  1. "Got Talent" is the main title of the show. Since it's in the United States of America, it's called AMERICA'S GOT TALENT. It's not implying that the contestants are only from America. If the show is in China, then it would be called....you guessed it, China's Got Talent.
  2. I will be rooting for Light Balance Kids and V. Unbeatable to be in the final two. Others I wouldn't mind seeing winning are Voices of Service and the choir group from Africa.
  3. I agree. The judges judged Chris on his singing and song selections. However, the judges have been vague when it comes to Kodi Lee. They never judge his singing or song selection. Why not? Could it be they just don't want to be the ones to critique a disabled person? I guess they think America will understand that letting Lee win this whole thing is the right thing to do.
  4. There is some great posts here. Probably from former journalist or current! I'm going to keep things short and to the point since the Results Show starts in about an hour. Lukas and Falco - Thank goodness they ran out of material! You could tell they weren't prepared to be called back. In danger Dom Chambers - His performance was total crap! Where was the magic? That's what happens when you ask a magician to do something he doesn't know how. Or.....maybe his lackluster act was a plea to be eliminated. In danger Emanne Beasha - Why is it when someone sings opera people start clapping and cheering even though they don't know what their singing? I recognized the song of course, but her singing is more screeching than anything. In danger Ryan Niemiller - I was hoping he would get away from the disability jokes. And he did! Sort of. It takes a special and kind of comedian to peak my interest since comedy is not at the top of my list. He failed. In danger Detroit Youth Choir - They are good. Not their best performance. I was expecting for them to sing "Up with People", a 70's feel good generic song in the first half of their performance. They have lasted this long because of the rough lives these kids are living. In other words...sympathy votes! In danger Voices of Service - I have enjoyed every performance from them every time. I would place them higher but unfortunately there were better acts. In danger Luke Islam - Look, the kid Is good! I don't know if he has a sob story or not. I fast forward to the actual performance. I think he's better than Benicio. Going through Marcin Patrzalek - This kid can play the guitar and I was glad he chose a familiar song. He'll probably won't win the whole enchilada but he's safe. Going through Chris Klafford - He looks and sounds like he's been "there" already. I liked the song he sang yesterday. He suffers from not having a sob story. Going through Alex Dowis - His art making and incredible storytelling gave me chills! He has a unique talent that needs to be showcased. Going through V. Unbeatable - They certainly looked unbeatable yesterday! Even though many of their high flaying routines were repeated, there were some that I hadn't seen before. I don't normally like dance groups, but they are the exception. Going through Parting shots..... It's amazing that Chris Klafford had a good performance but Howie and Simon still found things to critique. While Kodi Lee hasn't been judged on "his singing". In fact all the judges ever say about Lee's performance is that he "brightens" the room, or he tells a story and he lets us into his world. Nothing about his singing. I think I prefer MelB over Julianne Hough.
  5. What the hell is wrong with Julianne Hough? She has some crappy critiques that don't make any sense. She's making me wish MelB was back! Kodi Lee went through, which was not a surprise. Too bad Lee isn't being put through based on his talents, but rather his disabilities is what the judges are looking at. They don't critique his performances. They always talk about what an inspiration and the love he brings to the world. Huh? If he wasn't disabled, he would've been eliminated along time ago. Same thing that can be said about Tyler Butler Figueroa. His cancer I believe is in remission, but they still find time to mention it. His playing is subpar compared to other violinists that have come on AGT. Benicio I think had a pretty good performance. However, I think he's getting votes because of his songs that are usually about social issues like bullying. I don't like his head shaking every time he sings with vibrato though. Ndlovu is one of the few choirs I've liked. I won't pay to see a choir perform, no matter how good they were. This choir is good and I enjoy them every time they perform. Light Balance Kids wowed us again! their performance tonight was spectacular and awesome! I was surprised they were in the Dunkin Save. Come on America, this group is worthy of their own act in Las Vegas! I wanted to say that I thought Eric Chien got a raw deal. I thought his magic was great as usual and tonight he didn't disappoint, at least in my opinion. Simon Cowell kept insisting that Eric should do bigger magic that would cover the whole stage. I'm sure close-up magic and a big production illusion are two entirely different things. I think Simon influenced the viewers. It's tough, because I thought Eric was a top 5 finalist.
  6. My only question I have and continue to have is how can the show allow Demi and Christiane to remain on the show if they were dating before and will probably end up together anyway? I would hate to think the show has to allow them to stay to please the LGBTQ community.
  7. I haven't posted much at all. I just haven't gotten into this season. But I do have a few questions about the Sentimentalists. Why didn't this trick/mind reading act work? Was there a "spotter" in the audience that maybe had communication problems? Like transmitter issues? Were the judges involved? If so, why did they decide not to go along with the act? You see where I'm going with this? Sure, it may be all a act to fool us, but why did the other times work and not this time? Anyone have an idea? Be serious please.
  8. As it stands right now for me, I like that kid dance group with lights. I think their parents did the same routine a few seasons back. I also like Eric Chien the magician. He might not have thr presentation of a Shin Lim, but his magic is on par with Lim's. There are other acts that I like but none of them come close to these two. Having said that, America probably won't want to see a magician win two years in a row. And I know the kid dance light show is not everyone's cup of tea. I'll be voting for them!
  9. The only act this past Tuesday night that really caught my eye was Eric Chien. I think he can actually give Shin Lim a run for his money. Great act and the best of the night! Why does everyone start clapping when there is an opera singer. Do they know what they're singing about? Maybe, but how do they know if she's in tune when chances are the audience has never heard the song before. One act that I'm glad didn't make it as the dog act. It's been a routine on the show that a dog act, no matter if they're not that good will get through just because they're....well dogs! Like many people have pointed out, a very boring show and the whole season. Hope the live shows are better.
  10. It's been awhile since I've posted anything concerning AGT. The show really hasn't been good this season. It's been so long that another poster has my "signing off phrase" I used to end each post with. Oh well! I would say the Golden Buzzers from last week and this week were deserved....for the first time! I'm glad the little girl didn't make it through. I thought she was more cute and funny than a good singer. I just hope AGT doesn't bring her back as a wild card. Gonzo probably didn't deserve to go through, but that is all part of the script I guess. Someone posted that they thought Terry Crews brings nothing to the show. I disagree. He stays in the background where I think a host belongs. Not everybody is a Nick Cannon! Well, I used to end my posts with "Until next time....", but I don' think there is room for two.
  11. Speaking of 24. I read an article the other day about several Easter Eggs referencing the show or characters of 24. There is enough Eater Eggs that one fan theory has Jack Bauer in a Russian prison (Bauer turned himself in to the Russians in mini series of 24) writing novels. One of the titles of his novels? Designated Survivor. Pretty fun stuff!
  12. I just finished season 3 on Netflix. It's still one of my favorite shows but I think DS didn't need an R-rated version to keep afloat. Season 3 had a different feel from the others, but still a very good one. Looking forward to season 4. Maybe this was discussed already, but did anyone notice the "24" Easter Egg in one of the episodes? I believe it was Penny who was wearing a safety bike/skateboard helmet. The manufacturer's name of the helmet? Bauer. If you're a 24 fan, you would know Kiefer Sutherland played CTU agent Jack Bauer.
  13. Am I too early with commenting on tonight's show? Hello! Hello! 🙄
  14. The rapper shouldn't have gotten the golden buzzer. He didn't nothing new or different. The only act I enjoyed was the creepy dude that had Gabriella on stage. The kids light show and the girl dance group were interesting also. I guess AGT knows that by giving the golden buzzer to an unworthy contestant, it creates a buzz. The kind of buzz that the network and the show loves. This stirs debates, conversations. It keeps AGT relevant. To the make up artist: Please stop painting racoon eyes on Julianne. She looks terrible!
  15. So, the final three were picked last night and I was thrilled that Jimmy Durante....er...I mean Wade Cota was finally eliminated! Yay! But I was disappointed that Laci also was sent home. It was a night that saw a top contestant take the safe route and my favorites have a rough night. Well, here we go: Wade - The Jimmy Durante wannabe just butchered every song he touched Sunday night. There really not much I can add other than the judges never should have put him past the auditions. He just wasn't good enough. Alejandro - He did better than last week, but not much. I did like his original song if it was sung by someone with a better voice. He's a very talented guitar and piano player and I give him props for that. I think he should've gone home. Laci - I liked Laci and I was pulling for her but I have to be honest. She didn't have a strong night at all. The Miranda Lambert song was good but I thought she would do better. The Elton John song wasn't good and she looked uncomfortable on stage. She had only one move and that was putting her hand on her hip and shaking it. Her last song was weak. Madison - This was a tough night for her I thought. She sounded a bit pitchy (remember that word?) and shouty on one song but sounded good in the others. I still think she is the front runner. Laine - I think he decided to take things easy since I'm sure he knows he is one of the favorites to win it all. I thought he sang safe songs. Songs that he knew could sing without trouble. Some tidbits: The judges have to do a better job when choosing which contestants make it through the top 20. A lot of good singers were eliminated in favor of weak singers ala Wade and Alejandro. They should have a criteria, a check list if you will on what to look for in order to advance. Among them should be forgetting the lyrics. Once it's done, bye, bye! I wish American Idol could go back to a stripped down performance for the top 20. In other words, have the contestants concentrate on the singing part like in the old days. When you get closer to the finals, then maybe you can interact with the audience. I think the hand grabbing sometimes distracts the contestants. I remember one contestant grabbed hands from the audience during Simon's time one the show and Simon told him he's not a star so why do it. I agree. Good news! It looks like ABC is looking to reduce the judges salaries. Katy Perry will make 25 million just to act silly and not judge. they are negotiating with all the judges. So there is hope all the judges will be replaced.
  16. American Idol continues to be ridiculous, but not for the reason some might think. Katy Perry's antics have become old and tiresome. Sure she is a very beautiful over hyped star, but her need to hog the attention away from the contestants darkens her beauty. A couple of times she didn't Luke Bryan talk because of her ramblings. I just don't know how TPTB think America loves this. The judging has gotten ridiculous also. No judging. Just commenting about wardrobe, closets and things. Ugh! Well, here I go, Wade - Only one word to describe him. AWFUL, again! Oops, that's two words. 🙂 Alejandro - He's just not that good. He would make a good coffee shop singer. You know, that ones you stick in the corner far away from everyone else. Laci - I like Laci. She's grown on me. I like her voice even though it isn't the strongest in this group. She didn't have her best night but I'm glad she was saved. Jeremiah - He has a good voice. However, I thought his singing wasn't up to par especially "Somewhere", which sounded whiney to me. Laine - I thought this was his best performance so far. His song choice, and vocals were great! I still wish he could move away from his Elvis wannabe wardrobe. Madison - A star in the making! Beautiful performances. Beautiful vocals. She looked beautiful! People are hating on Laci. Why? What did you expect her to do? Give up her seat to Jeremiah? The judges are the ones everyone should blame. Not just for saving Laci, but for not doing their jobs. America, or at least the fans that voted for Wade and Alejandro. Yes I know everyone has the right to choose who they vote for and why. Again, the judges never should've passed Wade along. He should've been cut when he forgot the words during Hollywood week. Alejandro simply doesn't have the chops for this competition and also never should've gone through to the top 20. As I said last week, how a contestant looks is important to many fans. Jeremiah doesn't have the pretty boy looks. He just looks like a pizza delivery guy. Or dude that's going to install an anti-virus software on your computer. I think the biggest mind boggling question is hoe the hell is Wade still on the show. The guy butchers every song. But, he's gaining confidence every week. You could see it on his face. Plus, it doesn't help that there are probably many fans voting for him just to throw a wrench in this whole thing. In other words, WE'RE SCREWED!!
  17. I think part of the reason the judges are told to give optimistic critiques is because todays millennials are soft skinned and would probably go home and turn to crime if told by the judges that they were awful in their performances. The current judges are just awful. There is no constructive critiques. The contestants don't know what to work on. They are told from the beginning that they are stars. Katy Perry's antics have gotten to old and I really hope she decides to go on tour or something to get her away from the show. Even though I am a big fan of the original judges, especially Simon Cowell, I also understand that the show has moved away from Simon's critiques. I would welcome the return of Keith Urban, JLo, and Harry Connick Jr. over these clowns. They at least would let the contestant know what they did wrong and if they were off key. Contestants like Wade and Alejandro would never have made it passed Hollywood week. The show needs new judges. Judges that are willing to judge and not become cheerleaders.
  18. Walker - Goofy but the song suited him. Madison - Great voice. A force to be reckon with for sure. Laci and Laine - Great performance! First time I like Laci. Jeremiah - He's done better. Very boring song. Looked lost without the piano or guitar. Alejandro - His performance just wasn't good. You don't change a Queen song that much. Alyssa and Wade - She sounded great but Wade didn't. Her voice over powered his. Madison and Jeremiah - They sounded great but once again the female was much better. Madison was much better. Laine - For the first time Laine looked uncomfortable. His voice was ok, not great. I think he's fallen some. Laci - I liked the duet better. She did look pretty though. Walker and Alejandro - First of all, I couldn't hear them. Their spin on this classic just didn't work. Wade - Can you say BUTCHER? He was basically talking throughout the song. Awful!!! Alyssa - She sounded great tonight although she tries too hard to move around and interact with the crowd. Her singing sometimes suffers because of it. The judges once again prove they are worthless. They just don't do anything to help the contestants. Wade was awful and forgot the lyrics but they brushed it off like it was nothing. Wade and Alejandro should've gone home!!
  19. Well, I guess we both saw different shows then. Direct competition in what way? Kara is mainly a songwriter and record producer. She hardly sings anymore. But, oh well. 🙂
  20. America got the eliminations right and the judges finally made a good move in not using the save option. America could've chosen Walker and Wade and that would've been ok also. Wade - Terrible...again! I actually thought this song suited him....kind of. I just see what the judges see or hear in his voice. It's terrible! Plain and simple. Walker - Simon Cowell, "You are very forgettable". That's probably what he would say and I would agree with him. Alejandro - He probably is a likeable guy but a good singer he is not! I much rather hear him play the guitar. Dimitrius - Calling Randy Jackson! " I don't know dawg. You were pitchy all over the place. It just didn't do it for me dawg"! Uche - He can entertain. He can move the audience. But at some point this competition was going to have to focus on the singing aspect of this show. Uche just didn't have a strong enough voice to stay afloat with the other good singers. Laci - She has a type of sound that a lot of young people will like and relate to. But she hasn't been spectacular or had "that moment". I don't know if she has that in her. Laine - Sooner or later Laine is going to have to shed his Elvis persona! When he does, what will he have? What will we see? He is a good singer, I remember him last year, but we might never see the real Laine until it's too late. Alyssa - She is a very good singer. I just don't like her attitude. A bit annoying and arrogant to me. But I'm focusing on her singing. If she continues to choose the right songs, she'll be in the thick of things. Jeremiah - A bit predictable but very affective. He has a great voice, probably the best male voice on the show. He will certainly be one of the favorites moving forward. Madison - She has it all compared to the others. Great voice. Great personality. Seems humble. stage presence. Very attractive. She chooses the right songs every time so far. She won't be doing Sir Duke anytime soon ala Ashley Hess. The judges have basically ruined this show. The judges don't judge, they just throw out positive darts at these contestants. No constructive criticism. Nothing that could help the going forward. Every contestant feels and thinks that they are a star in the making or have already arrived. It's the everyone gets a blue ribbon syndrome. I would gladly welcome back Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. They at least let them know when they were off key, or pitchy. I would certainly get rid of Katy Perry. Lol...I thought JLo was awful!
  21. You and I are at different ends of the spectrum on the judges. I think these judges are one of the worst judges on this show. The worst was the Mariah Carey and Niki Minaj fiasco. I never understood why people didn't like Kara DioGuardi. She knew music. She is a composer, songwriter, singer, and record producer. She didn't try to make things about her. She told it like it is. That's probably why people didn't like her I guess..lol! The judges of Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell were the best judges. You had a little bit of everything here. From pampering, making the contestant feel good from Paula, to Randy Jackson letting the contestant know when they were pitchy and just didn't bring it...Dawg, to the cruel, utterly true critiques of Simon Cowell. I miss all of that! But, I would settle for Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urbin. They at least would provide constructive criticism. The current judges are probably told to give nothing but praise but I think it doesn't benefit the contestant. They don't know what they're weaknesses are! They believe they have arrived at stardom.
  22. I guess I have to say it, but everyone is giving Uche the love. He is so over the top that I kept waiting for him to drop the mic and shout, " Sexual Chocolate"! Remember "Coming to America"? 😂
  23. So..this is the first time this AI season that I'm posting. I wanted to post earlier but things got in the way and didn't have time. I think my take on the Top Ten will be different than many posts here, so don't throw tomatoes at me...lol! 10. Wade Cota - Horrible! What...what in the world of American Idol is he doing here? Should never had made it this far. He forgot his words in the group round. Simon Cowell, where are you!!! 9. Walker Burroughs - Someone described his performance as very "high schoolish". They were correct! Not very AI type. He'll be gone soon. 8. Alejandro Aranda - I like his guitar playing better than his voice. I know his voice appeals to this generation, but compared to others that didn't make it, he should be sitting at home. 7. Laci Kaye Booth - I thought she sounded out of tune Sunday night and yesterday. What was America thinking? 6. Alyssa Raghu - I was a big fan of her last season. I thought she should've gone through. Well, she comes back with the same voice that had me rooting for her. But...with a bit of arrogance. That right there is when I stopped rooting for her. Plus, I thought Ashley Hess was a better singer. More polished than her. Good move on Alyssa's part, for picking a Katy Perry's song. 5. Dimitrius Graham - Ok, I thought he was great in the earlier rounds, but since then he's dropped off a bit. I place him 5th because he has that capability to be one of the top singers in this competition. 4. Uche - Here's another contestant that I liked early on more than recent. He is hit or miss. Like others have posted that he is entertaining with his dancing and all, but sooner or later this will turn into a "singing" competition and he might be dancing all the way home. 3. Laine Hardy - Laine seems to be the front runner but some how he seems to be coasting along. I thought I get blown away these last two nights by him, but I didn't. What is he waiting for. Show us what you really got! Or maybe we've all been fooled. Doesn't matter, he'll probably make the top 5. 2. Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon - This dude has a good voice but appearance is sort of important right? He looks like a pizza delivery boy! Seriously, even though his style of singing is not what I listen to I think he is a force in this competition. 1. Madison Vandenburg - She's the best of the Top Ten! Great voice. Great personality. Humble. Now, she is no Kelly Clarkson but she is Madison Vandenburg and that's ok with me. A few points... . I was turned off by Uche's moping after it was announced he didn't make the T10. I was especially turned off by Lionel Ritchie's dramatic rescue showing obvious favoritism. . It's very disappointing that the judges aren't judging at all. They're just giving everyone a blue participation ribbon. There were many contestants that were off key or pitchy as Randy Jackson used to say and the judges didn't mention it. I was not a fan of Jennifer Lopez as a judge but I would welcome her back to replace Katy Perry. In fact, I wish Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban were back. They at least would let them know what they did wrong and what they needed to do to correct those mistakes. . In my opinion Ashley Hess should've gone through instead of Alyssa Raghu. This is strictly comparing their singing voice, Ashley had the more mature and established sound. If only Ashley had stayed behind the piano!
  24. Because both can't sing worth a darn!!
  25. I agree. There always is and I think it's in bad taste. This does happen in all the reality shows. Which leads me to believe that these shows are scripted more than we think. Even the outcome are probably somehow known before hand. Just my opinion.
