  1. I have ZERO respect for anyone that hung up on looks. That is the absolutely lowest common denominator anyone could set their sights on. Ug. Boring.
  2. Oh they are all complicit. What if the real story is... Christine & Janelle were done with Meri. Kody saw new shiny Robyn and was "sure we can be done with Meri. Let's have Robyn instead" But the tv people were..."uhm...that's a hard sell to the audience. You can add a wife, but not take one away. That screws up the entire show". So Robyn convinces Meri and Kody to keep up their marriage lie. And Christine and Janella are both "meh...whatev...don't love the idea, but do love the money. So we'll won't call it out." That would explain the distance between the wives. And i do think Robyn and Meri always talk in weird codelike language. Kody probably didn't love this whole arrangement because like you said "Kody is Kody". He was probably always on the verge of spilling the beans...unless he got a big house with Robyn...unless he got the bulk of the money...unless they all moved to Flagstaff (cause that's where Robyn wanted to live). Though he couldn't get the GIANT communal house on Coyote Pass. So i wonder what the codeword "safe" actually meant? Did it mean "in danger of spilling the beans on the whole fake Meri/Kody relationship? Like "it wouldn't be SAFE to have the older boys over for a filmed Christmas scene. That wouldn't be SAFE."
  3. The way i see it is Kody agreed to pretend to stay married to Meri for the sake of the show. Then Meri has this whole catfish fiasco (i feel badly for Meri about that), and Kody recoils because he didn't sign up for that. He signed up to pretend he was still married...not to pretend to activitly SAVE a marriage. That would require many confessionals...many scenes with Meri and him talking. It's just a lot more work to keep up that sort of rouse. Plus he didn't like the optics of him being a "wronged man". And now we all finally know what Crybrows and Meri's weird bond was about; both fighting to keep Kody engaged in the scam they were peddling to us all.
  4. Now that they've told us that Meri's participantion in the show was a scam...and Kody and Meri were only pretending to be in any sort of relationship...and Meri and Crybrows were pretending to have a bond...etc... ...now that we know she's lied to the audience from the very beginning... Yeah, I not going to believe a word she writes.
  5. Don't you think it was all just to feed a storyline into the that season? I suspect Kody and Crybrows would have followed through with it too. It would have made Crybrows look like a caring, selfless person. Plus it would have added another child to that important kody/crybrow gene pool. I wonder if it was just a bridge too far for Meri. I recall the storyline coming to an strangely abrupt end.
  6. I'm late to this party...but here are some of my thoughts: 1) "Kody speak"- lol. Seriously? So when he scratches at the door and barks, he has to go outside, right? He's such a simpleton. Oye. 2) This tell all episode clearly pulled the curtain back on the show a bit. Turns out Kody and Meri were broken up from the beginning, but had agreed to keep it private so as not to have it effect the show. Damn. That just sucks. Kody and Meri suck. I don't care that Christine talked about the ring incident. I don't care that Christine broke the code of secrets and faking out the audience. That scene out at the property with the three of them...where Meri is upset that Kody broke their code of silence on their breakup... and Crybrows whails dramatically...ug. And then Kody turns to Crybrows and basically says "I tried to pretend Meri and I were still married because I promised you I would...I promised you I'd keep the show going and money flowing in for you". Yep, now i actually believe Crybrows might try to leave Kody if the show ends. She is clearly setting the groundwork to leave. But where will she go? She definitely didn't help her marketability by being on this show. And she's old and fat now (sorry...had to throw her words back on her ;) ) 3) Sounds like Crybrows inserted herself into all the marriages, huh? So just another lie this stupid show kept going for years. Sure seems like she considered herself a show producer; which explains that whole "sister closet" fiasco, and her insistence the other wives do all the work since she had come up with the idea. I get the idea that Crybrows felt she had to be the "interpretor of Kody speak" because everytime she told him what to say, he got it wrong. Lol.
  7. Night all. I'll go to sleep hating Kody yet again.
  8. Wait...THIS appears to be the end. So Kody saying "I'm done with you, Meri". THAT wasn't the end? But Meri saying "ok then". THAT is the end?
  9. I don't know why C&J are defending Kody. He was all in on plural marriage and parenting when the kids were young and provided an audience and adoration for him. Once some got older and parenting was actual work...he found a younger woman to start over with. He's pathetic. He'll be even angrier when he notices she's older and when those hostages are eventually set free
  10. Yeah...more like ...Sobyn ended a lot of traditions and started some of her own...like the traditional following your adult children to college
  11. Gwad...that damn WHITE SPORTS car and Sobyn's memories...ick. ick.
  12. Yeah....Sobyn....just so you know...none of us feel SAFE when you are on the zoom call. ;)
  13. It's actually troubling. It's beyond fodder for reality tv snark. I'm scared for them.
  14. I mean it does have the look of the base for a new drinkin game. Ie: do not want to insert myself in your life.. and DRINK!
  15. Omg! First- Kody is apparently changing things up and making the couple having the children as the center if the gender reveal. My how novel! Second- those poor, poor unfortunate Sobyn hostages. They looked completely shellshocked.
  16. But...but...it's so obvious that Gino is lying. Soooooo obvious. Still agree. No one would be interested in him. Lying for no reason, still makes you an @ss
  17. ^^^^ this ^^^^^^ She actually said, "I take 100% of the blame...BUT Olivia...." That girl is as dumb as a box of rocks. And what is she mad at Olivia about? According to her it's because of "the way she treated my family". Uhm...isn't your story that she STOLE your wonderful and hugely PROFITABLE music? Soooo...now it's cause of how she treated others? Mariah needs to look up the word TRIANGULATION in the dictionary. --- Who would have guessed that Ethan was the talented singer of the family!!
  18. I agree. I try really hard not to judge her too much. She was always such an awkward child. She seems perpetually immature. She's really just a little girl chasing after her father to try to get his attention. She never will of course. Still...she is so irritating.
  19. Add me to the pro Olivia side of things. That girl is doing amazingly considering all the difficulties she's been through. The Plaths (all of them) have absolutely thrown her under the bus in order to avoid dealing with their own issues. She was assigned the scapegoat role. 1) Kim absolutely had an exit plan lined up early on (even if it wasn't a full on affair) 2) micha and mariha (sp?) are immature and happy to parrot the family "speak" rather than form opinions of their own. 3) Barry is creepy disconnected. He uses lifting weights to crowd out thoughts and emotions. 4) Ethan is a man child and has ZERO plans to change that. He literally said "It's easier to get my way by just lying about what I'm doing". He is a toddler. Olivia deserves so much better than this mess of a "family". The Plaths are the worst. Seeing that flashback to Ethan/Olivia's wedding was heartbreaking. Olivia's voice was so tiny and compliant as she vowed to "obey and follow" toddler Ethan.
  20. BEST recap I've ever read!! Bravo!! Saved me from having to actually watch this dribble. :) p
  21. I'm gonna go back and read all of your insightful replies, but i want to spit this out first while it's in my head. I think Meri's attempt to leave the family really was the catalyst of where they are now. She teied to leave (and i don't blame her for trying. Kody was being abusive with his obvious favoritism.) But that whole catfish thing was a mess. It ended Meri and Kody's marriage and it erroded Meri's already shaken confidence. Kody was able to tell her "stand down". His take was they were public personalities and Meri needed to stand aside, go with the storyline and stay out of his way. So she did. I don't think he was covert or paticularly manipulative. Honestly I don't think he has the intelligence or maturity to be anything but obvious. Meri was just broken enough thst she felt she had to comply. And that empowered Kody. He started thinking he could make the same demands/arrangements with Christine and Janelle. He anticipated the same quiet compliance Meri agreed to. But Christine simply bblewup the plan altogether. And now Meri is back pedaling to the camera. She wants what Christine got. She wants out. And she wants never to have agreed to the situation she is in now. Janelle also wants out but is trying to be as careful as possible. There are children, paychecks, shared property etc... It is a complicated family. Kody has been consistent in what he wants and his aporoach to get it. He's mad it's not working as well as it did at the start with ending his relationship with Meri. ---- That bday party was painful to watch. Sobyn's daughter's behavior was embarrassing. Everyone else, although awkward, was at least leaning in and trying (even the other Sobyn daughter). IF that sourpuss is an adult, she should absolutely be roasted for how she came across. If she's still a minor, her parents are doing her a HUGE disservice letting her appear so badly on t.v. I'd rather attend a funeral than a bday party at Soybyn's house.
  22. Night all!!! I'd like to say "it's been fun"...but we had to watch kody and sobyn...sooo
  23. Christine speaks truth. Kody is a strange strange strange looking man. Then Jelanelle speaks more truth. End episode.
