No kidding. It's not like I've never been in a Walmart - get a chicken, a bag of salad, and go crazy with an apple & peanut butter. Shoot, have a Weight Watchers ice cream; it's still got to be fewer calories than whatever you get in the drive through. Get a frozen Stouffer's meal and a head of lettuce. Still fewer calories. This isn't rocket science. Seriously though, I have been so tired after work that I would stop in a restaurant for take out rather than a salad bar because I just couldn't deal with getting the salad together and just wanted someone to hand me food so I could put my face in it and eat. The struggle is real.

I don't understand. How long has it been since she had the surgery? How the heck can it be stretched out already unless she is OVEREATING?? If that is the case, shouldn't there be some therapy or dietitian lessons or something before more surgery? All that recovery, etc., why not find out why you can't stick to a meal program? Just turned around to see Chay in her full dress and makeup. She so looks like a lot of librarians I know! (used to be faculty in library program. Dey is my peeps, so it's not a diss.) Still not going to contribute to her buying/renting a house, tho.

I've posted that my grown son doesn't like me to talk about the show. Well, the other evening he came over to visit. I had a repeat of the show on in the background; I wasn't paying attention and don't even remember whose show it was. He plops in an easy chair and we start talking. Little by little, he starts to look at the TV. As we're talking, every now and then he stops, looks at the TV, and cries out, "What the hell is that?" "WTF?" "Wait a minute..." Finally I said, "I thought you didn't want me talking about the show?" to which he replies, "Yeah, I don't want to talk about it, but damn. Look at that stuff!" Now you see why I watch the show, O Son and Heir.

I'd watch that on a loop, 24/7.

Love the part where James, after gaining even more weight and Dr Now telling him to go back to Kentucky, says that he might "disrespect the man." Disrespect him for what? Telling the truth? You gained the weight, James; he didn't put it on you with a trowel. James has a lot of trash talk for someone who can't get out of bed.

I knew I had someone in mind who was a little person in the medical field! Yes, Dr Jen! If they admitted Ayanna to nursing school, they must have realized she'd have some limitations. Shoot, I had breast reduction done by a surgeon who was a short Italian guy who used a step stool. Didn't make him any less of a surgeon tho (it was all I could do not to walk down Market St in Philly with my shirt over my head, to show everyone his work). I hope she goes back to school, it was a shame to see her reduced to being a baby sitter while everyone else was enjoying life. Maybe she could go back for health admin where her physical limitations wouldn't be so much of an issue.

He wanted to work... why wasn't he? People who want something make a plan to make it happen. Did he think a gaming job was going to drop in his lap? Has he gone to school for computers? I was just thinking the other day that all this time he's been home with mom, he could have taken a couple of classes at community college. Pauline certainly didn't need him every moment. Even if they made a table with all the things she might need while he was out, it could be done. He would have had a social life. He would have learned something. He might look like more than the passionless schlub he looks like now. Why am I spending what little brain power I have left thinking about these people????

Especially when she couldn't get out of the car and walk 10 steps to give a bag to A GUY IN A WHEELCHAIR. Jebus H if this woman isn't going to make me curse tonight.

Oh man, that's just what I was going to say! I work at a university. We have a lot of lesbian couples. That look is not unfamiliar to me.

I'm not going to snark on her getting shoes. She seemed really embarrassed. I bet she doesn't have anyone but Dylan and a medical person touching her legs and feet. Even tho she may realize on one level that she needs to get the shoes, on another level, I can't imagine going into a shoe store in her situation and hoping 1. there are shoes that will fit and 2. the salesperson won't laugh or make a rude remark. Good for you, Pauline. Now get some new pants... What? I'm writing this nice tribute and you aren't wearing the friggin' shoes? What? Dang. Just go get in a pool then. And you need to walk more than 3x a week. Double dang. I just can't be nice to some people.

I will also add that going to a therapist may be a cultural thing. I've met a few international grad students in my time who really needed a therapist. They felt they should deal with their problems on their own (despite people telling them that they weren't dealing with them well and could use some help) and also had a sense of shame in going to a therapist. No way would they talk about therapy in casual conversation they way most of us would. They were from Western European countries, so it's not like they were from places without therapists.

A lot better, but still too much for me, and I'm not afraid of makeup. Good for her, tho.

I was searching for the transition show when I heard something about "can the water hold me?" What the heck? Who even says such a thing? It's water. It'll hold you. Jeez Louise.
