  1. Yes. I think that's the perfect trajectory of her life. She just doesn't seem to have an ounce of self-agency. But they have a wedding coming up!
  2. I KNOW! Why is this show not two hours long??? WHERE are Angela and Tony??? And I am thinking the three-way prison baby mama show is NOT over. No, not this easily. Megan: Take this as a SIGN from a loving God. Get back home, cut off all contact with that two-timing loser and write this off as a hard-earned lesson. Telling you not to show up was the best thing this guy ever did or ever will do for you. Yeah, no wonder Clint is such a useless man-child. There's being "supportive" and there's being an enabler of your idiot son's idiot ideas. Best line of the show: Mrs. Michael's Baby Mama saying that she could not imagine anyone who could be a better father for her daughter. Girl, please expand your imagination a little. At this point, Toothless Meth Freak or Clint are probably better options than him. Marcellino: You are a creepy control freak and your prison squeeze doesn't like you. Scott: You are a useless, sad sack of a nutless wonder and your prison bitch doesn't like you.
  3. myka92, what you posted is what I thought, that if the person leaving prison doesn't have someone picking them up, they are taken to the closest Greyhound station and put on a bus. Don't they also get a small amount of cash? That's why I agree, they obviously left something out of that scene. This is what I ask myself every time I watch Jerry Springer. It's always two reasonably attractive to incredibly hot women (with jobs and lives) fighting over some scrawny, jobless, toothless, slack-jawed lump.
  4. Agree on both these points. I think the appeal of a prison romance is in the idea that they are star-crossed lovers, separated by a cruel fate, with prison walls keeping their love from its true fruition. It's the Romeo and Juliet effect. It's the same thing that can make some long-distance relationships last. I'm sure there's also an element of being "the only one" that truly "understands" the poor misunderstood criminal. Also, that desire to marry immediately has to be part of it. They want this person to stay locked up and locked down, that's just how they like it. Freedom means their beloved may actually start looking around at what else is out there. But once reality intrudes, it intrudes big time. And yes, as stupid as I think Caitlyn is (and all these characters, really, are), I also feel incredibly sorry for her. She has pinned her entire life on a violent, multiple felon who is already mean and controlling to her. I actually liked his little speech about giving up sex and lust so that he could focus on deeper connections. I thought that was really a self-aware and great move. But THEN he decides that he's going to have this "deep connection" with a six-time or whatever druggy, felon, prison cutie? OK, buddy, sure. I liked his friend. Like the other friends, he appears levelheaded and properly skeptical. I DEMAND more Tony and Angela!!! She is sooooo delusional...She and Scott need to meet up, commiserate and hang out together. Maybe they're delaying it because Tony got out, took one look at his blushing bride and booked for the hills as fast as his little felonious legs could carry him. I think Tony has many, many women on the hook sending him money and is biding his time to see which one is the sweetest sugar mama. Angela probably doesn't make enough moolah for him.
  5. OMG I had not thought of this but yes, it makes total sense. Also makes it easier to believe she'd think a meth head with multiple arrests is a fine mate for life. LOL too funny...yet sadly true... It's pretty obvious that Lizzie does not give a flying hoot about anyone, including her daughter. She has a child who keeps trying to have a relationship with her despite everything she's done, something that most people would treasure, and she doesn't value it at all. Scott and Jazzmin BOTH need to dump her sorry ass, stat. OH absolutely...isn't she already on her sixth arrest? And she's had multiple violations of prison rules. She's destined to be a lifer.
  6. Until you and this show consummate your love in a prison trailer, you don't know what true romance is.
  7. WOW I am so glad there are other people who take the same twisted delight that I do in this show. Jazzmine (spelling!) is a beautiful young woman. She also is far more level-headed, skeptical and intelligent than anyone else on this show. I like the way EVERY person on this show has someone who is telling them they're off their rocker, it's what a true friend should do, because they are...OTOH, what happened to Scotts friend? The female friend who told him over and over that Lizzie was no good...looks like maybe she gave up on him, which is understandable. She warned him over and over about Lizzie and he didn't want any interference in his stupid, self-destructive fantasy. I wanted to see more of...is her name Robin? The woman marrying the younger guy? That mess is guaranteed to be a total shitshow. Agreed,,,she was very smart and very attractive and seemed well put together, both mentally and physically. It could be that they married young, and she grew and improved herself in the marriage while he stayed stuck. That could be the reason they divorced. At any rate, it's pretty clear that she can do much, much better.
  8. OMG Ghotish520, did we have the same boss??! Mine was actually just divorced (he said because of her infidelity, but I suspect he got there first) and took that as license to bang everything that moved. Here's the Louis CK clip:
  9. Louis CK has a whole spiel about how he gets so tired of the way it's all sex all the time for men and how nice it would be to just have a normal, straight-up interaction with a woman that isn't all muddled with sex in the man's mind. It's quite funny. He also mentions that even the most "sex-crazed" women you will ever meet can't come close to a man's obsession with it.- I work in a mostly-male office in a mostly-male industry and have to say that I agree! Yes, this absolutely. If she wasn't happy with the pace at which he was moving or his level of commitment, she had every right to walk from the relationship, and was right to do so. The problem was, she kept going back to him knowing that he still wasn't at her level of intensity or commitment. That isn't his fault.
  10. That whole disaster wedding was really funny. I loved Harry's line that Miranda probably got them to their golden anniversary LOL. I have also been watching the marathon all weekend. For all its flaws, and they are many, this is a damn entertaining show with some moments of amazing humor and poignancy that still get me, all these years and all these repeated viewings later. jenrising, agree with you about Kim Cattrall. She is a much better actress than the material she was working with, and what they did to her character in the movies was just appalling.
  11. I think Delia will lie and say the test was negative, then have the abortion in secret. I agree that she is stunning, and love her unalduterated, unaltered look. Still enjoying this show for what it is, it is amusing and pretty to look at, but I hate the way the writers want us to believe that women in this age group have attractive, successful, wealthy men lining up to sleep with them and fall in love with them. Bullshit. Women over 40 are invisible, especially in a place like Hollywood. Bilgistic, so sorry for your loss. I have been there and I send many furry prayers and hugs.
  12. It's always the right time for a St. Olaf story! Rose: We had a lady like that in St. Olaf. We called her Mean Old Lady Hickenlooper. Blanche: Kids can be so cruel. Rose; No that was her name. Mean Old Lady Hickenlooper. She said everybody called her that, so she had it legally changed. Blanche: Why isn't yours Big Dummy? Rose; There were already three people with that name in town.
  13. Stan, breezing into the house: You girls really shouldn't leave your doors unlocked. Any idiot could walk in. Sophia: Any idiot just did.
  14. That was one fine Santa and one fine beard indeed. Agreed about all the snow LOL. Also, has there been a snowball fight in every single one of these movies?
  15. Yes, but it was definitely more pronounced in this movie. I normally LOVE her but even so, I found her a little too much in this one. Crown for Christmas: Yay, I finally watched this and really enjoyed it, it certainly lived up to the rave reviews here. I normally don't love the actress who was in it, but she really grew on me in this story. I ended up very charmed by everyone. Theodora was a delight, the King was just what a king should be, and the little love story with the two people who worked for the King was a sweet touch. Christmas Land: I loved this one and I want to go live in Christmas Land! The setting reminded me of Colorado, where I have family, but I don't recall where it was supposedly set. The hottie lawyer in it was nice, too, I thought he did an excellent acting job and the romance, although a little rushed, still had a nice natural feel to it. The Bad Boyfriend was great in his bad-guy role and also gorgeous with those big blue eyes. Hallmark is killing me with these good-looking men.
  16. Just watched Christmas, Inc. and I really enjoyed it, mostly because I loved Riley's nutty dad SO MUCH!! I loved his goofy workshop, his steel-trap mind, his relationship with Mrs. Riley's Dad. The story was cute, the leading man was a steaming hunka hunka, and it delivered the best line of the season yet. YEAH! Perfect description! It definitely had higher production levels as befits the "Hall of Fame" legacy. HHOF has created some great classic movies. THANK YOU for posting the schedule!!! I join twoods in wanting to see Roslyn Sanchez in a Hallmark movie. I've loved her since Devious Maids.
  17. Christmas in Evergreen: I enjoyed it only because I actually found Ashley Williams very appealing, and she had great chemistry with both her leads. But I agree, the DC boyfriend was handsome, sweet, and seemed really sweet on her. I guess the idea is that you can't make it work and have to let go sometimes, even if you love each other, but that's a rather dark theme for this type of movie and I can't believe the boyfriend would just be like, "Oh, well, OK then, see you around." Huh? Hey, Ashley, I'll take him! Totally agree with this, although I hand-waved it as being a "magical" neighborhood of the city, where everyone was sweet and friendly and there were like two people in the hospital. There actually are small-towny neighborhoods like this in cities, but this was one was certainly touched with a little pixie dust. Christmas Train: Good acting all around, and trains are like chocolate to me, so I loved having the whole thing set on one-- I never rode the "Christmas Train" but I was on a train on Christmas Day once and it was fun. I guessed the "twist" ending before it came, and I am usually not one to ever figure those things out, so it wasn't really a surprise but I still enjoyed it. Dermot Mulroney is aging nicely and it's always good to see Joan Cusack. Christmas at Holly Lodge: This was OK, I am getting tired of all the cute kids and would rather have some more cute animals, but I know that's an unreasonable request for this genre/channel so I will zip it. I keep hearing how great "Bramble Lodge" and "Crown for Christmas" are, am going to see if I can dig them up on demand, or maybe Halllmark will run them again?
  18. I am a glutton for Christmas movies so I am thoroughly enjoying (that is to say completely bingeing) on the Countdown to Christmas! They're a mixed lot but overall a very nice, happy distraction. ACK me too. Also I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I didn't like the male lead in that one either. I got zero chemistry between the two of them. But the story was cute. Was happy to see a rerun of "Christmas Under Wraps," one of my favorites. I like this one and "A Gift to Remember" the best so far, largely because they have really appealing secondary characters. In too many of these, the supporting characters get short shrift and zero storyline. In "Gift to Remember" they were really nicely drawn, and two even had their own little romance subplot. I also liked the way the relationship in "Gift" was developed, it really worked. I loved it! Hear, hear ramble. I am delighted to have a source of happy, goofy lighthearted fare, especially at this time of year. On a personal note, my best friend was widowed this year after 30 years of marriage, and the other day, she told me that the only thing that lifts her saddest moments is watching a light, goofy, comedy with a guaranteed happy ending, the kind of thing she never watched or enjoyed much before. I think we all reach a point at certain times when we need a little lifting up, and there's nothing wrong with that. Other movies -- I thought Candice Cameron was actually cute in "Switched at Christmas," but the true star of that show was Happy the Dog...Happy the Dog and his fellow rescue buddy Happy the Cat are featured in the Yule Log this year, so that's a bonus!! http://heavy.com/entertainment/2017/11/switched-for-christmas-dog-happy-photos-hallmark/
  19. Some people hate that about Dunne, but I'm with you, I LOVE it! His books about murder and mayhem among the well-heeled are terrific. Dunne, of course, also spoke from personal experience as his daughter was a murder victim.
  20. Sweet-tea, the BBC did an excellent documentary that covered both sides very well, it's available on YouTube: Especially since, in this case, the prosecution did an excellent job. When both sides are strong, it's more interesting to watch, so it would in fact have made for better TV, but the producers of this show seem determined to make it "Brave Little Leslie and Her Misunderstood Sweater Boys."
  21. I can't recall any crime victims whose reputations were as thoroughly and disgustingly maligned as Jose' and Kitty Menendez. I think, in reality, Jose' was a class-A jerk with no idea how to control his kids, and Kitty was clearly a pitiful victim of his emotional abuse,. But I honestly can't think of any case where the defense went to such evil, horrific lengths to trash the victims. I never bought the abuse stuff, not then, not now, and I'm a little shocked at how blatantly one-sided this show has been. It's like Kitty and Jose' get to keep getting murdered over and over again. I also agree with other posters that said it's a little too much" all Leslie, all the time." Edie Falco is doing an amazing acting job, as always, so I don't fault her, but I'm just getting sick of seeing Leslie all the time, not to mention the smirking Menendez "boys" and their scenery-chewing testimony. Dunne's reporting on the case (which I remember avidly reading during the trial) was great, the story was right in his wheelhouse. RIP Dominick.
  22. You should check out her You Tube channel, the Super Collies, there are a ton of wonderful videos of her and the dogs. Apparently she and Hero are members of Stunt Dog Promotions, one of several career jumps she got after appearing on the David Letterman show. They also have a dog food sponsor, I forget the name. Their appearance on AGT will only open up more doors, and I am so happy for her and her pups. Similarly, I wish a good career in TV or stand-up for Preacher, who I found appealing and enjoyable even when he wasn't being technically "funny." His delivery and charm outstrip his jokes, but maybe with some maturity in his career (and life) the jokes will catch up. My Tuesday nights are going to be so empty now! Good thing "This is Us" is coming back!
  23. Me too!!! You can really get a feel for how awe-inspiring Sara's training is by watching some of those pre-AGT clips on her Super Collies channel. I showed a friend of mine the clip that shows Hero going grocery shopping and we both agreed that if she had done that on AGT, she might have been in the number 2 spot! (Nobody was going to beat Darci). It's here People who don't like/appreciate Sara and her dogs might not realize just how difficult dog training is, and how amazing it is that Sara has done it all with only positive reinforcement, allowing her dogs to be natural dogs. As an example, she said in one interview that it takes Hero about 4-5 months to learn a new trick, which is considered incredibly fast in dog-training world, some dogs take up to a year to learn a trick well enough to perform it in public (border collies are the super geniuses of the dog world, but Hero is obviously a superstar even among his breed). That said, she's already gotten sponsorships and such, so I'm sure this exposure will lead to more great things for them. Agree with the poster above who said that Darci Lynne totally held her own with Dunham and Fator. Yes, she will grow up to be beautiful, and it's clear she has a levelheaded, grounded family to support her. All of this bodes well for her future as a headlining, famous act. She deserves it. I didn't like Angelica, but I have to say she touched my heart in this episode. She was so alone, where was her family?! Also, I was a "huggy" little girl like her when I was her age, so her running around giving and needing hugs made me a little teary-eyed. I saw a segment where Sara had Hero hug somebody and I hope Angelica got a hug from Hero too.
  24. It may have marketed itself that way, but I wouldn't take a child there. I used to go to Vegas a lot and there's really nothing for children to do there. The whole vibe is extremely adult-oriented.
  25. I completely agree, atlantaloves. While I think that Darci was a deserving winner, she is definitely an exception to my "kids shouldn't even be in this" rule. Why isn't there a separate show for just kids? Spanish-language TV has a separate "The Voice' just for kids and another kids-only talent show. Also, it's a cliche' that kids grow up too fast, but I think that's nowhere more true than in terms of a showbiz career. It's a horrible career to want to push your 9, 10 or even 12 year old child into. Let them enjoy a normal childhood before subjecting them to that. Their talent won't go away because you let them mature for a few years, if anything it will deepen with maturity. To the show itself, bits I loved and didn't -- I think Tyra Banks is a great host for the show, she's gorgeous and has an amazing ease with the performers, and I LOVED the skit with the AGT rejects. Hello Dancing Pumpkin Man, and Carlo the singing taxi driver!!! Shania Twain looked and sounded weird, and what were the dancers in shorts about? I hated her dress, but I covet her sparkly boots. Loved the dog-training bit with Sara and the judge's dogs, and the comedy bit with Howie, Kevin Nealon and Preacher. HATED the stuff with Chase, Evie and James Arthur. The No-Talent Trio.
