  1. He'd probably be dead just from taking the shots Jones took from his current SF teammates... The Bosa one was stupid, but the Hargraves one was a good example of what's been going on all year. Hargraves just runs through the blocking and hits Jones before he even has a chance to plant his foot and throw.
  2. Sure! First, I kind of lumped together introversion with shyness, which for that quick answer was fine. But they're different things. A shy person most likely is fearful of social situations whereas an introvert just doesn't like spending a lot of time with other people (specifically people that are not close friends.) So a bowling date would be very difficult for a shy person. Their social anxiety means they don't like it when people are watching them do things. They have fear of being embarrassed. They have fear of situations where they might be judged negatively. It's hard enough for somebody with social anxiety to go on a date in a nice quiet place, let alone adding in an activity where embarrassing yourself is virtually guaranteed unless you're great at it. At least with an extrovert on hand, they could do a really good job at drawing all the attention toward them and simultaneously making the shy person more comfortable by feeling nobody is watching them while the life of the party is over there making a ruckus. As for introverts, while they might not have social anxiety, what they do have is a very active inner monologue and a natural ability to be really good listeners, preferring to provide feedback than to lead conversations. If you put two of them on an activity date, like bowling, it's a pretty safe bet that the two of them are going to be concentrating on bowling, and having a nice long conversation in their head about all things bowling. They'd be better off sitting across from each other at a table where one could ask a question, the other could thoughtfully answer the question, and let the back and forth build off of that. If you put an extrovert in with the introvert on a bowling date, the extrovert will have the mouth going enough that the introvert will have a chance to do what they do best which is to listen and then chime in with their own thoughts. If nobody's mouth is running, then there's no chance to chime in. ETA: And this is all just my thoughts on getting to know each other dates. Once two introverts have built a bond, they'd probably have a REALLY good time bowling. They'd be in their own little bubble where they're comfortable with each other, and they could totally look around at the other people in the alley and make up stories about them. It would be an ideal date. Not sure if the shy people would ever be completely content bowling, even if they're a happy couple together.
  3. There's nothing wrong with a match between to introverts. They just need more time to get to know each other, and then you could end up with a VERY strong bond. This is the kind of relationship that is built from people who work together, are in a club or activity together, or other scenario where they're both comfortable in their surroundings and their personalities come out. Introverts are VERY unlikely to get together at a bar or at a meet-up or any other kind of forced mingling. We hate that shit. Introverts, shy people, can do just fine on one-on-one dates even with another shy person, but probably not on an "activity" date. Let them sit down together over a meal or something and go ahead and have a conversation exploring each other's interests. If you want to go on a bowling date (while you are still getting to know each other), at least one person needs to be an extrovert. Yes, if a woman is Flirty McGee with him, it's the equivalent of showing up at the DMV with 14 different forms filled out and the clerk looks it all over and says, "Looks like everything is in order here. Here is your license to drive." Who wouldn't like that?
  4. That was on my mind as well. Like I said, that facemask during the first drive was ABSOLUTEY intentional. I've seen enough Dallas games the last two years to notice that their defense does that stuff frequently. They go helmet to helmet early in the game and just absorb the penalty. They hit sliding quarterbacks. There was one play in this game where the DBs tackled McCaffrey along the sidelines and as he hit the ground with two Dallas DBs making the tackle, a 340 pound Dallas DT dove on top of him with all his weight. They're a shit team. I'm glad they got their ass handed to them last night.
  5. The Cowboys defense takes A LOT of cheap shots. That face mask penalty on McCaffery was ridiculous. He should have been tossed for that play.
  6. The Giants very well may be joining you. I said on a Giants fan site that the folks wanting a new quarterback don't have to worry because the team will need to move on from Jones at the end of the season because he'll be dead. He was on pace to be sacked 96 times this season. So they'll just eat the dead money for the dead player next year and pick somebody else. With the 6th sack today, which by the way INCREASES the amount of sacks he's on pace to absorb, their second year offensive lineman Josh Ezudu filling in for 2nd team All-Pro Andrew Thomas at left tackle just let a Dolphin player run right by him and actually almost kill Jones. I was only joking, but that was a little too close to being real. Jones left with a neck injury, which by the way, he has already had a season ending neck injury once in his career. This is scary for him if it's any kind of serious. He says he's in pain, but he also says he's okay. They'll have an MRI tomorrow. Seriously, what the hell kind of blocking is this? And this same lineman committed back to back false start penalties on a drive earlier in the game and then had a holding call in the same drive (which was declined, but still.) https://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=38605691
  7. The NFL is an interesting league. There really isn't a lot that separates most teams. A couple good plays and/or a couple of mistakes by the other team and the winless Bears can win comfortably against a team that just last week took one of the best teams in the league to OT. On the other hand, Washington's 2-2 record coming into this game had tight wins over Arizona and Denver and a blowout loss to Buffalo to go with that close loss. So they're nothing to write home about, and the Bears did a good job not shooting themselves in the foot last night.

Not sure if ESPN+ will carry the playoff games. There is very likely no way to legally stream any FOX games without already having access to the games through some sort of Satellite/Cable/Pay TV Streaming-bundle service. I mean, FOX will be broadcast over the air from the local affiliate, so you could always put an antenna on a TV if you're in the ballpark of getting decent reception. Best bet for reducing the amount of cost one incurs from Cable or Satellite TV would be to drop their TV service and find a Sling or YouTube TV or Hulu package that has the desired channels to replace it. There will be no equipment charges and it should be significantly less expensive if you are able to go with a slimmed down channel lineup.
  9. I bought those in the 75%-off bin in June at Lowe's. They weren't exactly high quality roots; like one of the bags seemed to be mostly powder with something that might have been a wisp of a tuber. And that's probably why it wasn't until October that it finally cranked out three really nice flowers. As they're in a pot, it will be easy for me to store them up over the winter and probably have much healthier plants next year.
  10. I don’t hate the uniforms tonight. This is a team that needs a new name and a brand refresh anyway. Whatever they’re called and wearing this year is hopefully going to be fixed going forward. I do love that they are getting whooped by the Bears so far in the first half. (Should be even more. That was absolutely pass interference in the end zone.)
  11. Wow, "an earth-friendly alternative to human composting". This should be interesting.
  12. This last hurrah of warm weather let this dahlia throw off a couple of VERY late blooms for me.
  13. Ooh. Good for them; I hope that one works out. I've watched a couple interviews with her because she's in some of the Marvel stuff I watch. I find her to be very likeable and bright. And Allen seems like he is also pretty darn likeable whenever I hear him interviewed or when he was playing golf on "The Match". They would have very tall, very good looking kids. Heh.
  14. Basketball players are tall. I didn't do as well as I did last week guessing which ones were real, but I nailed the final one. I guess it wouldn't have mattered if she had gone for just two choices or 1 out of 5, as the one they immediately dismissed as real, was the fake one.
  15. Well, it's Heinz ketchup mixed with Heinz mayo. We know which one is the guilty party in this product.
  16. Interesting week for my survival pool. Pretty much everybody is taking either the Detroit or Miami, with a collection of Washington picks rounding out the remaining survivors. I already used up Washington. I should probably just go with the crowd and take the obvious Lions pick. But I'm feeling like going off the reservation this week and doing something like taking the Jets over the Broncos. Fortunately, I still have time to NOT do that. 17. It could be my well water, but I get distinctly different results with tide for my laundry and cascade for my dishes than I do with the off brand detergents. I just suck it up, wait for sales and coupons.
  18. You're not kidding. I was concerned this was going to be like Netflix's Making a Murderer, where the ending was "I don't know. YOU figure it out."
  19. I do have a jar of store brand mayonnaise in the fridge, like $3 cheaper than the good stuff, for uses such as grilled cheese and for when I mix in some chipotle pepper for spicy may purposes. That mayonnaise is still right where I left it. It's like why I have $3 laundry detergent for the dog blankets. No reason to use the tide for dog blankets. Sorry Norman. I mentioned above that I was sure that my children were not the mayo thieves. My son doesn't really go in the fridge for anything but the salsa I made a gallon of in September with all of my excess heirloom tomatoes and serrano peppers. And my daughter has an OCD thing about the fridge and only uses things that are on "her" shelf. And while she does like mayonnaise, I get her "her" own bottles of Heinz Spicy mayo. She likes the siracha blend. So like any good mystery, they had rock solid alibis... Cut to the 52nd minute of this hour long episode of the MaccMayoMystery hour: I bring home an Impossible Whopper with fries and pink lemonade for Miss OCD last night. (It's her birthday, so I'll allow that junk food.) I then go through my routine of unpacking my stuff from work as she goes ahead and puts the whopper on a plate, compliments the lemonade's thirst quenching powers, and gets out a small bowl for the dipping sauce for her fries. I notice that she has the store brand mayo on the counter, along with some ketchup and seems to blending up her own rather than using the Heinz bottle on "her" shelf. I say to her: "Hey, do you know what happened to the other bottle of mayo?" And she answers, somewhat confused by my interrogation, "We ran out." I replied, "DUDE. I've been telling everybody for the last 24 hours that I lost a jar of mayo and I think I'm going crazy!" She giggled and told me that she needed the mayo-ketchup blend for her tater tots that she's been craving. I was relieved that I am not going crazy (yet), and I decided not to even bring up the fact that she is using things from the "dirty" shelves in the fridge. Apparently tater tots out rank OCD in her world, which is a big win to be honest. So there you have it. I went ahead and put a new jar of the good mayo back in the fridge (after making a tomato sandwich from one of the last ones of the season), comfortable that if it starts getting empty faster than I expected, I now know what is happening.
  20. First suggestion so far that I did NOT check.
  21. MILLIONS of extra viewers. As @Black Knight posted in the CNN article above, the Sunday game did an average of 27M viewers with a high of 29.2M. It was the highest rated TV program since the Super Bowl in February. Millions of additional, young and/or female viewers, which is incredibly valuable to advertisers. I tried to articulate this when I posted the other day about me just rolling with it because I'm fascinated by how big a deal it is, it's not an NFL thing. It's a broadcasters/network thing. They HAVE to make a big deal about anything and everything Taylor Swift. All of those extra millions (MILLIONS) of young viewers are worth a fortune in advertising dollars. If I were in charge of NBC, I would on-the-spot fire anybody who said, "We should probably dial back the Swift coverage because some NFL fans think it's distracting."
  22. If you do have to replace it, I recommend going for something above my $2.99, including the salt, price point.
  23. Per the internet, which I spent a little time looking at yesterday, salt will eventually corrode steel parts. Fancy ones that use steel put some kind of coating on the steel.
