  1. Maybe because she was diagnosed MS. I can only imagine how scary it must be to have an unpredictable disabling disease. She might be too afraid to be out there on her own with children. As horrible as that marriage to Bobby must be, it must be a relief to have someone there to provide physical, emotional and financial support. Also, as the mayor's wife, she has his influence and access to even more resources to help her than she would if they were divorced.
  2. Ugh, you are probably right about it being Camilla. She is like a cockroach, hard to kill. Thursday's episode is the season finale. There are only 13 episodes. ETA: I have seen speculation online that it is James. He is with the CIA which wants Teresa alive so maybe he is sent with men to help her.
  3. Chiming in about who gets custody of Douglas. I don't care how unrealistic it is, I want Hope and Liam to get custody. I love that kid who plays Douglas. The only real shot of Brad Bell keeping him around and giving him airtime is if he is in the midst of the neverending Hope/Liam/Steffy triangle. No doubt that Bell is going to try to either redeem Thomas or extend the "Thomas is evil" story. Whatever happens, he needs to be careful. I was on YT watching the Thomas/Douglas scenes and there were some really upset and angry comments about Thomas verbally abusing Douglas. After watching those scenes, I think that it is possible that the scenes with Thomas yelling at Douglas were filmed separately. I noticed that some of the shots were really tight and the actors were only shown together for a couple of moments.
  4. I am really looking forward to next week's season finale. The judge's son takes Javier to Emilia's grave. It looks like he tells Boaz who explodes. I think that maybe Teresa is telling Javier that she can't protect him. I can't think who else it could be. If only he had told her the truth immediately, she would have forgiven him and been prepared for the judge's betrayal. I wonder if George is pointing his gun at Dumas?
  5. She wasn't a nurse. She was working with the assassin who killed or dumped the real nurse who was attending Teresa. I think that they took her to ambush in case it turned out that she was lying about where to find the main assassin.
  6. I find it really difficult to believe that Jessica is this naive. Didn't she do business with cutthroat businessmen, etc.? How can she believe Bobby so easily about his relationship with McGann and the death of Tony Deal when all these other powerful men doubt his integrity? She should be skeptical as hell and watching her back. These are dangerous men. McGann is an asshole with the "Barack" reference. Jeff marking his territory with Nick was amusing. He noted the resemblance between Nick and Bobby. Does he know that they are brothers? I did like that he reached out to Angela who was being unreasonable. Jessica works in the mayor's office, she isn't the mayor. She needs to start looking for somewhere else to live and accept Jessica's help if needed. Keri is embarrassing with this affair with scummy Bobby who should be embarrassed by his scumminess, but isn't. I wish his wife would blow his career up by surreptitiously outing his affair. So Yoli's parents are undocumented and she is DACA. That is tough.
  7. Teresa's empire is expanding due to her enemies' incompetence. I think she was right to put Boaz in charge in Miami. He is crazy enough to scare those dealers into not crossing her and he is close enough that she can rein in his craziness. It was good to see George, but she lied to him about getting justice for Birdie. I can't help wondering if that will come back and bite her in the ass. Maybe it turns George against her and that is how she dies. I am surprised that the judge's son is so determined to get justice for Emilia. I thought the truth would come out by accident. Now Javier knows, I wonder what comes next. Teresa still doesn't know that he killed the judge's nephew and that is bound to come out sooner than later. Teresa was flashing back to the men from the Bayou crew. I wonder if she will strike an alliance with them to take down the judge along with Dumas. It would be a smart move. I bet they have been waiting generations to take down the judge. I just hope the son survives. Good for Dumas deciding to ally with Teresa against the judge. Given her nine lives, it is a wise decision but he still needs to pay for killing Birdie for no damn reason.
  8. I think Angela's contribution is her ability to stabilize and get through to Pope. He is in love with her and needs her. It probably is her connection to Julia that attracts him to her. He sees through her manipulations and she does tell him the truth. I did like how she mediated between Pope and J. Reminding Pope that J. is his nephew even though he is a liar and can't be trust. J. wised up and redeemed himself a bit when he told Pople about the money he stole. It will be interesting to see if their relationship blows up or if they stay together I was not thrilled with Frankie's return. I am far more excited about Pamela taking her position with the Cody crew next season. I think that Smurf left her everything so she could take over her role when she died and protect her sons which will lead to serious tension with J.
  9. Ms. Timid Tell. Bwah. Elektra is hilarious. Lamar deserved to win that split was insane. Everyone dancing to "I'm Every Woman" with the confetti falling was so much fun. I am so glad that Blanca has new children to raise. They are so young to be living on the streets. They need her.
  10. I forgot to mention that I loved Blanca's red lipstick in the final scenes. She looked lovely.
  11. I enjoyed the finale although I thought it was a bit too long. I was jamming because as usual, the music outstanding! A pun in honor of one of my favorite songs, "Outstanding" by The Gap Band. I felt for Blanca, alone and ill. It was so sad when Pray Tell read her will. I loved that everyone came to stay with her in the hospital. Lots of love, but also having regular visitors improves you care in the hospital or any other health facility because they know people are watching. I loved Elektra fussing like a mother unable to admit her fear and worry about Blanca. It was in character. Never change, Elektra. She deserved to win Mother of the Year. I cheered when Damon showed up. He is right that Blanca saved him and that he would be in terrible place if she hadn't reached out to him. I am so glad that he is negative. I still don't like Pray having a romance with Ricky, but it isn't going away so I'll have to deal. Poor Angel. It was only a matter of time though. Papi and Angel are always so intense, but I love them anyway. Papi is so in love with Angel. I hope she never breaks his heart because it might break him into pieces. I loved Ms. Ford taking him under her wing and Papi's determination to always tell the truth always. I think that Angel could get work in Europe. I noticed that Ford didn't seem surprised about Angel's secret. She knew. I liked the MCs walking in ballroom. ETA: I enjoyed seeing Fredricka locked up even if she was whining annoyingly.
  12. It is difficult for me to believe that they are doing that much with Kamilla, but maybe Eric has a different approach to women, even supporting one. Nah, I still can't imagine that she has that much to do.
  13. It was beautiful and moving. I loved that Pope didn't threaten Adrian and let Deran go, saying that he would do the same if he had the chance to start over. That is love, not the control that Smurf had over them.
  14. You are right. I totally mixed up the actors and Southland and Third Watch.
  15. Great season finale. I am really looking forward to next season now. Pope was so good tonight. Shawn Hatosy is such a talented actor. I have loved him since his days on Third Watch Southland. I hope that this is the start of him getting more to do other than damaged Pope with Ellen Barkin gone. I like him leading the Cody crew. It is more believable than J. taking over. I cracked up when Pope told J. to lose the sunglasses that he isn't John Gotti. I really liked Angela tonight. She is a good bridge to hold Pope and J together. She is right that they are stronger with Pope. They need him and not just as muscle. His brothers will never follow J. Turns out they will do what Pope says. I thought Angela would go tonight. Guess she is sticking around for next season. Hopefully, with lots more to do. I knew Deran wasn't going, especially after that farewell with Pope. Pope let him go so he couldn't. The difference between Pope and Smurf. His brothers chose him over Smurf and love him. So Craig's father is in the picture. I hope he tells Craig who he is. He was Jake who took in Smurf and the twins, right? Pamela was right that he would take her back no matter what she did. He loves her. I wonder if Pamela will be showing up next season. She would bring some desperately needed diversity to the show. The neighbor was played by Renee Props who I loved as Ellie Snyder on ATWT all those years ago. I wish they had given her more to do. She looks really good. I am glad that she didn't go the cosmetic surgery route.
  16. Has Angela ever said what Smurf did to Julia to cause her to hate Smurf so much? Too bad they did those Smurf flashbacks instead of ones of Julia. I am far more interested in Julia's dynamic in that house with her mother and brothers.
  17. I don't think that the problem is the title as much as it is that they waited too long for this spin off. Suits just doesn't have the audience that can carry Pearson any more. But Jessica now thinks that Nick isn't a murderer. Is he supposed to be a dirty cop? I missed some of the backstory in the premiere. In any case, the reluctant combustible attraction romance is a staple of tv shows so Jessica and Nick could be attracted to each other despite their better judgement. I wouldn't be surprised if Jeff ends up becoming a regular (if the show makes it to a second season). D.B. Woodside (Jeff) was likely only not available because of his commitment to Lucifer.
  18. So it was the judge who put the hit on Teresa, killing Tony. She really has nine lives. Teresa woke up murderous as hell. The judge should get out of town as fast as he can. El Gordo's nephew is also not long for this world either. It was good to see hot Guero in the flashback. I have to say that Boaz surprised me accepting his role as Teresa's soldier. He might steal from her on occasion, but he isn't trying to overthrow her. He came to New Orleans because she was hurt and he was looking for answers about Emilia's disappearance. The judge's son will be the one to spill the beans about Emilia's murder causing Boaz and Javier to go batshit crazy. I am excited about next week's episode.Teresa getting her revenge should be entertaining.
  19. I wonder if they are going there with Jessica and Nick. I am not sure what I think about a romance between them. She is taller than him so that would be interesting. I do think that the show is better when Jessica is vulnerable and connecting with others like she did with her family last week and Nick tonight. Maybe she could become friends with Keri and help her grow up. I was embarrassed for Keri when she told the guy that she was in a relationship. It is incredible that she intends to wait for Bobby's wife to die. She must really be in love or think that she is.
  20. For Gina Torres' sake it is sad hardly anyone is talking about this show. She looked gorgeous tonight. She made the city attorney look like a little girl, especially when she towered over her. Her affair with the Mayor makes her so pathetic.
  21. I thought it must have irked the hell out of Smurf that after all her machinations that in the end that her sons choose each other over her. If they are honest, they are more relieved than sad that she is dead and gone. It is why they didn't and won't end up doing anything to J.
  22. She is usually good, but I thought that Ellen Barkin was shockingly bad in that final scene. Killing Smurf has actually peaked my interest about where they will take next season. Smurf's creepy control over her son and the show's lack of diversity have always been a turn off for me. You think that Emily will be sticking around? I thought she was one and done.
  23. Douglas! I have the biggest smile on my face whenever he is on. His scene today was too short. I love seeing him. I love that everyone loves him and is fawning over him.
  24. I totally agree with you. I actually think that if she can get clean and stay clean that Angela would be good for Pope. She is his best chance of making it out alive, especially with J gunning for him. Pope cares enough about Angela to make the effort and she is manipulative enough to keep him moving forward away from J for her own well being. I expect she will be gone in the next episode though, either killed or she will leave. Besides, I am only watching regularly for Emily Deschanel who has been criminally underused. Usually, I watch a few minutes and then change the channel.
  25. What @Danny Franks said. I don't understand how Bucky has taken on this elevated status with some fans. At best, he is a marginal figure, a plot device for Steve's conflict with Tony, T'Challa, Ross, etc. We know more about Sam's experiences in the military and his pain in the first 30 minutes of Winter Soldier than we find out about Bucky's in Civil War. Once Steve secures Bucky in Wakanda, he goes on with his journey of being a superhero. Whaa? Tony share a moment with the man who murdered his parents in an epic battle before he dies? That would have made absolutely no storytelling sense.
