  1. Thanks for the heads-up! We watched the first season when it was on, and really enjoyed it. I'm disappointed to learn that they replaced his DS. I liked her too.
  2. I don't mind any of the new characters. I like Inspector Sullivan, although I think it's ridiculous that he's being written the way he is, since his character has gone to Father Brown for help in the past. I'm just glad Inspector Mallory is gone, and Mrs. McCarthy for that matter. She had started out somewhat harsh, then softened somewhat, and then gotten pretty harsh again these last couple of seasons.
  3. I think the first season of Father Brown was in 2013. There may have been a lapse during the pandemic, but otherwise, they've pretty consistently put out one season/year. With regards to Brenda, she was introduced in a Season 9 episode, although I don't know if there were plans for her to become a regular at the time.
  4. I'm also happy that Inspector Sullivan is back. I was not a fan of Inspector Mallory. (Love Sergeant Goodfellow!)
  5. I feel like Wyatt (wasn't it Wyatt with the nude bathing?) couldn't wait to turn the camera on and capture that. Obviously there's tons we don't see, but I didn't need that to be almost my first view of Wyatt. And it seemed like Jodi (?) really was embarrassed, so I assume she really didn't think about the camera.
  6. Same! I'll add Midsomer Murders to the list of comfort TV!
  7. Having read a few of the books (although it's been awhile), I definitely think they were giving him some of the characteristics of book character. However, believe it or not, book Troy is way more unlikeable/disagreeable than TV show Troy. It seems like they eased up on those unlikeable qualities in later seasons.
  8. I came on here to see if others were as annoyed by the baby storyline as me. At this point, my hope is that Sally Bretton only wants to do one season, and this is how she's being written out, although of course then we would have a heartbroken Humphrey. I like the dynamic of the other characters in the police station. Even the secretary (?) has grown on me the last episode or two. And the village is gorgeous.
  9. Agree wholeheartedly. I really enjoy The Mandalorian, but since the very first episode of Andor, I've been completely invested. So much heart shown by so many characters.
  10. I agree...my husband and I are also loving it. I just finished the book and it seems like the show must be about halfway thru.
  11. They really shouldn't eat pizza on a regular basis. And some ingredients, such as onions and garlic are toxic to dogs.
  12. I agree with a lot of this...especially the last paragraph. I really do feel like overall, it had to be a very nit-picky decision, and I own the fact that if it was Giuseppe that had been eliminated, I'd be devastated (and probably angry). Honestly, I feel like Jurgen was given a pass last week, with the sausage rolls, and that Lizzie should have stayed, but I hope that since we can't taste the bakes that there are logical reasons for why a contestant is eliminated and why another gets Star Baker. I do wish they'd have given the summary at the end for why Jurgen was eliminated. That said, I've really gotten annoyed by how much fawning there is over Paul Hollywood (and his handshakes). I wouldn't say I've gotten to the "intense dislike" stage, but I'm definitely heading in that direction if he's allowed to continue unchecked, as so far he seems to be. It needs to be clear that Paul and Prue are on an equal footing, but unfortunately, I don't think they are.
  13. I agree with this so much. It was mentioned a few posts back about how Jurgen is clearly the most consistent (or something like that), and honestly, I see Guiseppe as being equally consistent. His showstopper had issues yesterday, but Jurgen has also had off weeks. I like Jurgen, but there are times it feels like he thinks he's being held to a higher standard. Guiseppe is just so modest...it's endearing.
  14. Years ago when we re-did our kitchen, Ikea had ovens like that. Not sure who the manufacturer was (we didn't get our appliances from Ikea), but I did like that oven door.
  15. The same for me! I remember years ago (when my husband and I and kids) actually used to camp. We'd spent several nights camping at Yellowstone, with many warnings, precautions, etc about wildlife. On our way home, we went through the Bighorn Mountains and camped one more night at a little roadside camping spot. It was along a small river/creek that was was actually very noisy w/ the rushing water. Neither my husband or I slept a wink because we both knew we wouldn't be able to hear the grizzly before it came crashing into our tent! Love this show, btw. I've been watching since Season 1, but missed Season 7 because Hulu decided to only allow streaming of Alone if you subscribed to Hulu Live. I was tempted, but passed. This season I have Philo.
  16. This is me as well. Last season, my husband used to laugh at me because we'd get to a commercial break and I'd exhale. Never noticed I was holding my breath through most of the episodes. And the episodes themselves would fly by; it never seemed as if an hour (or 70ish minutes) had passed. This year that is not the case for the most part. However, I'm still really enjoying the show and am looking forward to finding out how things get resolved in season 6. I expect that after passing up the chance to (probably) get out safely now, they'll end up getting caught or killed.
  17. I thought it was interesting that Rachael was taken aback by Jay's hug (not that I blame her), but then was pretty much all over Eddie...touching his chest, kissing the top of his head (or did I imagine that...I've already deleted the show). Double standard much? ETA.. as they were about the to have the Star Salvation winner come out, I knew it was Dom, just from the gleeful look on Giada's face. I was disappointed, but not surprised, it wasn't Rue.
