  1. Where are the drugs when you need them? Other than Robert and Steve, don't any of these people take some freakin' pain killers before they get in the car? Wait - who's the guy? Is that the daughter's fiance????? Holy Moly...
  2. Please tell me this woman puts on a better shirt and a bra before she goes in to see Dr. Now. eta - She's taking 1/2 her family with her. She's not really leaving anybody. Again, why are these people worried about leaving their family when they do nothing, not. a. darned. thing to contribute to a family life? They don't have a family. They have servants. And, here's the fast food, right on cue..
  3. People have talked about it here, but I think this is the first time one of the people (what do we call the person the show is about - cast member? obesee?) has come out and said they actually did it.
  4. She eating all the food and they're losing their jobs waiting on her. You'd be skinny, too.
  5. Please, Lord, yes! For some reason, I find this hysterical.
  6. What's that white stuff on the food? Is that gravy - as in biscuits and gravy? OMGoodness. Gross. OK, maybe its grits? Still not a fan. What did the daughter sprinkle on them? Jeez, such unappealing food and yet they can't seem to do without it. Don't any of these people eat nice hazelnut cookies from Croatia?
  7. Don't women realize they don't have to get pregnant by every man they know? Damn. Whoa - straight up talk about feeders!
  8. Mom was watching during the abuse. Jeez... And we wonder why some of these people are the way they are.
  9. How's everyone's eating habit? I did OK for dinner, but messed it up with some hazelnut 'Napolitanke' for dessert.
  10. That's what it is! I couldn't put my finger on it, but it's the defying nature of much of her interaction with her parents. Like a 15 yr old. At this age, Twit should be starting to see that her parents may be right about some things. I don't find them to be terrible people and they have tried to do their best by her, tho they may have overdone it a bit and are too coddling when they need a firmer hand - or to step back and let her flounder on her own. I'm going to be a contrarian here and say I agree with Glenn about getting married and having children in that order. I was a young widow. I know what it is to be a single mom - but my son and I started from the right place - two parents, together. We diminish men in our attempts to support women. We make fun of men in commercials and the movies, and then wonder why they play video games until they're 35 and avoid commitment. Especially in the black community, having a father in the home is becoming a rarity. Single parenthood is a primary cause of female poverty. Can single mothers can raise wonderful children, of course, but it shouldn't be the first choice and isn't the best for the child or for society. All that said, I'd have more respect for Twit if she adopted an older child and not a baby. Finally - folks, put the phones down! Look at the balloons and the life around you through your own eyes, not the camera lens.
  11. As the leader, Twit should have been able to dance with each person in the circle. I see that they ended up dancing with each other. She can't even do a little freestyle dance with her fans. I'm sure each of them would have loved to go home and say they had a one on one dance with Twit. I'm being serious. But that would take physical effort on Twit's part, so we know that's not going to happen.
  12. But of course she didn't because that would mean going thru a process, having a regular home life, thinking of someone other than yourself... so many reasons why she doesn't ever finish anything.
  13. They sound like the kids at my Girl Scout camp at the end of the summer, "We'll always be friends, forever and ever!" Please people, grow up. Let Buddy do his thing and let Heather get her life in gear and pay some attention to her children. Maybe it's from being an Air Force brat or living in DC with everyone being a transient, but I just don't get this need to hang on. People come, people go. Nothing's forever. Deal with it. (and yes, I'll be playing the Grinch at the Christmas pageant this year)
  14. I agree, but she isn't his patient. If she asked, "Is this something I can do, too?" then sure. But she isn't there for the surgery, she isn't there for his advice, and she doesn't have to stop her poor eating habits just 'cause Benji needs to eat differently. It absolutely makes no sense, looking at her and it being so obvious that she could benefit from a little dietary intervention, but there you are. I'm sure Dr Now has probably done that a few times, only to have family members jump in his face about they aren't the ones there for surgery.
  15. I disagree with your mom's doctor. My endos & doctors have been begging me, as a diabetic, to do something close to keto for years. I had issues being a vegetarian and most people think of keto as meat based. It isn't the easiest thing, but it is certainly doable long term as a vegetarian, less so as a vegan. You do end up eating a bit more carbs, but there's a big difference between the 40-60 net carbs I eat now and the 300-400 I was eating before. Many doctors see the benefits of a keto, or certainly low carb, diet for diabetics - and one that they can sustain for a life time, because they have to to keep blood sugars down. Dr. Bernstein, a Type 1 diabetic now in his late 70's or early 80's, has been treating patients with very low carb diets for decades. He has lived longer than most Type 1s because of his sustained low blood sugars that have not damaged his body with diabetic complications (tho he had some before he went low carb). Also, people with hard to treat epilepsy have been living on keto diets for years to reduce seizures. I audit human subjects research and know that there are 1. ongoing studies with keto or keto-like diets and 2. peer-reviewed literature showing the benefits of these low carb programs for many conditions. I knew for years that low carb was the way to control my diabetes, but didn't know how to do it w/o meat (or eggs, when I was vegan). Now there are a number of veg*n keto sites showing how to do it and it's fantastic. I'm down to a fraction of my insulin and hope to be off of my meds in maybe another month or so. Many people follow this way of life - it's a choice everyday. Pretty much the same as Dr Now's patients - they are going to have to make choices everyday post surgery. Their long term success is up to them.
  16. So he's got teeth problems and let's it go until it's unbearable. No. But then he says he's never been to the dentist. Dang. OMGoodness - that big hole in his tooth! Jeez Louise. When I was a kid, a friend's father was a dentist who taught at one of the local dental schools. He loved showing the kids his medical slides. All kinds of stuff can go on in your mouth w/o proper dental care. I don't see this stuff as gross now, I just think how much discomfort and expense it's going to be to fix all of that.
  17. I never understand this - "I've got some hard times, some tragedy in my life (and yeah, for once I'll agree with the person and say a devastating flood is hard stuff to deal with), so I can't stick to the diet." What? Eat some chicken and a salad. You can get that anywhere. They have to eat everyday, multiple times a day. Just keep eating what you've been eating since surgery. Why do you have to go back to how you ate before? I don't get it.
  18. I thought they were. But I looked elsewhere and it seems they are just brothers. So yeah, I would go on and get my surgery and say the brother has to deal with his issues himself (oldest of 5 girls here - I have a lot of experience in letting people fend for themselves and keeping myself out of their drama).
  19. I think it's a twin thing. There's lotsa research on twin behavior.
  20. Dang - still transcribing. I turned around and somebody is moving. Who's moving and why? They already live in Houston... Problems getting food quickly? Bring your own freakin' food like the rest of us.
  21. Another one who thinks he knows more than Dr Now - smaller portions, cheat days - what part of YOU ARE GOING TO DIE if you don't change your eating don't you get? Not gonna lie - that pineapple upside down cake looked good.
  22. This guy is afraid of a 45 minute trip??? He already can't feel his leg? Good grief. Maybe I'm just an old fashioned girl, but I hope I never get to the point where I can't put on some decent clothes to go to the doctor. I'm looking at their mom.
  23. Yup. Just coming back (trying to transcribe some research data) to see here's another woman with a massive guy, not married, yet giving up her life to wait on him - while working outside the home as well. Why, women, why?
  24. Reading the replies about everyone's eating habit, I feel pretty good - a bag of Asian frozen veg, Thai curry in coconut milk, and packaged curry flavored tofu nuggets. It was a test purchase. Turns out they're not bad. OMGoodness - is that the twins' mom in the hat? How old is she?
