  1. I've been watching the Alex Murdaugh trial, with all the talk about SLED. I just knew I was gonna be repeating "SLED" in recovery and the nurses would wonder what the heck I was talking about.
  2. Having just had surgery last month, I had 2 pre-surgery appointments, including one for anesthesia, and one cardiac appointment. Had any of them presented an issue, they would have rescheduled. I might even have been put on new meds. No way would they have me show up at the hospital just to tell me they found a problem 3 weeks ago.
  3. It seemed a little light for anyone wrangling kids or working outside the home, even in a sedentary job. It did remind me that I had cucumber in the fridge that I need to eat before it goes bad.
  4. Yup. I should have gone downstairs for the chocolate and diet Pepsi when I had the chance.
  5. Dang it, I keep switching tasks because bubba is boring. Did Dr Now approve him even tho he's nowhere near his goal?
  6. Yup. They don't understand it's all in the food, in the diet, but they won't let themselves understand because they want.the.food. If you've ever seen Secret Eaters, a lot of them go to the gym or do exercise, but then go to the pub or have a snack right after. That's not how weightloss works.
  7. Please don't say that word. My hairdresser of 7 years told me today that she's leaving. I almost had a tantrum on the floor of the salon. I'm so traumatized I may need some Reese's thin cups with a diet Pepsi chaser.
  8. I was busy looking up stuff - how much weight did he lose in 3 months? Lemme take a guess that it wasn't 100+ lbs?
  9. For those of you interested in pelvic exams on women without their consent - I was looking for an article I read a few years ago where female med students were being coerced into having them done on them by male students. I don't have time to find that, but did find this: pelvic exams without consent
  10. A story - I moved to a new city and had a long term temp job in the accounting office of the OB-GYNs in a hospital. I did the invoices for 'pelvic modeling.' Finally, I had to ask about it and yeah, it was what I thought, but couldn't believe. Here's the deal though - the hospital used to have med students do pelvic exams on patients who were under anesthesia for procedures unrelated to needing a pelvic exam. Because of the hospital's location, most, if not all, of these women were of color. I learned that finally a nurse spoke up and there was a big to do and lawsuit, so now they had paid volunteers. It's stomach turning.
  11. He's already looking for excuses. He doesn't know what to eat - I'm pretty sure Dr Now's book has some eating/recipe ideas. Am I a bad person for wanting to just keep smacking most of these patients until they wake the heck up?
  12. I buy those tuna salad pouches for snacks and food storage. By mistake I picked up a Thai Chili Style tuna pouch. I wasn't sure about it, but it was quite tasty!
  13. Me neither. I can't imagine anything less appealing - and serving it with tater tots didn't make it sound any better. What grown person eats that way?
  14. I don't do keto, but I do lower carb because of the diabetes. There were days when I'd be carnivore and just have a ribeye. A doctor I follow on YT said that you can eat that way again, but it may take months and you probably can't do OMAD again. That sucks. But I'm working on the steaks and 1/2 a steak at a time seems OK. Maybe in a couple of months I can have a whole one again.
  15. Are you over it now? My docs said I could eat what I want from right after surgery, but I'm just trying a few things here and there. I had a ribeye, but had to split it between 2 meals. Same with some Chinese that I had. Nothing made me sick, but I can't eat a large meal, or even a meal-sized meal. Even being on Ozempic and having reduced serving sizes, I've had to reduce them even more so I don't feel stuffed. That's probably a good thing.
  16. I can't believe I made my only child get off the phone so I could be here on time. Hello, Pounders! My eating habit was Walmart Asian frozen wings, which aren't bad at all (I don't use the sauce) and some keto ice cream. I'm still testing out foods post-gallbladder surgery. So far, so good.
  17. I read that as 'ice cream salad.' I thought, Ooh! What's an ice cream salad? Another dream crushed.
  18. Well. Glad that's over. I need a Yasso bar. See y'all next week.
