  1. She's done quite a lot but she was also Bathilda Bagshot in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Now I want to meet Judi from Tesco. And I want to bring a big empty box to a party to seem festive.
  2. Wow, what world is Pat Buchanan living in. There was so many things wrong with what he said - Nixon's mistake was being so indecisive about Watergate. THAT was his mistake? He resigned for the good of the country? And, Nixon got all the POWs back? Maybe I'm confusing MIA and POWs but not all the Vietnam soldiers have been accounted for yet.
  3. Wow. Just wow. http://www.avclub.com/article/conan-obrien-will-sing-monorail-song-during-live-s-207737?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=SocialMarketing&utm_campaign=LinkPreview%3A1%3ADefault
  4. I had to get up at 5 am and it took 45 minutes waiting online but I did it! I'm seeing BC in Hamlet next year!
  5. He just walked in - they left their door unlocked. So, you can't say handjob on PBS but you can say penis. Weird censuring.
  6. Judi Dench! Her messages on the phone answering machine were awesome.
  7. Wow - tie game. I would have let them be co-champs but I guess it's against the rules.
  8. FYI, Barnes and Noble has both the Dead's Man's Folly and The Big Four for $1.99 each for the nook version.
  9. I think she's scary because there's a part of me that believes she is a Slitheen. They are but since its Eastenders....it will go horribly horribly wrong.
  10. Well, you must be secure in your position if you get the audience full of your supporters. I don't think Campbell Brown did herself any good by going on the show. He didn't bring up the conflict of interest with her husband but did get her to say a few times that the donors are secret.
  11. Article in today's Washington Post about Better Know A District http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/reliable-source/wp/2014/07/31/what-congress-needs-to-know-about-colberts-better-know-a-district/?tid=hpModule_1f58c93a-8a7a-11e2-98d9-3012c1cd8d1e&hpid=z15
  12. I follow Eastenders on twitter so I tend to know most spoilers (they tend to blab) but both the return of Nick and Marcus were a surprise (except that we all figured out that Nick was alive). They didn't say a word. Though, I may be the only one who went MARCUS!!!
  13. When I left the movie theatre after seeing the 2001 version of Planet of the Apes, I could hear someone in the crowd singing "I hate every ape I see, from chimpan-a to chimpan-z". Though, now that line of Selma's ""I'll always remember you, but not from your films." always gets to me.
  14. Aw, according to Wikipedia, Ian had a crush on Derek back then - as he says it was "a passion that was undeclared and unrequited".
  15. I guess its a really big deal - Nick's return was on the front page of the Daily Mail. Heh, British soaps aren't that different from American - just because you are dead doesn't mean you stay dead. I don't like it though - why make Dot suffer like that. I can't believe that Sharon and Marcus were stupid enough to meet in the Square. Back in the US, Marcus has already stolen the Mitchell money but only Sam knows about it so far. Peggy, Grant and Phil don't have a clue yet.
  16. Going by that NYT article, these are the final two Poirot episodes that PBS will be showing. Heh, if I remember my Agatha Christie history, she hated Poirot when she wrote Curtain so maybe she just didn't care enough to work hard on the book.
  17. Someone posted the entire panel on you tube - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugEFwc5bMB8 Its worth watching - unless I guess you really really hate The Hobbit :-)
  18. We got to see the Orlando Bloom episode the other day in DC. And, they are actually showing it again right now.
  19. I finished re-reading The Remorseful Day and there is no mention of what happened to the car - I guess it's considered part of the contents of the flat. And every single time I read the line where Morse dies, I cry. Colin gets to me every single time. Curse you Dexter!!
  20. So...not a big shocker. Nick is alive.
  21. Here's all the info on Hamlet including dates and ticket prices http://hamlet.barbican.org.uk
  22. That must have been one great potatoe scene if he got a job on Midwife from it. Hee, delivering his daughter's Siamese twins - that's so midwife.
  23. It will be interesting to see if they say something on Monday now that the news is out. When I saw the original schedule I had assumed they were just waiting another season to show that last episode.
  24. Unless there is another reason Acorn got to show it, you are so right. But I think the money they will lose in contributions will be more than DVD sales. It's nuts - we buy the shows on iTunes and the DVDs anyway to see the unedited versions.
  25. Wow! Marcus has returned.
