  1. For more context in BabyGurlGate, head over to the couple's page and take a gander. There's more context for people's opinions there.
  2. Now that's some intriguing dirt...This woman's hair is longer than what we saw on Lana, but it could be extensions or she could've had a trim before meeting David.
  3. If they didn't know then, they sure as hell knew once Varya flew to the US. And if they'd done their due diligence they'd have found that the June charges weren't the only ones against him. He should've never been cast even if they hadn't known about the latest ones. Mary and Geoffrey went on their "date" 3 months after he returned from Russia. I don't know how much time passed between their "date" and Varya landing in the Knoxville. At any rate, at minimum there were four months (give or take) between when they first started filming him and when Varya flew over. At some point during that time they had to have found out, which means whether they flew Varya in and sponsored her or not their filming alone still makes them accountable for putting a woman in potential danger. TLC knew from before the first episode aired that Geoffrey had charges filed against him, that's why they didn't include his segments on "Pillow Talk" from E1. My question is why they didn't just pull his scenes altogether.
  4. I hate the way Darcey talks to her girls about men. The whole "I promise I'll find someone one day" and acting like it's a big letdown to all of humanity that she doesn't have a man in her life. She really does equate a proposal with livelihood and success. I grew up in a single parent household and my mom didn't date at ALL. She and Dad broke up when I was a baby and I've only known her as single. I'm 40. There were a few times, after I became an adult, when she'd say something like, "It would be nice to have someone to do things with" but she never once acted like because she was single she was somehow a failure in life.
  5. The way in which Lisa went from relieved to psycho in 3,2 was impressive. When she first started going off, I thought it was another case of some "fan" just commenting on a post with a heart.
  6. Frauded by TLC, which has had some pretty good insider info, is insisting that TLC bought Lana's workout clothes, iphone, etc. And that they scripted the whole Sephora outing. While I can buy that the shopping, gym, and cafe were scripted, I can't say that all of that was categorically fake. First of all, her form and muscles were too good for that to have been her first foray into the gym. Secondly, she no way in hell looked like the shut in that lives a bleak, poverty-stricken life without any friends. And let's say it WAS all a setup...as with every Tell All, the cast members know that it will be edited. When David was arguing with everyone else he could've just said that all of that was fake and he could've gone into detail about it. He knew none of that would air and he did NOT know that it would be leaked. And while he DID try to defend the storyline, all he said was, "That wasn't real."
  7. Tom's girlfriend, the one who's called Shannon, is already engaged to someone else and may be married by now.
  8. We've talked about his condition a lot on here. His height and lack of neck have nothing to do with how horrid of a person he is-using those things as a get out of jail free card is.
  9. And like the Asshole he is, he mostly just sits back and lets the women go at it. It's mostly one sided with Mary attacking Varya and, honestly, she seems crazier than him. It's a clusterfuck.
  10. I feel very strongly that they exchanged addresses before filming so that packages could be shipped to each other.
  11. Not real sure where they were raised but they both live in the same area now. He's the oldest, she's significantly younger, and she works in the music industry.
  12. Varya, Geoffrey, and Mary have been publicly fighting on Instagram for weeks. The comments have been enlightening. No way Geoffrey didn't know she was coming.
  13. Ha ha, yeah, we're generally lucky when it comes to red tape and traveling. Russia is a whole other bag of beans, though. It's become increasingly difficult for us to travel there and for them to travel here. And applying for a travel visa is no guarantee you'll get it. I waited for six months the last time I applied. My Russian friend applied for a travel visa a year ago to come here for two weeks on vacation. She's still waiting. No criminal history.
  14. I think the reason I'm letting her off the hook for now (other than the fact that I like her) is because I don't trust that it's real. There are too many variables here...Can we trust Geoffrey when he says that he hasn't been responding to her? Can we trust that this wasn't just a whole setup by TLC (who undoubtedly sponsored her to be there)? If we ARE taking it at face value, though, then for me it reeks more of desperation than stalking. David's situation was one thing: she stood him up every single time, she never gave him any alternative or private way of contacting her, he got "her" address from sleuthing and not because she volunteered it, and they had zero relationship outside of a paid website. In Geoffrey/Varya's case, though, they had a physical relationship (not necessarily sexual, just as opposed to online), they'd provided each other with addresses and phone numbers, etc. All we have is Geoffrey's word that he hasn't been responding to her messages. IMO intention matters. David was seeking Lana because he'd paid for her and deserved her whether she liked it or not. He was going after her because SHE screwed up and he demanded retribution. Varya, on the other hand, is seeking out Geoffrey because she thinks SHE screwed up. I have a hard time taking any of this storyline seriously enough to have a real conversation about it. TLC clearly underestimated how viewers would react to his past so they invested money, time, and a script into a storyline that was never going to go anywhere to start with.
  15. I tweeted "Okay who's gonna volunteer to take one for the team and go on a date with him? We'll do a GFM to set up some aftercare therapy for you." Someone tweeted back, "I feel like you're asking us to volunteer as tribute for the Hunger Games..." Honestly, I would rather take my chances with the bow and arrow.
  16. It's also REALLY hard for Russians to get tourist visas and, when they do, it can take months. I think Sharp brought her over on a temporary work visa. We used to bring Russian workers over here on them all the time when I worked at the resort. They're inexpensive for a company like that, incredibly easy to get, and the whole thing can be processed in a few weeks. You can get one that's only good for a short amount of time, it's not a permanent one that allows them to stay here for good.
  17. I may not have known what those particular words meant, because language changes, but dirty song lyrics have been around since, well, forever. There are Irish folk songs whose lyrics are just as dirty as what we hear anywhere else.
  18. So not only did TLC film Geoffrey while knowing his past, but they encouraged a woman to travel to be with him?
  19. I really don't want to know about Geoffrey's skidmarks...
  20. Ha ha, I fully support your snark but this actually happened to me. Broke up with fiance and started dating someone else. Decided to host this big American Thanksgiving dinner for my new friends in Wales. Fourteen of us just sitting down to dinner and all of the sudden my ex walked through the door with rolls. He'd traveled 18 hours to surprise me. I didn't stop drinking for 3 days straight.
  21. So Lana is either horribly selfish or a scammer. Either way, I'm still rooting for her.
  22. Oh yeah David, Lana looks super shy and poor...
