Hi Carey: The Pats' success? Brady for sure. But, I look back at the superior team defense, plus the top-notch offensive line, plus the slot receivers (and, of course, Gronkowski)...and I see a total team. Oh yes, Brady pulled out those last 4-minute drives with laser passes. But it was really a total team effort.

Interesting. I watched the CSPAN coverage of the Senate vote on senior military promotions. Only three officers were up for consideration (out of the neary 400 on the list) One Senator (Tuberville) demonstrated the enormous legitimate (albeit frustrating) power to block consideration and promotion in what used to be a nearly automatic process (one vote on all names on the list). Imagine that...one Senator with the legit authority to prevent promotions. 😲

Ahh, the Boston Red Sox. Just consider...if they kept Eovaldi, had a healthy Chris Sale, and a healthy Trevor Story...they would have made the playoffs, then marched to the World Series. But, no. <<sigh>>☹️

<<sigh>> Another super TV show comes to an end. I will miss watching that office-full of techno-finance geniuses buy and sell large pieces of nation-states (or some such thing). I even liked trying to unravel those obscure references to movies, songs, etc. Oh well...back to that other super TV show: Battlebots! 🤑

Hmm...only one more episode in the entire series. I wonder how they are going to resolve the story lines. Prince gets elected? Axe just slinks back to England? Gads...I think not! Taylor (my favorite) decides to go backpacking in Europe? Anyway...we'll soon find out!

Ok...I need some guidance. I started Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. I did this because I liked her Station Eleven. First few chapters and the story is going nowhere. Lots of Brits moving to Canada, living off stipends, doing nothing significant. Does this story get better?

Hi EBK57...interesting idea. Open mic on all the players. Good idea, until a 2nd baseman misplays a grounder, throws wide of 2nd base in an attempt at a double play, but the runner slides past the base, the shortstop yells at the 2nd baseman, the 1st baseman yells at the ... oh, you get the idea.
