  1. Nice to see everyone. I'm off to make myself a Greek salad for lunch.
  2. I need a new one, but bought one for my son a year ago and they all seemed to be pillow top. How do you flip a pillow top mattress? Will they wear out faster since you can't flip them?
  3. That movie is one of my guilty pleasures. I've seen it in whole or in part a ton of times. I put up a picture from the movie on a PowerPoint and gave a student a food prize (sorry , Dr Now) if they could name the movie. It was the scene with Bill Paxton from the back, looking at the 'greenage.' Aliya jr went to kindergarten in OK, where they have tornado drills in the schools. He was traumatized. He still freaks out if the siren goes off. We're not quite in Tornado Alley, but close enough for a number of sightings each year.
  4. What kind of bowls? Regular bowls - dishes? Some kind of food bowl? I'm doing veg keto. This sounds good and doesn't have the cauliflower crust (not a fan) that's on a lot of keto sites. I could use a veg 'meat' pepperoni or just some peppers & onions. What - they didn't eat the lettuce? How can you eat that stuff without the lettuce? Why did they put sour cream on the lettuce if they weren't going to eat it? Did they just tip the lettuce leaf up into their mouths?
  5. Didn't they drive there? If they were so tired, couldn't the friend drive and get a couple of rotisserie chickens, some salad & fruit from the salad bar, and a couple of halo tops? : )
  6. Am I the only one who likes the cute little bladder on the commercials?
  7. That and 'I'm working so hard.' Watched part of Shenaynay's repeat and she says this all the time. She's not the only one. What is the hard work? Most of them don't cook for themselves. They don't shop, they just eat. It's not hard. Babies do it. Tell it Dr. Now - you can't out exercise your mouth.
  8. Yeah. I was thinking the same thing. Sad, isn't it?
  9. Boy, I remember Susan as being big (she did really well for herself after the surgery) , but this picture shows just how bad off she was. Jeez.
  10. I just watched this series on amazon prime, 'Murders and their mothers.' Trust me, the revolving door of step-dads, abuse or not, seems to be a prime reason guys go off the deep end. This is one reason I didn't bring another man in when my husband died. My son was 14 - lots of possibilities for family drama. Nope. I wasn't going to bring that into my home. Gosh - I'm listening to these two discuss their family history. Wow. And you think you've got problems?
  11. Tattoos all over the place. Is that an open purse tattooed on her chest?
  12. Hello my people! How's everyone's eating habit? I had more zucchini with mozz & peppers w/marina.
  13. Watching this train wreck as I cook and eat dinner. So, not only is she enmeshed with her family (as usual on this show), but she's never been out of Indianapolis? Wha?? How can you not have been out of town your whole life? It reminded me of when my mother would take elementary students to the Smithsonian. We lived in DC. All of this stuff is free and parents had never taken their kids to the museums or even to the Mall for 4th of July or the summer cultural festival. Free. Just get out of your house and take the bus. Bring a sandwich and eat for free. I wonder what mom thinks of Shenaynay not getting the surgery? Mom looks and sounds like she could bring the beat down, but maybe she'll take her child's side and just keep feeding her. I may have to turn in my Pounder ID card, but when they showed the picture of her as a little girl in the blue dress, I felt sorry for her. She was so big for so long and no one thought to try and figure out what was going on or to put her on a program before she got older and was out of their control. I blame the parents for that stuff. Whoa - did anyone see she has a GoFundMe and is asking for $50,000 to tell her "true story" and help her lose weight? I'm not sure about posting reddit links, but you can go over there and find the post, "Schenee Cleaned Up Her GoFundMe; Her TRUE Story Was Not Told!" Apparently there was an original version and an edited version. Man oh Manischewitz. Schenee - your true story was told and we know exactly who and what you are. Remember, they can't edit what you don't say.
  14. There is someone on here named 'Mothra'??? Outstanding! Sorry if you are a long-time pounder and I haven't noticed before.
  15. Really?! I didn't know that. I hate to go all LDS stereotypes, but maybe that's why her family was nice and generally supportive. We believe that families are together forever - as a unit. It's one of the reasons I converted - when you're going to be with the same people forever, you make more of an effort to be nice to them and learn to deal with them in the right way while you're here. We're not perfect (Nikki's mom), but they sure were a much better example of a family than other people we've seen on this show (Nicole, I'm talking to you). Wait, I must be dumb as heck - how could I have missed the temple behind the two of them and her modest wedding gown?
  16. From the video, "How can we stop people's worlds from shrinking?" Well, you could manage your weight better. We've got disabled veterans coming back from Afghanistan who may really need information about accessibility, but you need an app because you can't close your mouth? My PhD is in information science. I know a number of people who do research on accessibility technology (including creating apps that address needs for different abilities). I don't think any of them create apps for large people. Now, there may be some need for this population to know where there's an accessible bathroom, but for the rest of this, jeez louise... We frequently ask ourselves why don't people 'wake up' when they are 300/400 pounds. Now we see why. Why should they when they can just app their way around town? I had a former student who was very similar to the spokesperson in the video. Sadly, she passed away a year ago. She needed special seating in class because she couldn't fit the regular desk. A number of students went from class to jobs (this was grad school), so I let them eat during class. She would spread out so much food on her table. I wanted to say something, but it's hard - you say the wrong thing and they've got the disability people down on you for daring to bring up the topic. Alas, it wasn't a wake up call when she couldn't fit in a desk, it wasn't a wake up call when we discussed insulin and she was taking tons of it due to her poor eating, it wasn't a wake up call when the other students had a sandwich and fruit for lunch and she had a big take out spread. I am sorry about what happened to her and don't know if anything I could have said would have made a difference.
  17. I swear I am going to bring a washcloth to work next week, put it on my head, and see if anyone says anything. Workplaces are so touchy about saying anything to anybody these days for fear of not being diverse enough, you practically have to go postal before HR says anything about behavior. I'm gonna bet a dollar I could wear a washcloth on my head all day and no one would say a thing. They'd be torn - it's a professional environment, but it's at a university where eccentricity is tolerated. Plus, in my office they know I am LDS. They'd probably think it was some kind of Mormon thing and leave me alone. The big question is - do I have to wet the washcloth?
  18. I managed to see some of the old shows today and caught 'crying Pam.' Now that some years have passed and I actually see what Doug did (as opposed to just Pam crying), I don't think it was that bad. It was a different look, but that's what he does. I love the kind of fireplace they had originally and can see why Pam didn't want it changed, but it wasn't awful. I thought Doug was up to his old tricks with the burlap, but the room didn't look bad on camera. Not sure how good the burlap walls looked in person - I think I'd want that kind up thing put up by professionals - but the sister seemed to like the room. Doug strikes me as the kind of decorator who wants to see his vision (he as much said so in reference to the white room), rather than work with what the client wants. I don't think he's terrible, but I'd never hire him. Count me as another with teary eyes over Frank.
  19. They did say out of the box, but you're right. I did see her eat out of Styrofoam, so maybe that's what they meant. I know people use dry ramen in salad toppings, so I was kinda thinking maybe you could eat pasta like that, as icky as dry and boring as that would be.
  20. Wait a minute ... I'm over on reddit and folks are saying that Shanaynay eats spaghetti out of the box - that's when she puts the sugar on it. What. the. heck? Did anyone else see this? I've seen the show and some of the extended show and must have missed this both times. She's eating dry pasta with sugar on it and wonders why she's as big as a house?
  21. My sister just bought a house in another state and did it all on her phone. Not even a desk top (doesn't have one). If that's the case, surely, since we know Shanaynay has a smart phone, she could have checked out apartments before leaving Indianapolis. Shoot - I just remembered I got an apartment in Seattle while I was still in DC. Rolled off the plane, into the rental office and into my own place. And I rented a house months before I came out here for a faculty job. Shanaynay must not be as knowledge as she thinks she is.
  22. I saw a Supersize vs Superskinny and the British guy visited an American who had his garage done so he could take a shower in it in his wheel chair. The wife hosed him down - he just wasn't on a porch like Nicole the Juggalo. Found the clip for you. Go to about 12:01.
  23. I just did a quick check. You can relocate with Section 8, tho one source said your state may require you to live there for 1 year before moving. I'm trying to write an article here before the deadline, folks... this back and forth isn't helping. Maybe I should be like Shanaynay and keep messing with the internet and just ask God to write it for me.
  24. I read it, it was funny, but I'm at work and can't post as much as I'd like. People need to read my link about exploding bodies in crematory furnaces, too.
