It's interesting, b/c The View -- and likely other posters -- predicted this after Julie's week-ago sign-off. They said it would be impossible for her to return to The Talk, because ... what is she going to say when they talk about women and their husbands? Or relationship issues? Or the #MeToo movement? That she had essentially lost all credibility on women's issues now. I never thought The View was a bastion of intellect, but they called that one.

Hey, JC -- I have a half-million dollars to donate. Please tell me about the charity you're giving yours to. I think it's called ... Level 6. [/recycled Zing!]

I didn't see this posted here, and it was news to me. Apparently, Tyler was an alternate for Big Brother OTT. Here he is with Morgan and Alex Willett: https://www.instagram.com/p/BlZsMYrBvuB/

Yeah, now I'm kind of rooting against him for grouping those former players together. I just watched all their original season intro videos -- Malcolm says he's going to hide his intelligence/where he went to school and work his social game as a strategy, Jay details exactly how bartending and real estate require similar skills to those needed to win Survivor, and Joe says ... "I think I could lie if I had to." (And Alec is only 24?! Wow, he looks a lot older in that picture, I think.)
-
Isn't this similar to Survivor? That comp beasts rarely win, because the game is decided on by the jury, and someone wearing the necklace doesn't mean much when you've been lounging in Ponderosa all day. At least Big Brother houseguests get to see comp wins. I'm trying to think of the last comp beast who wasn't really a strategic threat, won HoHs or deftly managed alliances. I can't think of one.

He might know "slide into DMs," but I think I'm more appalled that he doesn't know what "family man" means. (hint: it's not a single person who's close to his family) I also think it's funny that he's a social media manager (of the "top agency in the world for public health?" So ... the CDC?), but his Instagram bio only has the slightest, most obscure reference to the fact that he's on Survivor at all. Maybe it's not good for his social media brand?
-
Well, there's this, from the Media thread: http://www.tmz.com/2018/06/28/survivor-david-vs-goliath-contestant-jessica-peet-n-word-tweets-surface/ I also know she also went to Hearts of Reality (annual charity event/reality famewhore convention weekend in Orlando) both this year and in 2017. August 2017 would've been even before she got cast? Or right after? (this season was filmed in spring 2018, right?) Either way, that is some super-fandom/proactive famewhoring.

That's not what Kaycee said, though. She said, "because he's been loyal to Level 6" (or he's voted with Level 6). Her excuse was a positive one, not a negative one. On the show, JC has been a nasty bully with delusions of grandeur, who's super impressed by his own cleverness, yet is patently unaware of the huge alliance right under his nose. Yet, the other players continue to talk about him like he's a sweetheart. Tyler talked about protecting him last week. Kaycee said they can't nominate him this week. Every piece of evidence they show us is he's a vile human who can't be trusted, and Level 6 looks like morons for not only keeping him, but actively protecting him for all these Pollyanna reasons. If they're afraid he's going to go ballistic, why don't they say that -- to each other, to the diary room, to someone where the audience can hear. Otherwise, they look like idiots when he cackles behind their backs, which the show finds so endearing for some reason. I know that they really never let players go off on each other, but heck, even Victoria in BB16 got, "She hasn't done anything." How about something innocuous like, "JC can't win comps and he hasn't done anything" -- we can infer the "and he's the goatiest goat who ever goated" for ourselves. But by showing them saying, "Aww, he voted with us, we need to protect him" ... I just don't get it.
-
The reason they had all that filler time to waste on Nicole and Victor's engagement is that Kaycee said who she was nominating in the first five minutes of the show. I mean, she had another option (JC) that she could've considered (JC) but quickly dismissed (JC) because "he's been working with Level 6?" And this whole "Sam voted against the house?" You mean when Level 6 had the votes to do exactly what they wanted every single week? Why. Doesn't. JC. Even. Merit. Consideration. As. A. Nominee? I like Kaycee as a person more and more, but man, I wish Brett had won this HoH. Then they wouldn't have had to kill 15 minutes on former houseguests getting engaged. Or Angela's smell-o-vision. Or Yet Another Cute and Quirky JC Segment.

S20.E32: Live Evictions #10; Head of Household #11

I'm still not quite sure why this was bleeped at 9PM. It used no curse words, only slang, and the insult itself never called out anyone by name. There was no indecency (except in the imagined act) -- heck "dicking" is worse, as is "suck it." There was no real slander either, except by implication (they cut to Tyler, not Angela). I didn't think it was particularly nice, but this should've easily passed the censors, I think. "A steady diet of that Hilton Head" isn't indecent out of context -- it just makes no sense. I suppose they would've rather erred on the side of caution, but I'm not sure I love the precedent. This didn't air during the family hour. -

I get the feeling if Tyler would've said "I'm part of a four-person alliance called Level 6," we'd have seen it. The power app is okay, but "outing" Level 6 would show people in the jury house that it's not just random people they need to have a grudge against, it's an organized alliance. I have a feeling if anyone had "outed" Level 6, we'd have seen it. If they spring the existence of Level 6 on the jury on finale night, they may end up with a Dom/Wendell situation from Survivor (who was in control? that person does not get my vote). That's good for Kaycee and Brett, but probably not Tyler or Angela (who made moves and seemingly have more control in that alliance). -
I know she's friends with Adam Klein, which will endear her to many, I'm sure. Had a fawning post that he basically inspired her to love the game, and that his journey inspired her: https://www.instagram.com/p/BnVbD4rhZOZ/?taken-by=angelina_keeley

Why does JC thinking he has a final 2 deal with Tyler mean that Tyler thinks he has to keep him safe? If one of Tyler's allies nominates him, there's not a whole lot Tyler can do, right? As someone who needs JC off their screen ASAP, that segment just bugged me. And more importantly, why does CBS think "fun with JC's accent" warrants airtime? I'm actually warming to Kaycee now, and even Angela a little. Amazing what acting like a decent human without delusions of grandeur will do for a contestant's image. -

Derrick only won 6-3. Just feel compelled to remind CBS, who considers him the GOAT for some reason. Golly gee, a trained undercover cop beat a series of famewhores. Wow so challenge much impressive. -
JC: Tyler will do whatever I want! Tyler: I will do whatever the house wants. Get JC off my screen. It's gotten to the point where he even opens his mouth, and I'm like "shut up." I'm amazed the producers didn't have him claim that the emojis were his "big, dumb puppets," too.
-
I actually like Haleigh, but I really, really hope she goes home this week, for the sole reason that it isn't what JC wants. And that Scottie will come after him, because I need to see someone come after JC.

S20.E29: Live Eviction #9; Jury Battle Back; HOH #10
Eolivet replied to Lamb18's topic in Past Seasons
I was shocked -- like jaw dropped open shocked -- when Tyler straight-up told JC he wasn't targeting anyone before Hayleigh. It seemingly violated the Big Brother rules of "say yes to anything anyone else suggests and worry about the consequences later." And instead of that "sketching" JC out [/tm Fessy] and making him remotely suspicious that maybe his "final 2 deal" Tyler is closer with other people than with him, he goes to Brett with a continued focus on ... Angela and Kaycee. Hey JC, who's the shorter, dumb puppet now? -
Wow, that Veto comp was not nearly as interesting as they thought it was. How is all of level 6 not thinking about sub-alliances at this point? When "the other side" gets so decimated, they don't become enemies, they become numbers, if you want to make a move. I mean, is nobody in there thinking what happens if JC or Sam wins HoH (other than Tyler)? Or do they think they'll all take shots at each other instead? Level 6 is reminding me of the Friendship -- mindless moves to help "the herd" and nobody thinking about their own games except Tyler and maybe Brett. Somebody -- anybody -- please, make a move, take a shot, do something that shows me you're not all comfortable going out in fourth place. At least Paul had multiple options at this point in the game last year -- it wasn't nearly as cut-and-dried. They do realize only one of them can get the money, right? They can't split it four ways. I feel like that's passed Angela and Kaycee by.

JC is just a nasty soul. He does not have a modicum of charm the show thinks he does. I'd really like to see someone manipulate him for a change (or better yet, put him on the block. Why has he been immune thus far?) -

I'm sure he's thinking comp aptitude, but I think Sam would be the better option. You want loyal goats at that point, not someone who might stab you in the back. If Tyler knows Kaycee is an easy win, I guarantee JC knows the same thing. If that happens, I can see Tyler getting Vanessa'd, with JC playing the Steve role. At this point, I'm waiting until Tyler and Brett turn on each other. Renegades they are not, nor ... that moronic name Derrick had for his Cody alliance that I've totally forgotten. And while I know the show thinks we're all about level 6 ... I found it kind of in poor taste to intercut a "woo, level 6!" Kaycee confessional with Hayleigh crying to them about being personally hurt by someone she cared about, outside a game level. Like, let the moment breathe, editors. There are 41 other minutes for a "level 6, rah! rah!" confessional. That wasn't one of them. -
To All the Zings I've Loved Before (paraphrased): BB14: "Hey, Joe, how does it feel to be the old guy in the house? Oh, sorry, didn't see you there ... Boogie." BB15: "We have a ghost in the Big Brother house. It's pale and it floats. Oh wait, it's just ... Andy." BB16: "Hey, Frankie! That's a nice tan, but I'm amazed you get any sun at all with all the time you spend in ... your sister's shadow." "Hey, Cody! You're such a nice guy. You haven't made any enemies at all, except for maybe ... Christine's husband."
-
To me, Hayleigh's was the best. At least it was game-related and had a modicum of wit to it rather than "you're ugly, you're crazy, you're stupid" (points for Every child left behind, though). And it fits with @Lamb18's brilliant Othello retelling. Wow, they are ... not holding back with the political allusions this summer. Zing-a-Lago? Incriminating photos? Wow.

S20.E24: Head of Household #8 cont; Nominations #8
Eolivet replied to Lamb18's topic in Past Seasons
There have been a long line of houseguests who laugh at the stupidity of other players behind their backs. Heck, Dr. Will and Mike Boogie invented the "ring-ring?" "hello?" "guess who was stupid enough to believe us?" ::collapses into peals of laughter:: Paul did it last year, and I remember Dan doing a variation on it in BB14. I don't have a problem with "laugh at stupid game play behind people's backs" on its face -- that's sort of the nature of the game. My problem with JC and Angela (less so with Brett) is I feel like they purposely befriend people for the sole purpose of cutting them down and laughing at them. I mean, I truly believe that nobody went into the house thinking that Dr. Will and Mike Boogie were their friends. If they were stupid enough to believe Dr. Will and Mike Boogie in the game, that's on them. Even Paul last year had more of a disbelieving "wow, you believe me ... well ... okay" tone to his confessionals. But JC going out of his way to "befriend" Fessy when he thinks he's a stupid person and is easily manipulated and cackling about pulling the wool over his eyes feels personal and crossing a line. Angela doing the same thing to Bayleigh, where she made an effort to be extra nice for the sole purpose of stabbing her in the back and laughing about it ... I don't find that entertaining or quite frankly, good game play. I cut Brett a little more slack, because after Rockstar had gotten out the pots and pans to try to antagonize him, any overture he made to her was going to be full of crap. But I don't feel like he's gotten in Hayleigh's ear for the sole purpose of making her feel like a moron and cackling about it behind her back. Tyler is a master at playing hard without making it personal, so it's not like it's difficult. But when you go out of your way to cultivate a personal relationship with someone where your sole goal is not only to take them down, but to make them look as stupid as possible? Even if they are stupid? To me, enjoying that so much says more about JC and Angela's character than it does about Fessy and Bayleigh's intelligence. -

I think the secret is pretty much out. I mean, Rockstar called out Angela, Tyler and Kaycee as working together. Granted, she didn't have Brett, but she got three out of four. I'm going with "not so secret anymore." To me, the bigger secret is they don't know level 6 has Sam and JC in their pocket, or working towards their interests. Level 6 as a foursome loses quite a bit of power without the swing votes that truly make them "level 6." -

I realize that JC is playing a game, but I can't enjoy someone whose entire strategy seems to be "laugh at someone who you pretend to be friends with in the DR, behind his back." JC's George-and-Lenny relationship with Fessy is so confusing, because I have literally no idea what his end game is. The only thing I can hope for is he's either in for an epic blindside when level 6 turns on him, or Tyler turns on level 6 in favor of him and his epic goat-iness.
