  1. I believe Bobby said Rufus was busy loading angel blade bullets so that when the "dicks" upstairs heard about the rift and showed up, he and Rufus would go to town on them. I definitely got the impression Rufus was alive.
  2. He wasn't last season when we first met Bobby. My hope is Rufus because I think that could help make AU Bobby more interesting and entertaining, but I'd be down for Ash, Jo, Ellen and I personally think Meg 1.0 could be fascinating if the show didn't waste the opportunity. This is why I have a hard time wrapping my head around it being Micheal. I think the main reason Micheal stayed in the cage for the Amara fight was that they didn't want to touch the Adam issue with a 10-foot-pole. Plus, I still think they're being too obvious about it. The more I think about it, I think it will be Gabriel.
  3. I don't know, I actually think Sunday might be the one night Supernatural would not fare well--Sunday Night Football is not something I'd like to see it go up against as I think there's a huge crossover audience and sports, for most people, usually get the live viewing over scripted shows. My guess for a Sunday night older show would be Supergirl. Personally, I wouldn't pair Wayward and Supernatural together. Of course, there will be some Supernatural fans who watch Wayward, but I think largely fandom isn't going to support it long-term (that is, if it gets picked up at all) and it would be a waste of a lead in. I haven't watched iZombie in ages, but that would be my pick to pair Wayward with. Otherwise, I think Supernatural will probably do just fine on any night they decide to put it on other than Sunday.
  4. I would guess Nina was doing prep for her episode while Amanda was directing her last episode, but who knows? I wouldn't say that Naomi is a beloved character in fandom, but I think TPTB love Amanda Tapping, so maybe they asked her to do a little part at the end of the season?
  5. I'm with you. I don't think it would be more realistic if they swore more and the gore at this point has gotten so ridiculous at times it's laughable to me. In real life, very few people I come into contact with swear. It's usually me whose getting the dirty looks in the room, so I'm not sure I buy they would swear anymore than what they already get away with. I definitely don't see them dropping the "F" word regularly and I find their ways around swearing far more clever and interesting anyway.
  6. Well, Dean did have some time with twins back in Magnificent Seven, but my read of it was that he was just referencing something that happened when he was younger and not something that was ever on screen. It's one of those things you say aloud in the excitement of the moment, but is really a private thought that no one else in the room knows what you're talking about.
  7. Right, as I said, things could've changed. My comment was based from an interview with Kripke back in the day, and I believe that holds true to his run of the show. However, as technology and attitudes changed, that "rule" could've changed too.
  8. Like I said, Standards and Practices makes no sense, they contradict and change so that may not be the case anymore. Plus, as I said, some of it is for special effects reasons and special effects have evolved over the years so they can show more. You mean S3. We didn't see the wire go through his neck, though. We saw it start to cut and then they cut to Sam struggling and Gordon struggling, then Gordon's head falls out of frame, but the wire itself wasn't in frame anymore when the head was actually severed.
  9. Yeah, I don't think they were using the fans to give them a better position at the bargaining table, but were feeling out the fans to see if they even wanted another season, more than anything. I certainly hope that storylines can't be dictated through their contracts, but I wonder if they were pushing for a definite end point? The way they talked about how they sat down and discussed how they'd like the show to end, made me wonder.
  10. Basically I was saying that S11 would've been a new contract for them, but they would've negotiated that contract while they were filming S10, just as they negotiated their S9-S10 contract while they were filming S8 and they negotiated their S7-S8 contracts while they were filming S6. Based on the history of announcements, it seems contract negotiations for Jared and Jensen have been done long in advance so the network and studio can make their decisions on renewals and such. My understanding is this isn't the case for the recurring or regular actors like Misha though. They do their contract negotiations in April or May for the following season. So, Misha should soon be negotiating for S14, but Jared and Jensen's contracts would've already been signed and sealed by that time. So, when Jared said he hadn't signed his contract yet, he would've been talking about the contract for the next season, not the one he was filming at the time. For one, I highly doubt he could be filming a season he didn't already have a contract in place for, but also, the CW would've had their contracts in place before they renewed the season since the show lives or dies with Jared and Jensen. This year seems to be a little different--and probably what's holding up the renewal announcement for a S14--in that it appears Jared and Jensen did not sign on as early in the season as they have before. It seems like they have now, though, since they're suddenly talking about S14 like it's a go.
  11. I believe it applies to anything humanoid. They generally show someone with an ax or machete swinging at a neck, then cut away to a reaction shot of some sort and come back to the head being severed. It gives the impression that you saw the machete going through the head because it's done so quickly, but you really didn't. Part of that is for special effects reasons, but I remember reading an article where Kripke was laughing at all the nasty things you can show being done to an already-dead body, but that you couldn't show the actual act of a head being severed from the body. It seems like Standards and Practices are not uniform across all networks, though, so this may not be the case for all TV, just the CW.
  12. As the link I provided shows, they signed for S9 and S10 at the start of S8. Just like they signed for S7-S8 at the start of S6. So, yes, S11 is a contract season, but they would've negotiated that contract while they were shooting S10 and we don't know that it was a two-year contract or just for one-year. It could be, as @Wayward Son said, that every year is a contract year at this point. However, I heard some scuttlebutt that they were still doing contract negotiations around Christmastime this year for S14. It was unofficial so I have no idea if it is true or not, but it's what leads me to believe they have been signing one-year contracts and were not yet under contract for S14. But since they're now talking about S14 not being their last, it seems apparent they have signed for S14 at this point and maybe a S15? I don't know.
  13. As I recall They were contracted for 1-6 Signed for 7-8 at the start of S6. (I can't find a link, but I remember Demian was still recapping the show at TWoP and he was snarking that, at that rate, Jared and Jensen are going to be fighting monsters on the CW well into their 60s) After Carver came on board in S8 and said he had a 3-year plan (which got stretched to four) they signed for S9-10 to make sure they would see the story through to the end as long as the CW renewed it: http://screencrush.com/supernatural-season-10-cast/ Since then we haven't really heard about their contracts. I have no idea if they have still been doing two-year deals or one-year at this point. Usually we'd hear because someone would ask at a con, but that hasn't happened, as far as, I know since the announcement came out for S9-S10. My feeling is they've been doing one-year deals, though. I also suspect they already signed contracts for S14 and it was probably done back in January.
  14. Yeah, I'm not sure either. Jared and Jensen were super-excited about the idea last year and kinda dropped some hints about it after they had recorded the dialogue for the animated part of it. I'm guessing the set crew has been just waiting to bring that set to life and I can see it being a regular feature of the bunker they shoot in going forward. I bet all the directors will be wanting to stage one of the opening or closing scenes in it now just to shake things up a bit.
  15. And, that sort of thing is kinda suspicious and might draw the wrong kind of attention. They are supposed to be dead, after all. Oh, well, still, I like the idea! ;)
  16. Oh really. That's kinda charming! Like I said, I'm not an aficionado on the show and only have seen the classic episodes with my nieces from time to time. I did pull out my DVDs when they announced it, but didn't get very far for some reason. Maybe I should try again now? ;)
  17. I'm not sure it's so much that they would care if random delivery guys knew where they lived, but it's an unusual place for a civilian to walk into. I mean, think about it, the outside looks like a blocked off sewer tunnel and you walk inside to some James Bond lair below, I think it would get too much attention for their liking and would be somewhat awkward for them to explain. And, once the local community knew they were there and word got around about the place, how long before someone comes knocking wanting to see the place or asking about other things, like tax issues and utilities and such. If I was them I'd be keeping that address to myself. But, then again, I also wouldn't have invited anyone but trusted allies like Cass into the bunker, not even Crowley. Definitely not a Greek God, his one night stand and their love child only a few weeks after I found the place, but what do I know? It's funny, as I said before, I mostly came to Scooby-Doo when I was an adult, but I've never thought of any of the Scooby gang as teenagers. Sure, the bad guy calls them "meddling kids", but in the '70s and '80s, that could mean just someone younger than the speaker, really. I remember 20- and 30-year-olds who were still being called kids by family and friends all the time. I just assumed they were young adults. I don't recall them ever going school or doing high school things, so I didn't realize they were supposed to be teenagers.
  18. Well, sure, but I just don't see Dean using spells. I think it's something he would do himself given how proud he was of it all. But, yeah, he could've used spells, too. However, how many times have I said that logic and reason do not belong here?! ;)
  19. Forgot to comment on this. Basically, it depends on the scene. They have a couple different cars that are set up differently for different scenarios. Night time driving scenes are generally shot on their very, very elaborate poor-man's-process stage that's apparently gotten so elaborate over the years that other productions come to look at it to see how it's done. They have a car that comes totally apart to get whatever angle they want, but it is on stage, so they aren't actually driving then. Sometimes they're being towed with the camera and crew on the vehicle in front of them and, sometimes they are just driving with cameras mounted on the side and front of the car--over the years the crew has gotten really good at rigging the car so they can do more natural driving without needing to be towed and such. They also started mounting cameras into the back seat so they could get those over-the shoulder shots when they're driving in later seasons. You'll also notice, in a much later season, they started using drones for some really cool exterior shots too and in those instances they are really driving.
  20. I just kind think it's cuter if Dean was working on this all on his own and waiting to unveil it until it was finished. I think he would've been just as excited to show Cass the finished product as he was to show Sam. Of course, I don't think the writers considered the logistics of this all, but I was just running down options to see if it was possible Dean did it on his own. And I think it is. The only thing that stumped me for a minute was the TV because Sam helped him load it in Baby, so you'd think he would've helped him unload it. But, Dean could've told him they'd do it later or something.
  21. Sorry, I did an edit...the Foosball table could've been assembled in the room. The jutebox, I don't know, I bet you could get one on a hand truck. I once moved a dryer by myself with a hand truck and a ramp.
  22. Now that I think about it, Dean must have taken the TV into the Fortress of Deanitude himself too because Sam clearly didn't help him put it in that room or he would've already seen it. So, maybe Dean has a hand truck or something in the garage he used to schlep all these things into and around the bunker? I too thought Cass just followed the sound of their voices on the TV. He seemed slightly confused as to what he'd just walked into, but that just could've been his confusion of seeing Sam and Dean as cartoons. ETA: The Foosball table could've been assembled in the room? I don't think they're very heavy--not like a pool table--but it would've been awkward for Dean to have moved a fully-assembled one in there himself.
  23. No worries, I actually changed Jack to Daphne and the more I think about it, that works for me. You know, I never really grew up with Scooby-Doo. I'm of the right age, but grew up in the middle of nowhere and TV options were very limited. I had seen a few episodes over the years at friends' houses, but it wasn't a staple by any means for me. My nieces really got into it when they were young, though, so I was reintroduced to the show through them as an adult. But, only the classic episodes, I don't know anything about Scrappy...hmm, maybe some research is needed? ;) I don't know, I know Sam and Dean were in pretty tight quarters in comparison, but I don't think any of my siblings could probably say what shows the others liked now that we're adults. We did watch some things together, but I couldn't tell you what cartoons my older brother liked and I doubt he could tell you what I liked either.
  24. I just realized I forgot to post my own list, but I had the similar problem of trying to find a Daphne and Shaggy--I like Jack as Shaggy, though, so I'm stealing it. Fred: Dean, of course, except Dean's plans are generally better than Fred's. Velma: Sam, for obvious nerd reasons. Shaggy: Jack, impressionable and even has a mop of hair that could be shaggy if styled differently. ;) Daphne: I dunno, none of the current crop work for me, but Crowley maybe? He was pretty interested in Dean... . Nah, Crowley was too much his own man to be Daphne. Oh, that works even better and opens up Jack to be Daphne, which also works to a certain degree!
  25. I do think, in this case, Dean did mean it as a sort of compliment since the joke was that it was a talking dog, likening Cass to Scooby who Dean loved and would take a bullet for. Which, in a way, Cass is very Scooby like: He's loyal and smart and gets into a lot of trouble unintentionally and many times is the smartest one in the room. However, there are certain phrases that can set someone's teeth on edge and it doesn't matter the spirit in which it was intended, it will always be seen as an insult. I have a few of those types of phrases myself, perhaps being called a dog is a similar thing for you? Here's a fun game: So, if the show is saying Cass is Scooby, who on Supernatural is Velma, Daphne, Fred and Shaggy?
