Man, I just played that last week. I love that stuff.

Hello Pounders! My sister called me and I lost track of time. No eating habit so far.
-
Good idea, but maybe they do it with the nutritionist. Dr Now is there to do the surgery and see if they are trending down in their weight. That's it. He has other staff for the other stuff, such as taking weight. Before I retired, I met for about 6 weeks with one of my employer's health counselors with one goal being to see how I could improve my dieting so I didn't blow up like a whale once I was at home. We did some behavioral therapy. I didn't journal everything I ate, but I did go over some of the choices I was happy with or not so happy. I think this type of thing is more useful with the nutritionist or counselor than Dr Now. Plus, it's not unusual to be asked to keep a food journal, so maybe they do it, but we don't see it.

Mike Nesmith! I remember seeing a picture of him a few years ago, after pretty much not seeing him since the Monkees, and thinking that he looks like somebody's grandpa at the Walmart. Time passes for us all.

Question - As much as I love Dr Now, is he expecting too much when these guys live in a van, temporary housing, etc.?

Maybe I missed something on my way to the kitchen - why is only 1 brother doing the plan when they both need it? Did the other brother even get weighed?

That's when I'm glad I live in Iowa and in a smallish town. We just don't have those issues. That said, my town is ground zero for the virus in Iowa (a big tour group got it all at once, and then it went community-wide). So, I don't think a lot of people would crowd together now if they could help it.

My grocery store was 24/7 and is now 8 - 8, for restocking & disinfecting. They also have 'senior' hour from 7 - 8 am. Pregnant women, immune compromised, & disabled can come as well and things are less likely to be out of stock. I went to the senior hour the other day to check it out. It's too early for me (I didn't retire to get up at dawn). I just *needed* some ice cream. I have several months of food, but I'm Mormon and that's what we do. I also get food to last over the winter since our weather can be so bad here. I stocked up in October, with last year's Polar vortex in mind, but this as been a mild winter, so I still have most of my stuff. I also buy paper goods 6 months at a time, so no running around looking for toilet paper (who would have thought TP would be an issue?). I've been knee-deep in reddit for the past couple of weeks and am just heart-broken to see so many people, people w/families, that didn't realize they should have some food laid by and didn't know what to do because now the shops are being stripped bare. Or, people who bought flats of ramen, thinking that's all they needed. No one wants to eat just ramen for 6 weeks. But, when I tell my friends they should have a little spare food & household items around, maybe not LDS levels, but something, I'm the bad guy. OK.

Don't even go there. I haven't had the nerve to look at mine all week and when I finally did, I wanted to cry.
-
I bought the episode. I play it on my Kindle when I go to sleep. I've played it tens of times. Usually I fall asleep before the dad shows up. Sometimes I wake up and it's still on. It's great. I get a lot of pleasure from it. Don't judge.
-
I was listening while in the kitchen, so no visuals. I kept thinking, "Why are these guys crying all the time?"

When I retired last summer, I put a timer on my computer. Every 45 minutes it blanks out the screen and tells me to get up (you can put in your own message). It's called 'break time' and is an add-in for Chrome. Even with a sedentary job, between walking from the commuter lot, being a whole building's width away from the ladies' room, and random just walking around, it adds up to exercise you don't get working from home. You will wind up on this show if you don't watch out. Your back will also thank you.

I'm back. I didn't go crazy - scrambled eggs w/Italian blend cheese, 2 veg sausage patties, and a strawberry almond milkshake. A weight management trick I learned - use sugar free jello as the flavoring in 'milk.' It thickens it & gives flavor. I also add some splenda. I can drink this as needed and don't have to buy the expensive Boost, SlimFast, Ensure, etc. Plus, I think they all have milk, so I have to take a lactose pill with them, which I don't want to do all of the time.
-
Jeez. I haven't eaten. All of a sudden I want some chaffles, veggie sausage, apple sauce, a baked potato, and a homemade almond milkshake (lactose issues). I may have to watch from downstairs while I'm in the kitchen. 😏
-
2 questions - 1) where are they and 2) what are all the splotches? I notice a lot of obesees have them. They're brownish and don't look like an active rash or infection.
-
Hello Pounders! I haven't eaten yet, but I had some pizza for lunch. People living in a van, jeez. On the other hand, this may be a popular choice for a lot of people a few months from now.

Bye, folks! Back to coronavirus sub reddits while listening to AmberLynn Reid reactors. See y'all next week. Be safe out there.
-
Huh. I'm a big fan of Olay. Is there a factory shut-down I don't know about? 😄

You can freeze milk. When my son was school-aged and I didn't have a car, I'd get a bunch of milk, pay for a cab ride home, and freeze what we didn't use right away so I wouldn't have to struggle with it every week. Also, the person may be buying for multiple people or has a large family. People with kids at home 24/7 can go through a lot of milk. (is this where I say no one needs dairy milk and they should drink almond & soy milk?)

Yeah. I learned when I was first diagnosed as diabetic to leave that stuff alone. It's not the answer to a sweet tooth. You're better off with a little of the real stuff or none at all.
-
Yeah. My mother had that same problem not too long ago. It's hard to imagine being sick as a dog, needing intervention, and being so fat they can't read the X-ray.

How do you not go to the bathroom for weeks without having some kind of major painful impacted bowel or something? 😓
-
You're a wonderful person. I am not. I'm an old hippie and I'd be stashing that oxy for the future. 'Cause you never know... On a serious note, I've known a couple of people who needed real pain relief and the doctors gave them a hard time and not the level of relief they needed. I like having a back up in case some doctor tries that with me.

I'm bored and went back to reading reddit. Just learned that my regional grocer has set 7-8 am as the hour for seniors (that would be me). Do these people not realize that I retired so I didn't have to be anywhere at 8 am? We are civilized people out here in fly-over country. None of that screaming and cussing and taking stuff out of others' baskets. I don't need to get my emergency ice cream at 8 am.

If my son has a boy, it wants to name it Napoleon (the son has a thing for him). I keep asking him to think about the kid. On the other hand, I am opting for Tesla (as in Nikola, not the car, because we both have a thing for him) as a middle name. I just hope it won't be Napoleon Tesla.
