  1. OK - thanks! I might have to check that out. I remember liking him when he appeared on The Chase 😊
  2. YES!! I loved no-nonsense Jane! She kicked ass! Too bad she didn't take her help guy's answer for the time zone question - it would've been interesting to see if she could've made it to the million $ question. I recognized her help guy (sorry, I forgot his name) from The Chase (loved that show)! I can't remember how he did on it, but his face and personality were memorable enough for me to recognize him from it. (On a tangential note, I also remember James Holzhauer from when he appeared on The Chase and being very impressed by him 🙂 )
  3. I'm really enjoying this season too! I wasn't sure what to expect with Nick Jonas since I've never really paid much attention to the Jonas Brothers, but like someone posted earlier, he's an unexpected delight! The taking notes thing is cute, and I like how quickly he's taken to mixing it up with the other coaches and having fun. He also seems like he's genuinely being sweet, like when he gave a drawing to the sketch artist girl and when he hugged the NickJLover email girl. So far he's a great addition to the show! I also think I'm enjoying this season more than I have in a while because it feels like we're getting a more musically diverse group of singers and styles this time. (And I have to admit I'm not a country fan, so I'm glad we haven't been inundated with a bunch of country singers.....yet). I hope this trend continues, and maybe, just maybe, I'll make it to the end of the season which I haven't done for at least the last 3 seasons!
  4. I *loved* it when Lim told Morgan to "shut up" during the surgery! I know this show is not all about the surgeries, but that's something that's been bugging me more and more about this show lately - how these doctors keep yacking about their personal lives in the middle of procedures - if I were a patient under the knife I'd want to know that my doctors are concentrating on my procedure, not their love lives! I also liked the revelation that it was Morgan, not Park, who filed the complaint and how Lim called out Morgan on her preemptive strike - no one's pulling the wool over Lim's eyes! And I agreed with the people who posted last week that Park would be above filing a complaint like that, so I was surprised when he admitted to it earlier in the episode and glad when we found out it was really Morgan.
  5. Really enjoyed the French Pioneer Sword episode! Nice to see the chef knives complete all of the testing intact, especially after the cringe-worthy Pira episode that preceded it. And the two rooster swords both did beautifully in the final testing too. Cade was really impressive and only 18 years old! Cock-a-doodle-doo!
  6. And his little hand turns just slayed me, heehee! (Sidenote: He has really nice looking skin! I wish my hands looked that good, heh!) I don't know which made me laugh harder, "Tinga Nadies" or "Aneese Nameena!" I just love Buckwheat and Eddie Murphy looked like he had a blast bringing him and his other old characters back!
  7. I saw it twice in the theater (and I might have seen it a 3rd time if I didn't get strep throat! 🤒), and I loved it just as much the 2nd time! I try not to buy many DVDs these days (don't have the space for them!), but this is one I definitely want to get! I hope there are a lot of fun extras on it!
  8. I agree with everything you said. As soon as the movie was over, I wanted to see it again! Loved the music choices too, particularly the opening and closing song choices. And like you said, all of the characters were perfectly cast. Roman Griffin Davis who played Jojo was amazing - so much expression in his face and body language without pushing it. It's so hard to believe that was his first professional acting gig! I can understand how this movie won't be for everyone given the sensitive subject matter, but I thought Waititi did a great job of finding the right balance between comedy & tragedy and fantasy & reality. One of my favorites movies of the year!
  9. Yay! This is great news - I can't wait to see the new episodes! Anyone know when they'll start airing?
  10. I actually like some of Hester's kooky designs and I'm interested to see her final runway collection, but yeah, I wish she had at least acknowledged that Christian gave her a (strong) nudge in the right direction to create her red outfit.
  11. That was probably the most gracious exit I've seen on Project Runway. *sniffle* what a sweetheart! I hope his future is bright. I love how the final four were so supportive of each other and really seemed to have respect and affection for each other!
  12. Agree! I just really didn't care much about the new human characters in this one, and I love Vera Farmiga too, but even she couldn't make me really care about her character and her mission. I also found some of the human drama to be a little too drawn out and overly dramatic, especially when they resorted to slo-mo, ugh. Yes, this bugged me so much! Every monster fight scene was in a torrential downpour bathed in that dim blue lighting that made it hard for me to really see the monsters! And it also annoyed me that they had a lot of close up shots and quick cuts during the fight scenes just like a lot of movies do with human fight scenes when they want to disguise poor execution. I just wanted to clearly see the monsters in action. Heehee, this made me laugh - I had forgotten about his near-death scene in the first movie! Speaking of death (or fake out death) scenes, I thought the scene with Rodan when he was fighting Mothra was just cringe-worthy. I'm talking about when Mothra impales Rodan and Rodan freezes for a second before falling back like a human actor doing a big death scene in acting class 101. I think the filmmakers must have been going for laughs with that, but it was just too cheesy for me! I did get a chuckle out of the headlines shown during the end credits :). As someone who really liked the 2014 Godzilla movie, I had high hopes and expectations for this one and I was just kind of disappointed because I thought this movie, as a whole, could've been so much better. That said, I did think there were a couple of memorable fight scenes and the monsters, when I could see them in full, really looked great. I especially thought the fight scene near the end when Godzilla was radiating heat and fire was really spectacular. And I will continue to look forward to new Godzilla movies - I really hope they come up with a more compelling story and characters in "Godzilla vs. Kong."
  13. Mega-dittos! Mega-mega dittos! 🙂 As a long time PR viewer, Christian has always been one of my all-time favorites and most memorable contestants. I love the way he has created a successful career for himself and seeing him doing such a great job as mentor on PR makes me happy! I would love to visit his boutique in NY someday... I'm really enjoying PR's return to Bravo!
  14. I liked the 2014 Godzilla movie a lot, so I'm really looking forward to this one and I can't wait to see the other Titans! I went to WonderCon in Anaheim, CA over the weekend and they had a Warner Bros. preview panel - one of the movies they featured was "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" with director/writer Michael Dougherty and producer Zach Shields. They showed an extended trailer for the movie and the scenes featuring Godzilla and King Ghidorah looked spectacular! During the audience Q&A portion of the panel someone asked Dougherty if Godzilla is a "good" guy or a "bad" guy. I liked Dougherty's answer - he said that people really shouldn't think of Godzilla in those terms. He said that "Godzilla is a force of Nature" and that the real question is, "are we [humans] good or bad?" and that the answer to that question determines how Godzilla reacts to us. Earlier in the day there was another Godzilla panel for "Godzilla: Aftershock" that's supposed to be a graphic novel tie-in prequel to "Godzilla: King of the Monsters." The graphics in it looked beautiful. I've never really been a comic/graphic novel reader, but I may have to pick up a copy of this one when it comes out next month!
  15. Nice red carpet photo! Those kids have some red carpet style - I like it! This picture from that same article is adorable too: I went to WonderCon in Anaheim, CA over the weekend and they had a "Shazam" preview panel. Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Asher Angel, and Jack Dylan Grazer were all in attendance. It was a really fun energetic panel that had the audience laughing several times. I with I could bottle Zachary Levi's enthusiasm and sense of fun - I hope he never grows up! Attending the panel made me want to run out and see the movie again. I do plan to see it again when it opens this weekend!
  16. I agree with all of the above comments. I wasn't sure if I wanted to see the movie based on the trailer, but I decided to take a chance on the 3/23 preview since I had a discount code, and I enjoyed it - it was a fun movie! I liked the dynamics of the foster family, and I really liked Jack Dylan Grazer's performance - the kid has good comedic sense! Zachary Levi looked like he was having a blast too!
  17. And I appreciated that they used real musicians in the orchestra instead of shoehorning in actors in key positions doing a bad job of miming playing the instruments! Wouldn't that be a great job? Touring the universe in a traveling orchestra!
  18. Yes! When David first discovered the texts between his brother and Margot, I was like, "oh no no no no no... please don't go there!" but then I remembered the jar of weed in his kitchen and thought, "ah, that must be their connection! whew!" lol! Good catch! I didn't notice the car following Margot's car the when we first saw the surveillance tape! I had some problems with the reveal of how Vick had been covering up for her son accidentally (?) pushing Margot over the cliff. It was kind of hard for me to believe that a dedicated and decorated detective like her could just a leave a girl to die at the bottom of a ravine to cover up for her son. I mean, I know she thought there was no way that Margot could have survived that fall, but she didn't know for sure! That was troubling. But like I said in my earlier post, maybe I just don't understand the lengths that a mother would go to to protect her son. I agree - I thought that was really well done and realistic. It was fun reading the content - I'm sure I missed a lot of things. There were a lot of humorous little moments. One of my favorites was when David went on YouCast not knowing what he was supposed to do, and how he clicked on the start casting button and someone immediately joined his cast then promptly un-joined it after a few seconds of David just staring in puzzlement at the screen, lol! Wait a sec... was that Fish n Chips who quickly joined then left his cast (thinking that it was Margot) or was it just some other random user?
  19. After his 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a desperate father breaks into her laptop to look for clues to find her. Starring: John Cho, Debra Messing Anyone see this one yet? I saw it a couple of days ago, going in with modest expectations, and I thought it was really pretty good. I wasn't sure if I'd enjoy seeing another "Unfriended" style movie that takes place mostly on a computer screen, but I think it was used very effectively in this movie. The acting was pretty good all around too. Yeah, I found certain aspects of the big reveal a bit implausible and troubling, but then again, not being a parent myself I can't really speak to the lengths a parent would go to for their child. I won't spoil anything about it for now until some other comments are posted :'). I did like the way the movie keeps you guessing and wondering about the motivations and involvement of different characters as various tidbits of information are revealed. And I liked the way John Cho's character was presented as a concerned, but flawed parent with realistic and not "over-the-top movie genius" computer skills. There were also a couple of humorous digs thrown in at social media which gave me a chuckle while at the same time reminding me of the things I hate about social media! Anyway, I'm interested to read other people's comments!
  20. Yeah, his plan was pretty ambitious, like most weeks. Usually he managed to find a way to make it work, but not on that last weekend when he needed it to the most. I liked him a lot, and I also like John. Brendan was more reserved, probably due to his upbringing, but he'd have been a deserving winner had his final weekend's bakes been the best. Agreed! I was rooting for James going into the finale because I liked his combination of science and creativity and his ability to laugh at his own mistakes. But I was very happy that John won since he was also very talented and it obviously meant so much to him and enabled him to fulfill his dream of going to Le Cordon Bleu. I was a little sad at first to read that he had decided to leave his baking career and return to law, but he seems to have real heartfelt reasons for doing it so I admire that. I hope he is able to find a balance between his new career as a barrister and his continued love of food and baking!
  21. Far be it from me to judge anyone else's hair (speaking as someone who has purple and blue hair :) myself), but for the life of me I could not figure out what was going on with that horizontal "seam" running across the back of Matt's hair! What was that?? I wasn't that crazy about any of the makeups in the finale, but I was rooting for Jordan since I liked the way he improved towards the end of the season and he seems like such a nice guy! Too bad the series had to end on such a "meh" note. Maybe they could take a break for a while then bring the show back again - I'd still watch. Hopefully the models have gone on to bigger and better things!
  22. I am always impressed by how deceptively easy he makes it look! He was sooooo close on the 18ft Warped Wall - I was really hoping he would make it!
  23. She is the cutest! I've never been much of a kid person, but even I have to admit that the clips of the little kids enjoying the home bakes have been adorable this season! I think it was a clip of the stay at home mom (sorry - I'm terrible with names too!) in this episode that showed her little boy saying that his mum's cakes were amazing! Awww! So nice that she has such a great little fan at home! :) I just love watching this show! It makes me feel genuinely good about people like few other shows do.
  24. Just watched the finale. I liked the final two, Argenis and Alexx, and I was happy with Argenis being the winner. Especially after looking back over all of the makeup looks he created. I think he had some of the most striking and nicely done applications throughout the competition. I really loved his comic book makeup and the one final look he did with the splashes of bright color around the eyes and the blue lips. I still wish they had been given more time for all of the finale challenges. At least they got 90 minutes for the very last challenge! It was also nice to see Michael Costello as a special guest judge. I'm really happy for all of the success Costello has had since his rather rough initial season on Project Runway (success is the best revenge!). And it was nice to see Alexx win that challenge.
  25. Pretty deserted on this board.... I like seeing interesting and beautiful makeup applications so I was looking forward to this show, but I have to say I've been mostly underwhelmed. :'/ I agree - her look didn't say "dewy" to me at all - I thought the eyes were too bold and dark and all that gloss was just yuck! When I hear "dewy" I think of something much lighter, natural, and fresh looking. Those examples they showed to introduce the illusion challenge were so incredible! Too bad none of the contestants' results came close. The broken glass look was the only one I really liked. I don't know if it was my TV or the angle or the background behind the model, but I couldn't really see what the judges were raving about with the Genie look. I just couldn't really see the illusion effect that well - it just looked like a blue face and a neck painted black to me, lol! But as you mentioned, 1 hour just wasn't nearly enough time to create a great illusion. In fact, time has been my biggest gripe throughout the whole series of episodes. I just don't think 1 hour is enough time to create a really impressive makeup look for any of the challenges, especially if the contestants don't know what look they'll be creating ahead of time ( I don't know if they're told anything about the challenge parameters ahead of time or not.). I wish they would give them 2 hours per challenge. Instead, with 1 hour I feel like we get a lot of unfinished, underwhelming, sometimes hastily applied looking applications. I sometimes wonder how the judges can keep from looking disappointed when they're presented with the looks! I like a lot of the Instagram and other photos they show when they introduce the contestants, so I know many of them are talented and could create really nice makeups with more time! Ugh, I couldn't take her meltdown! She had to have known she would be the one eliminated in that round! I'm fine with the 4 contestants who are left and I'm not really rooting for anyone in particular. I hope they're given more time to create really great looks in the finale.
