  1. So glad this show is getting another season.
  2. I thought this would be on Netflix. Or is that the English version?
  3. Apple has put out some great stuff this year!
  4. I do like the interaction between Ed, Miles, and the Russian crew. Ed went from considering Russians his enemy to his friends, even if the Americans and Russians down on Earth are more like Frenimies in Season 4.
  5. That’s what I’m afraid of. AFAIK, the show has not been officially renewed yet.
  6. Question: both Bash and Leo decide to become General Practitioners. Can a doc just change from emergency medicine to a family practice? Canadian medical bureaucracy is never that simple, it’s one of the reasons why Canada has such a serious shortage of family doctors.
  7. I will miss this show. June said that she signed a contract with the Cleveland hospital. What are the consequences if she doesn’t take the job. We have all admired how Bash keeps it together under stressful situations. We can see him in places like the Ukraine or Gaza. But maybe he is ready to try something new. I can see him happy with his clinic and going off sometimes to serve with some aid organization. It doesn’t have to be one or the other. Glad that Mag’s mom came around and is talking to Bash. Canadian TV is putting out some good things, like Transplant and Sort Of.
  8. I always appreciate shows that that can be sad without being maudlin. Transplant has walked that line so well this season. June is all over the place. She did light up when she looked after the abandoned baby girl. If this was a more cliched show, June would have adopted the first baby who came her way. (I'm looking at you, the Good Doctor) Sensitive question: White people adopting black (or other POC) babies is a fraught topic. What about the reverse?
  9. And the USS Come By Chance. The USS Montreal has a nice ring to it. I do like your choice of Canadian Indigenous place names. Here’s to the USS Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump, the best name for a place ever.
  10. I can see Bash serving with Doctors without Boarders.
  11. Hazma has been great this season. I think it was assumed that Bash would take Mag’s job, but Bash didn’t dear ask about it. As sad as this episode was, I did enjoy the visit to beautiful Old Montreal.
  12. Agree with many of the comments here. I think Mars would have been important wheather they have Goldilocks or not. One of the many lessons of our current fossil fuel dependence in that any society should NEVER base its' entire economy on a single resource. Would he nations of Earth even want the Unobtanaium now? I could see Earth refusing to buy this stuff out of spite. Jupiter and Saturn have SO MANY MOONS. Most of the Moons. Some have atmospheres! Some might have life! Let's go there. Its' as if the FAMverse got to a certain point, and stagnated there. Just like us. But on Mars in the 00's, not the Moon in the 70's.
  13. A couple of observation: When Aleida drove into the Motel's parking lot, the sign said "Free WiFi". Also, Aleida's car and the other cars in the parking lot looked a little different and a little smaller than those in our own timeline.
  14. So where is Ed in 2012? I don't see how getting Goldie to Earth would end exploration on Mars and elsewhere. All the Iridium would help space travel. Not the best season, but that was tense, with all the overrides and then overirrding the overrides, Its overrides all the way down. Goldilocks being successfully heisted was the last outcome I expected. Good fake-out with Dani. Tiny detail: when Matho was doing the Perp Walk out of the Molly Cobb Centre, there was a photo of the Cairina Nebula
  15. Misdirection. I thought Kelly was done for when she promised Alex she would be back in a few days, and she seems to have made it back just fine. After Ed's shenanigans I think Dani will have had quite enough of Mars.
  16. As others have mentioned, one issue with this show is that most of the new characters aren't compelling, the exception being not-Elon Musk Dev. I also find Lee interesting and I'm glad he's getting a character ark this season. Miles and Sam are boring, and Kelly is more than a bit of a Mary Sue. Alex has the potential to grow into someone super-interesting depending on the casting of teen/adult Alex. He’s carrying the baggage of being the first Mars Baby. I am also intrigued by the undercover agents and their "Enhanced Interrogation" methods. Irina continues to be shady AF. Is she really behind the assassination of Sergei, or was Sergei’s warning to Margo a misdirection?
  17. it's weird that he had a wife who he seemed just to be going through the motions with. The tragedy is Wife may have genuinely loved Sergei. Sergei did seem to be living a good life though: a house, a wife, a job, a Prius. If not happy, he was a realist who accepted his life. The only OG character that got a happy ending was Ellen: A two-term POTUS who settled down with her life-long love after advancing both Space exploration and Gay rights.
  18. Oof. Between this show and For All Mankind this has been a brutal weekend of TV watching.
  19. One interesting thing about The Great Asteroid Heist is that I'm not routing for one side or the other. Everyone (except maybe the ever-virtuous Kelly) is being greedy and short-sighted, and perhaps overestimating the value of Goldilocks. So I gather the issue with Lee's wife is getting her out of North Korea, not getting her to Mars. With Dev on board that part should be easy. Helios is a private company, Dev doesn't owe anybody an explanation as to the passenger manifest. I'm waiting for the reveal that the Wife is a genius engineer/scientist or evil mastermind or something. Poor Margo is going to be devastated. If she and Aleida can salvage the Goldilocks mission in Earth’s favour, I can see President Gore granting Margo a pardon on the condition she leave the US for a non M7 nation and refrain from working for any national space program. Margo can follow Sergei’s example and teach engineering in Brazil, Canada, China or somewhere else. She would be a fantastic teacher and mentor.
  20. Worst McD’s ad ever. I wonder if any execs from McDonald’s watch the show.
  21. Joel K is a really good actor! Even though he's been a petulant dick this season, I still want him to win. It gives me great pain to say this, but Dani is doing a less than stellar command job, Happy Valley is in disarray. She may have known about the black market for awhile, but let it go because folks need their creature comforts and Dani is focused on the bigger picture. The Miles interrogation scene showed a hint of what the FAMVerse 24 might look like! Although it would be 24 plus 37 minutes because Mars.
  22. My comments just got eaten! Oh well, there goes my thoughts. I haven't cried over a tv episode in a long time. The final scene gutted me. Sergei and Margo finally acknowledged their feelings for each other. I so wanted them to go to Brazil and eat hamburgers together. 🥲 Good casting for Aleida's kids, the girl in particular looks just like her. Star Trek in the FAMversese. Three series and The Wrath of Khan: https://www.inverse.com/entertainment/for-all-mankind-star-trek-shows
  23. Operation “This will end badly” is go.
  24. IIRC, there was one guy who looked like his forehead was recovering from a burn.
  25. We can partially handwave the whole car issue by looking at our own timeline: many electric cars look a lot like their ICE counterparts unless you look closely. It's also possible that in the FAM timeline people figured out how to swap out engines for batteries in the existing car inventory. I'm personally more interested in how other transportation would look in the FAMverse: Are the airplanes electric now? Is the US covered with high-speed rail? Are there electric ships on the oceans? As @PurpleTentacle suggested, technology advances in one area do not equal advancement in another, some things just stagnate. The technology used in the FAMverse's plasma drive Mars Ships may not trickle down to the majority of Earth, or it not distributed evenly. A billionaire like Dev may have some super advanced electric car, a high school teacher like Sergei wouldn't
