  1. OMGoodness. I'll be thinking of Rocky Mountain Spotted Feet all night. I'm terrible - I audit human subjects research and come across all kinds of little known diseases under study. I'm gonna tell aliya jr that I had an audit for Rocky Mountain Spotted Feet, and that it's spreading into our state. He's such a hypochondriac, he'll be shaking in his boots. hahahahaha
  2. Hey, at least you don't have a tornado coming your way. Wow, Liz's lymphodema is like a basketball on her leg. If people knew this would happen, do you think they'd stop eating at 3-400 lbs or is the addiction that strong? The WLS is just the first step; there are years of surgeries and recoveries afterward.
  3. Jeez, how long have I been coming here and I go to the wrong thread? How y'all doing? My eating habit is homemade mango almond milk shake, w/some nonpareils on the side.
  4. He had gastric sleeve in the 1st show. He was trying to get a revision this time around.
  5. Dr Now, you are a good guy. btw - am I the only one who smiles when they see 'Dr Nowzaradan, bariatric surgeon' every time he comes on? Like it's been, what 8 yrs? I can see doing it at the beginning of the show, but not all through it.
  6. Thank you. I audit human subjects research, mostly biomed, and needed a biomed-type answer.
  7. Oh my goodness. I was writing and didn't hear the weight clearly. I thought he had gained, but not that much. Dang, that is a lot of food. A whole lotta food.
  8. I am counting down the weeks (retiring July 31). My son says I should just play solitaire and eat popcorn at work all day until then. I'm at a university and can be casual, but no jeans (I don't even have a pair) except on Friday. I just try to be one step above the students.
  9. What is the nekkidness in front of people? Didn't he have some kind of big t-shirt/muumuu kind of thing in the first show? Why would you let EMTs see you like that? And yes, I know they've seen a lot, but he isn't comatose. He doesn't have to be naked like that. Even Robert wore baggy sweat shorts.
  10. Years ago a Weight Watchers buddy of mine said something similar. When you come home and put on pajamas, you don't notice as the weight creeps up. I have comfortable 'at home' clothes now (sans bra), but they are clothes and would 'warn' me I was starting to gain.
  11. Obviously the weight gain is bad for his body, but can any of the medical peeps here speak to the effect on the body when someone like Sean gains and loses 100s of pounds over and over again? Does it matter or does it create problems?
  12. It's 58 here in the cornfields. Yup.
  13. I bought the original show. Sean says, "I bit someone once." At least from that statement, he doesn't seem to be an habitual biter. People do all kinds of things once. I understand you have personal experience with people on the spectrum; I'm not trying to cause an argument. I just wonder how much behavior these days is labeled as resulting from autism, when it isn't. Sean went to school when school systems were aware of autism and the need for special ed or placement in regular classrooms. There was plenty of time for him to be diagnosed as autistic, but such a diagnosis was never mentioned (maybe he was diagnosed, who knows? I'm just saying it was never mentioned). I went to school during the 60's & 70's; I doubt anyone with behavioral issues back then would have been so labeled. Not everyone who behaves differently or has problems controlling behavior is autistic. Again, not to belittle those who are, just saying that on almost every board I'm on, from FB to reddit, folks are quick to jump in with an armchair diagnosis of autism. Sean's parents divorced. The mother admitted to babying him. When you are not disciplined, when you are not called to be accountable for your actions, you may behave badly and your interactions with people may be difficult. I would place more of the blame on the divorce, his reaction to it, and his mother's apparent weakness by compensating for the divorce by babying Sean.
  14. Sean could have used some kind of meal delivery plan. If he really wanted to make a change and feels he doesn't know how to do it, he could commit to just eating the meals and not ordering delivery. It's like none of these people understand how many calories fast food has. If they gave up the fast food alone, they would drop weight before they ever needed to see Dr Now.
  15. No! I do not need to see some kind of fantasy re-boot of the Beatles. I saw them in person in the 1960's. To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen - I knew the Beatles and whatever they're trying to foist off in this movie are no Beatles.
  16. I agree. I don't find him intellectually disabled; I don't think he's on the spectrum, either. He's been coddled and babied and is grieving his mother. He can (could) make changes, but he needs help, like a group home or a social worker or something. Plus - I don't blame dad. Who knows why there was a divorce and whether/how much the mom poisoned Sean against his father? She may have made it difficult for the father to keep in touch with Sean. It happens. Sean is a baby, and I recognize it's not entirely his fault, but he is unwilling to put the work in - like every other obessee on this show - otherwise thy would have stopped at 3 - 400 pounds.
  17. Whoa - 709! Up from 500-something in the hospital? Jeez. So, no money for healthy food, but money for garbage that puts on the weight, huh? How does he walk on that Houston pavement with no shoes? Dr Now - "I'm gonna pull out the death certificate and leave the date open." Savage.
  18. They all complain about it (except for Milla, I think, who took it pretty well). You're on 'My 600 lb Life.' You are huge. If left to your own devices, apparently you'd eat until you exploded. You should thank the Lord that you're in the hospital and your body has a respite from your lack of control.
  19. I have thousands of dollars of crowns & other dental work in my mouth. I don't do sticky caramels anymore (tho Rollo is indeed a good product). Many years ago I pulled out a crown eating a Tootsie Roll. You only need that to happen once.
  20. I've wanted to try them, but I am so traditional. I like the regular and peanut. I've never liked any of the new flavors. Maybe it's a sign telling me to leave the M&Ms alone.
  21. How y'all are? Enough time has passed since he died, so I don't think I will be too sad about this. I had a Greek salad. Dr Now would be proud.
  22. I just watched part of Ep 1 on YT (can't find the whole thing and my cable system is in some kind of contract dispute, so I can't see it on TV). Over the years, I've noticed that many contestants say this is their only chance of moving into culinary. Wha? No, it isn't. Get a job in a restaurant. Get a 1-2 yr certificate at a community college. Really bite the bullet and go to Johnson & Wales or the CIA. There are many ways to approach this career change if you want it. I wonder how many of them go back home and tell themselves that since they didn't win, they aren't going to try anymore? So much for passion. I think a lot of them see celebrity chefs and imagine that high-end lifestyle. If they really wanted to cook, I'm pretty sure IHOP and Red Robin always have openings.
