I hadn't even thought about that! LOL.

Yes, but someone has to go out to clean.

I think the fact that Paradise is so extravagant with the big houses and cars is the point. They COULD have included more people if they went with apartment buildings and fewer cars, but that's not what they wanted. We get the impression that three years in the place is a little underpopulated, so everyone has what they want (except for Wii consoles) at least for now. We need to jump ahead a few years. My prediction for next season: It will take X years to find Teri, when they return they will notice things are different. Jeremy will take over from Harry (peacefully or not). Presley will be the First Lady, but she won't call herself that. As for what makes the community "Work" there is going to have be be zero toleration for refusing vaccines. Both for the known things like measles and covid, and also for any new things that are going to occur in a closed system. Also, if you bring new people in, the kids will have no immunity. One of the many reasons the ban on pets is stupid, among the mental health benefits of pets they also help children develop an immune system.

It seems a little convenient that Trent had to impersonate a librarian (a job that requires education, but can maybe be faked) instead of a surgeon or something like that. And that the original librarian wife wasn’t something similar. I could see him impersonating a mechanic or construction worker who maintains the McMansions.

That’s a great explanation. I’ve also handwaved X just taking off in the plane, I think he did a pre-flight check offscreen. What I can’t explain is how the fuel hasn’t gone bad. Unless there is a little refinery somewhere?

Who is the second person? Someone new?

It seemed weird that a community of 25,000 would need that many security people. Even if everyone was carefully selected, Sinatra has serious trust issues. Are the agents supposed to protect Paradise from the Outside, or just the President and Sinatra from those inside?
-
Another reason why Morgan Freeman is the best fictional President Ever: In Deep Impact, he selected the engineers and scientists, but also artists and writers. He also randomly chose a bunch of people based on Social Security Numbers to keep things balanced. In the case of Paradise, it looks like the spouses and children of those selected for their skills are the random elements.

X isn't wearing glasses, so either he has a lifetime supply of contact lenses, has had corrective eye surgery, or his vision is not that poor, just not good enough to be a commercial pilot.

You are going to have to treat your SEALS very well or they will take over.
-
Yet he could become a secret service agent?
-
I was wondering about the Worker's Coverall in the glass case at the Library, that must have been something Trent added.

Aren't there already a bunch of doomsday bunkers in the US already? The other billionaires would use those.

I'm very biased here, but bicycles are the ideal vehicle for this situation. An analog or even electric an bike can outlast a car. For those who can't or don't want to walk or bike you can have electric golf carts. In terms of the class structure, Sinatra was being served by a maid!! I wonder how she got on the approved list. Or if Sinatra snuck her in because god forbid Sinatra would have to make her own coffee. Coffee! Hope they can grow some. I can live without alcohol, but coffee is non-negotiable.

X did shoot two other agents. I think non-fatally, like in the shoulder or something? He didn't face any consequences. X is a good, even heroic person, I don't want him to have moral injury of killing two guys who were just following orders.

They have to save that Reveal for Season 2!

Jeremy is showing more aptitude for leadership than Vice President Guy (Can't remember his name). I can see him as the future President/Mayor/Whatever of Paradise. Yes. And the cars. Those huge cars. There is NO reason to have those in a climate-controlled environment.

I'm listening right now! Thank you for the recommendation. Was that the version on Cal's Mixed Tape? CMIIW, but were all the siong covers this season done with female artists? I'm not saying that;s good or bad, just interesting.

Jane may be my favourite character besides X on this show. Do not f*ck with Holly Hobbie. I remember your prediction! Great call. This episode was exquisite.

Lucy looks healthy. She must have gotten used to eating fake meat.

This is fascinating! Thank you. Bee drones seem like more trouble than they are worth. Why not just have some real bees? Also, Torabi must realize that pets are an important tool to support people’s emotional health. True, there are robot pets that are used in places like nursing homes, but they are not the same thing. Pets also help children develop their immune system and resistance to allergies. If they can support a bunch of huge electric SUVs, they can manage a few dogs and cats, so long as most are spayed. It does make sense that the people have a vegetarian or vegan diet.

I’ve seen so many End of The World scenarios, but this was so visceral. The last call between X and Teri ended me. Still confused about how there still seems to be cell or radio service, but maybe the blue thing didn’t wipe out everything?

Did they specify whether Cal was Democratic or Republican? His Dad told him to choose the party based on what he was running for. I’m reminded of 24 where they kept the party of the President deliberately vague. In any case, Paradise could not have been completed without a lot of government money, no matter how rich Sinatra and Cal’s family were.

For all his youth and Bro-ness, I think Cal was actually a competent POTUS compared to a certain Real-World example. The flashbacks do show him preparing for the upcoming Apocalyptic Event. My question is exactly at what point did he become a puppet of Sinatra and others? Maybe once they were in the Cave, Sinatra became the one with all the resources, so she became the one in control.
