either.....it would be like playing high-stakes paddleball with your cleavage.
  23. that last pic where they're hugging each other seriously could not be more adorable 😊
  24. I hope Cheryl is okay.....she just always seemed so sweet, and always had a smile on her face.
