  1. All Stan and Dorothy interactions are priceless. ---------- Dorothy wants to call a doctor for Sophia: Dorothy: Ma, you don't look good. Sophia: I'm short and I'm old. What did you expect, Lady Di? ….Later, the doctor is there and Sophia tells Dorothy to fix him a plate of the dinner she had cooked: Dorothy: Not now, Ma, I'll do it later. Sophia: Later I'll be dead, I won't know if he liked it! ----------------------------------------------- Blanche spends two hours getting ready for her date. Blanche's date: Wow, you look gorgeous. Blanche: Why, I didn't even have time to put my make up on! Dorothy's eyes roll back so hard she almost falls off the couch.
  2. LOL I love it when common societal norms take a back seat to our favorite trashy TV shows.
  3. Totally agree, but I have to say I still like her...seriously. I think there's something sweet about her and I think she honestly wants to make her ridiculous and effed-up relationship with Dumbass Clint work. The WORST are easily both Scott and Lizzie, but I will take it to the new thread!
  4. I especially like the fact that he can't seem to remember his own daughter's name. OH, Michael. Marcelino talking about how his apartment complex doesn't allow felons, that raises an issue some of these people have not given a lot of thought to, probably. It isn't that easy for former felons to find jobs and housing. It's unfair, yes, but it's also reality. I am thinking that the non-con person would have to have everything in their name. This show really highlights how brutally difficult we make it for people to reintegrate. I mean, you can almost understand these women and men wanting to find someone to latch onto who will provide housing, financial support and the rest. I am thinking about the two people I know personally who went to prison and were able to make successes of their lives. In both cases, they had family members who supported them initially with housing and financial help, and also gave them great emotional support. One of them was actually turned into the police by her own mother, who was my friend. She said it was the hardest thing she ever did in her life but that she had to do it even if her daughter never forgave her. Her daughter swore she would never speak to her again, but prison turned out to be a lifesaver. It turned her life around, and she forgave her mother, lived with her after she got out of prison and is now happily married with children. The other one somehow got through my former company's background check and had an enormously successful career there. He used his time in prison to go to school, learn skills, become involved in religion and other things that he credits with turning it around. So I know it can be done, but I don't think it can be done alone.
  5. Thank you, Kangatush! It looks like a cute neighborhood joint. Question, were they going to hold the ceremony there or just pop in for a prenuptial drink? Caitlyn hates drugs and needs somebody she can depend on, so she picks a multiple felon and not-recovered drug addict. Call me crazy, but I persist in liking Tracie. I think those two crazy kids can make it.
  6. Correction, I meant a "selective virgin" like Lizzie, not Tracie. I am having a hard time keeping my lady cons straight.
  7. The previews for the next episode were the best part.
  8. It makes as much as sense as anything else Weirdo Megan does...the girl is just all wrong. And I agree with whoever said that she's no virgin. Maybe she's a born-again "selective virgin" like Tracie. God yes, you AND me! I want to take it out and marry it sight unseen!!! BUT I still demand longer episodes, and an update on Tony and Angela.
  9. I feel like so little happened this episode! But it was nice to meet Amanda. I like her much better than I like Marcelino.
  10. I've heard of that happening here too, though. A girl I worked with had a hubby who went to prison and after his release, he was required to live in a halfway house for six months. It also happened to someone I knew who got arrested for a DUI, it was like her third (I know, right?) and part of the condition of her release was to do time in a halfway house. Shoot, I had ONE brush with the law and that was enough to scare me into the straightest nerd that ever lived.
  11. Granted, our prisons do a terrible job of rehabilitating people, BUT they do offer help and opportunities for people who are sincerely interested in changing their lives. Prisoners can take classes, get help for their addictions (I know, addiction is incredibly difficult to treat and it requires ongoing support on the outside, too), go to college, learn skills, get counseling... I know there are crappy prisons where the inmates are treated badly and don't have access to any of that, but it doesn't sound like Matt was in one of those. It sounds like he could have availed himself of help and didn't choose to. He appears to come from a solid and loving background, too, so clearly he could have support there if he really wanted to change his life. His mother would jump up and down to help if he said he sincerely wanted to change. He doesn't want to, period.
  12. I totally agree, and it's clear that she really wants to get together with her ex-lover. I hope she does and dumps Marcelino flat...I didn't catch her former prison friend's name, but it struck me that both of them are incredibly perceptive, self-aware and intelligent women, which is probably why they became friends. Their relationship seems completely grounded in reality and it's clear that they both are able to see how dangerous Marcelino is. I officially love them both. Is it weird that I find myself not totally hating Clint's "goddess??" She strikes me as being very aware that she's found a very soft landing spot with old Clint, and is prepared to be nice to him/have sex with him/make him happy just to hold onto a place to live, someone to be nice to her and a little cash. She is a user, but I bet she would make Clint happy even if she was just using him. She seems to have a genuine semi-fondness for him and a willingness to make their ridiculous relationship work. She even said that she needed to get a job, which is more than Matt can say! I was thinking the same thing. He has zero interest in doing anything that's societally acceptable and will be back inside very quickly. His mom knows it, too.
  13. Laughing while I'm shaking my head in despair. I really hope Brittany leaves, just leaves his ass in the dust and goes anywhere.
  14. This is spot on. It's actually why people who have been in prison and set their minds to improving their lot in life can be extremely successful. The problem is that we don't have much of a support system for people transitioning from jail/prison back to society. They have a hard time getting jobs, places to live and all the rest. But with the right family support, they can really make it work. In Brittany's case, I am guessing that at some point she has to check in with a p.o. and report on her progress in those areas. She has to check in with somebody, I am thinking. I don't recall what they said about her immediate family but perhaps that's another resource for her. Also, what about a halfway house? I know they don't have the best reputation but surely it would be better than THIS. At least if they were shooting porn, they would be paid better, not to mention contributing much more to society.
  15. Yeah, she said that Marcellino was the only one who was thrilled about it. You could tell she hated it. I like that she didn't feel one ounce of compulsion to put it on, either. LOL He just steamrolled over all of her wishes. She didn't want to walk through a crowded casino in her ugly, dirty prison clothes and kept begging him to be able to go up and change. She asked to take a shower, she tried to eat her food--none of it was allowed because it interfered with what he wanted. That was real classy.
  16. For one brief, shining moment, I had a shred of tattered hope to hang onto, when Caitlin said she wouldn't marry Meth Man until he proved that he could straighten himself out, stay out of jail and get a job. Of course, this was quickly followed by Methy's stated refusal to work a job he "doesn't like" and Caitlin's acceptance of a swamp weed for an engagement ring. Yup, and he also said that he'll "thrive" either way, whether he's in jail or out. I agree! It was a disaster and they did a great job with her makeover. They actually made her look human. The worst part was that hideous dress and that was all on Clint.
  17. He's older than her, and so....entitled to her respect? I am guessing. Yes, but I'm making up for the lost calories in alcohol.
  18. Yes, this is when you hand him cash or a prepaid card, Mom. But she's been weirdly enabling about this whole thing from the start. Wait until she meets the beneficiary of all her generosity.
  19. You speak truth. In my family, taking someone's spouse is more forgivable than taking someone's food. As hookedontv noted, it sure didn't take him long to show his true colors. Brittany wins the prize for most intelligent and perceptive person on this program, con or non-con. RUN, BRITTANY! Your instincts are right on, the due is a controlling twerp and you can do better. She's also the one who cleans up the best, I must say, she looked really nice when she got to have a real shower and dress up a little. Haven't we all suffered enough? No, we were at least spared that.
  20. I thought nothing could match the horror of that opening scene of Meth Head and Caitlin getting close to nature, and I am certain the poor traumatized forest creatures had to conduct a cleansing ceremony that involved smoked sage and burning of the earth, but in the very next scene we encounter Clint and his Shrek Beast. EGAD.
  21. I agree with whoever posted that Jasmine and Scott's son should escape their "dumpster fire parents" together. Just GO, kids. Anything is better than this.
  22. I have stopped feeling sorry for Scott because he had so many people warning him against getting involved with her. He even had some questions himself, wondering at one point if he wasn't just her "biggest trick." Yeah, you are probably the only one who bought a house for her and allowed her to demand a pool and an extra bedroom so she wouldn't have to have sex with you. But she will dump you the minute she finds an even bigger fool. He says he wants someone to love him, but if that were true, he wouldn't be looking up incarcerated women. He'd be trying to find a nice, normal woman who would appreciate what he has to offer. LOL me too!!
  23. I'm pretty sure it is Alabama. I was going to say, way to bust those stereotypes, but if this show has proven anything it's that stupidity and gullibility know no geographic bounds.
  24. n which Oh good God, I hope this was before the last-minute "don't come" plan. Megan, GO HOME. Forget this guy. The best thing she could do is eat the cost of her trip and never speak to him again. Seriously, just get out. Oh, me too, and the guy who's cheating on his 91-year-old girlfriend with a 68-year-old. Mr. Marsupial is younger than me and he needs to know that I can still trade his young ass in when I'm 91. I didn't think anything could fill the void left by Rock of Love, but these two shows are really stepping up to the plate.
  25. Agree with all these comments. He was all lovey-dovey in his creepy way and she just wanted to enjoy her freedom and the fresh air after so many years behind bars. Also, I really hated how he just dismissed her probation rules and tossed them into the trunk with some comment about "having fun." Dude, she just got out of prison. If you really gave a rat's ass about her, you would help her do whatever it takes to stay out.
