  1. There is no “better” version of Rene. But making her a redundant version of two characters on the show sounds about Arrow. Trying a second version of a popular character is one thing - and a thing that arguably failed - but a second version of a character that most don't care about (on a good day) seems excessively stupid. But since it is Arrow and BS stupid is probably the way they will go. One day this show will accidentally not live up to my worst expectations. For me the only better Rene is a Rene who is no longer on the show - dead/alive - don't care - just make it go away. And he can do his penance by taking Curtis with him.
  2. I would suggest the ratings for this season say otherwise, but sure whatever, LP. I'll be here for Regina's happiness when the characters she murdered and tortured all get their happy endings back. Until then, FU show on this idea that a show about hope is about Regina getting her happiness without ever taking a whit of real responsibility for the damage her selfish, self-centered, bullshit caused. As someone who was thinking of coming back to see the characters I actually cared about during the shows better days, the fact that the final episodes will be all about Regina and her "happiness" have pretty much convinced me to take a hard pass and just catch the scenes with characters I like via clips. And possibly only if those clips do NOT include Regina since I, for one, do not care about her finding her happiness at all.
  3. Here's hoping - it seems it was EK he spoke to (with DR) which means Curtis is back. Which sucks. A lot. Not the least of which because it likely keeps Felicity tied to him instead of her getting actual, real friends and her own company. I do not want to have to fast forward Felicity - but my hate for Curtis my require it. I really, really do not want to hate half of the characters on the show next year too. Wasn't the rumor that they needed to lose some of the cast due to cost? It doesn't seem like BP would do it (even if CH only comes back part-time). Or did they fix the money issue by losing WM and MG? I don't think even stellar writers could make me care about team noobie after this season, so I almost would rather they had gone.
  4. Nope - I am sure evil Earth 2 BS will survive - after all Sarah is coming to Arrow to bond with her over Quentin's death. Since there will be no reason for BS to stay in Star City without her fake daddy she will go with fake sis Sarah to LOT where she can be fully redeemed by the love of said same fake sister and use her screaming for good instead of evil. The End.
  5. So he was bullied and that made him a killer. Was this the special episode of the season? Bullying is the issue they are addressing? Like the gun episode from last season? And that is why it sucked so, so bad? WTH was the point of this torture? But more importantly - Die, Curtis, Die. Die painful, die slow, just die. I will never forgive this show for thinking Felicity needed to apologize to this waste of space character. Please tell me these writers have new things to do next season.
  6. Apparently, per the writer, it is because Felicity needs a friend that we are getting this mess. Never mind that we cannot get a scene between her and DR where they exchange more than two words and it would actually be interesting and have some emotional resonance to see those two try and negotiate a friendship given the situation. Nope - we cannot have interesting, nice things.
  7. Are you keeping count? You aren't drinking every time they say that, right? I feel like we should call someone if you are.
  8. Okay, but seriously - this has to be this bad on purpose, right? They cannot accidentally have made an episode this bad, can they?
  9. Oh, Lord - make it stop. Can we get some more commercials, please?
  10. Additional, unneeded confirmation that Tweedle dumb and Tweedle dumber don't have an ounce of charisma between them? And because it can never be put into the universe too often: DIE CURTIS, DIE.
  11. I do not doubt your guess at all. What makes the whole thing even more ridiculous is I would have had far, far less difficulty believing both of these if this was Chase we were dealing with - but with captain 3D? Nope. Nope. Nope. Hell, if they had given me a scene with Felicity going toe-to-toe with Chase I would have cheered. But Diaz and Felicity? Ugh.
  12. It would still be hard for me to accept, but maybe he goes after their kid and that is why Lyla shows up and Diggle goes after him. As stupid as the possibility of Diaz being able to get Lyla is, the idea that his dumb ass can outsmart Felicity is even more ridiculous. But given this season's writing both are probably true. I am not usually this paranoid, but I keep thinking about how Aaron Sorkin wrote the West Wing into a bad, bad place on his way out the door - and wondering if something similar is going on here.
  13. Hope this shows up - will let someone with a better version post in the Spoiler Thread. From Twitter, this is for episode 22 - The Ties that Bind: I think I might just let this be the last episode of the season given what we have heard about episode 23.
  14. I feel like I read WM has another show in development - and I think it is with GB and another network. Although it was announced late last year so it may be DOA. She has worked with GB on several shows, so perhaps she wants to focus more on developing new shows and writing and it was amicable and she is moving to something that will be announced soon. Part of it could also be financial in that they can no longer support two show runners. It would also be a somewhat lower risk way for Beth to get hands on experience - if the show goes off air next year it will be more from age than anything else.
  15. I am pretty sure SA and Carina were friends (or at least friendly) before she even knew Emily (I would assume they met when he was on Vampire Diaries). In a Tweet or Instagram post or something (way back in season 1 - 2), one of them even mentioned that SA introduced Carina to Emily because he thought they would hit it off. I think SA also knew Aisha first - he was on her show before Emily was IIRC. Not sure about Jarret or the others and Emily may ultimately be closer to them now, but I SA was at least friendly (if not friends) with several of them prior to Emily.
  16. I think if they have taken the names off and given someone the actions/motives of the two teams and asked if they were equally valid, they would have gotten the feedback they needed. Also - I don't think they should be as unaware as they claim they are - you cannot pretend that tracking someone by having them eat tracking devices as no big deal one season and then pretend that it is worthy of being viewed as a profound betrayal the next. The same character acting as if she has experienced the highest possible betrayal by being lied to - while simultaneously lying (again) to the same people is just poor writing. But I am not surprised they missed it because MG seems to believe we should all watch and be happy and at the end he will tell us what we how we were supposed to have seen things and it will all be fine. Which is nuts. I also think it was exacerbated by the acting - OTA was much more reserved in their portrayal vs the noobies who just kept coming across as petulant whiners who only cared about their egos. They should have stepped in here and told certain people to tone it way, way down. What makes even less sense to me now is that if they were going to remove Diggle from Oliver's side anyway, why not have him be one of the three that originally left? If they intended this to be a both sides are equal view they needed to have balance in terms of the - for lack of a better term - "value" of the teams. Did he not notice in Civil War that it was not the lead characters vs the supporting characters - but a balance of long term, well loved characters split between the two sides? Even if I have a preference between the two positions, I have never actively rooted for the other side to disappear forever. Which is not the case with MG version.
  17. Perhaps David started counting from the episode where Diggle started acting weird and the whole hood issue seemed to come up again? So two episodes ago + six to go would be the eight he keeps referencing. Or he, like many of us, finds the whole story line so stupid it seems even longer than it is.
  18. Did the panel happen already? She seems to have gotten quite a bit of one-on-one time with DR. Which could be the case - DR does like to share.
  19. This X 1,000,000+ Then again it seems NTA is sticking around - so the real villains of this season will be back anyway. If someone has to die I much prefer that Lance get carted off to an asylum (his fake daughter can go with him to sit by his bedside) and one of the three noobies dies. There are too many masks and it pulls down the quality of everything - including the fight scenes - on the show.
  20. This show is exhausting - and not in a good, fun way. I hate - and want a painful death for a majority of characters. I think the show has finally broken me. If they are all so sure they can do a better job than Oliver they should take their Halloween costumes to another city and have at it. As much as I have not always enjoyed Oliver's habit of taking the blame for everything bad that happens, it is a hell of a lot better and more mature than these asses who blame everyone else for their bad choices/decisions. At least DR and SA were up to the acting challenge - but even that does not disguise the fact that this fight is beyond stupid and out of the blue. I now assume the writers fill out a bunch of cards with random ideas at the beginning of the season and then draw from then randomly to write each episode. And whichever one wrote the idea of Curtis having a love life is the first one who should be fired. The only way any of this is worth it is if Curtis survived being shot so that later his new boyfriend can stab him to death in this sleep. Repeatedly - to be 100% sure it takes.
  21. I would guess it is because she was also the inventor of what is now known as Spread Spectrum Technology. During WWII, she and George Anthiel used the invention to developed a "Secret Communications System" which was an unbreakable code that prevented classified messages from being intercepted by the Nazis. I have no idea if each show used this (haven't seen either) but she was a fascinating and brilliant woman.
  22. I did wonder when the photo was posted if he got beaten up in prison. Pretty typical TV thing but I don't expect much from the writers.
  23. I think this might be what was being referred to:
  24. He is in the second row of names. I think this is the first real confirmation - there were rumors he was in talks a year or so ago, but then nothing ever seemed to come of it. I saw some spec he might be playing a member of the Black Order - but that seems to be driven by the fact that we don't know who is playing any of those characters yet, not any real knowledge.
