  1. I looked on the TLC page but didn't see when the show starts again. I've missed y'all.
  2. I had no idea! I haven't watched Whitney in a good while, but saw some comments in the FB group and just happened to catch her tonight. I didn't know why Babs was in the hospital until I checked in here. I lost my 91 yr old mother at the end of June. She was in and out of the hospital for 2 months. I don't recall anyone saying she had UTIs, but I will keep it in mind for me. 😃 She did have a lot of really low blood sugar incidents, whereas she had been in good control before she got sick. I knew she was fading and made my peace with that. My (much) younger sisters, who live in her same town, were in bad shape. I'm a widow, so I've been thru this on a personal level, and with co-workers. I wasn't into the loss of control that Whitney is exhibiting. And because I have to snark about our girl - in all these years, it looks like she hasn't lost an ounce. How's her health?
  3. Plus, Vanessa has a teen son. I bet he's told people they're going to be on a TV show. And there's his mom acting like an idiot. I'm an old hippie. I can imagine a lot of families where nudity, and public nudity, are more acceptable and the kids have been around it for years. On the maternal side, my late husband's people are Finnish Americans. The whole family uses the sauna together. Still, you can't tell me that any young adult wants his mother paraded around on international media like that.
  4. I don't think Vanessa's behavior makes anyone look bad but herself. It's not a nudity thing (tho it might be, in this case), it's that this isn't that type of resort. Act appropriately for your environment. If they were at a place where nudity was acceptable, and they wanted to do a whole 'I'm fat, I'm proud, I'm nekkid' thing, fine.
  5. Why do they always do the outlier foods? Just bring some pepper strips. Maybe a granola bar? A plain piece of fruit? Jeez. I was vegan for 8 years and I don't want any dang kale chips.
  6. First, I'm getting really tired of the vulgarity. No one needs to know what position you like. Second, does anyone know whether WLS will be covered again if you already had it once?
  7. Well, I thought we were going to have a happier ending, but it was not to be. Is this the last show of the season? Will they do a 'Where are they now?'? If it's not the last show, see you guys next week. Otherwise, watch those eating habits.
  8. I don't think David is stupid. It's too bad, with his life experience, that he didn't go into counseling, or some kind of post-foster care support program, etc. so he could help others. From what I've read, kids who age out of foster care are often completely screwed. They're still young, have limited life skills, may not understand how to navigate college or trade school, not be taken advantage or, may live in poverty for years, etc. David could have done a lot to help them and he would have been a role model for them. Instead, he chose to eat and waste his life away instead of being of service to others.
  9. I guess we should have been able to tell he hadn't lost much because he still moans and groans getting up and getting down. If you lose weight, that should become easier.
  10. I don't know about the gummies, but there are still candies like this on the market that are aimed at diabetics. I don't eat them.
  11. It's the sugar substitute. It's awful. As a diabetic, I ate these treats at first, but then learned they will make you sick real fast, and stopped. I'm better off with a small portion of the real thing. Last summer, someone gave me a bag of hard lemon candy for my birthday. I noticed I was having 'gastric issues' more than usual. I couldn't understand why, every day I was getting sick. The only thing different was ... the candy. Because it was a hard candy, I didn't even look at the packaging, and yeah, it was sugar free for diabetics. Never again.
  12. I thought about that. Usually, they show people cooking or trying to eat a complaint meal. They only showed him moving in. I wondered how his eating habit was once he started living in Houston. Obviously, pretty good. 😄
  13. See, David. It ain't as easy as you thought, huh? Personally, with all those stairs, you should have lost another 20 lbs.
  14. Jeez - most of the season people were moaning about patients not doing the work, now we have a guy who was scheduled at his first follow-up meeting, is doing pool exercises, and actually moving to Houston, and y'all are still complaining. Robin, I hear you. I'm gonna smile and be supportive of David until I have a reason not to - and trust me, David, it won't take much for me to turn the other way, so watch it!
  15. Yeah. I didn't want to get yelled at for being anti-poverty or something, but yeah. She's just not my kind of person. Call me Robin.
  16. So, there are a lot of LDS in Idaho. I've met a few of them all the way here in Iowa. I looked at Robin's decorating for signs she was LDS (such as pictures of a temple, printed quotes about family life, etc.), just because of her demeanor and style, but didn't note anything. A lot of women, even young women, I know decorate like that. I'm gonna say her demeanor is very Utah/Idaho LDS to me. She may be what we call 'inactive.' She may have grown up in the Church and left it, but many women I know at church are like that. It's not bad, and is certainly nicer than dealing with vulgar, mean-spirited people. Y'all don't have to worry. I was a hardhearted, middle-aged, former hippie, east coast, woman before they got to me and the conversion only 'took' so far - as some of you may have noticed. 😄
  17. What the heck are fermented grapes? Oh. Now I remember. That's what happens when your strongest drink is a diet Pepsi.
  18. Yeah. I might watch it again, but I'm kinda turned off by Vanessa (the one who can't decide if she should do the surgery or not). Just because you were raised poor, doesn't mean you have to be vulgar. I find her uncomfortable to watch. I would like to see what happens to Ashley, who had the surgery previously. I wonder what Dr Procter will do with her.
  19. Didn't he meet her when he was an older teen or something? Should he call her 'mom'? Mrs Whatever? Miss Robin? Serious questions. I'm not sure what else he should call her, but her first name. Miss Robin isn't a saint, tho. If she took him in to help him improve, she isn't helping with the food she feeds him.
  20. I'm surprised Robin lets him eat on that white couch. I know I wouldn't.
