Well I think we’ve ruled out suicide.

The President is more like a mayor. If I had to live in a bunker, this is one of the better ones! Of course we are only three years in, at some point there could be a rebellion or pandemic or something. Robinson mentioned something suggesting that they will be down there for at least a Century. So they need babies, but maybe whatever caused the End Of The World caused a fertility crises? As for the logistics, what is up with the SUV sized cars? They must all be electric because how would they extract and refine gas? They cars must be limited to the security staff. Everyone else must be walking. Traffic congestion doesn’t seem to be a problem. What is powering the bunker? A huge nuclear reactor?

Weird question: is a security detail allowed to use the facilities while on duty? IIRC that has been an issue with the family of a certain RL POTUS.
-
Both are excellent. The stoic, silent Secret Service Agent is such a cliche, yet SKB brings so much humanity and depth in what we've seen so far. POTUS Bro is weirdly sympathetic, he may be smarmy but he isn't stupid and I think he is suffering real guilt about his actions.

I was trying to place that actress! Thank you. Dude said his stomach was bothering him. And he took a nap while on duty. Maybe he was drugged?

I’m assuming that the cars are electric? It’s weird that First Son Not Timothee Chalament is allowed to wander around after his dad was killed. Could Cal have killed himself?

One Hundred Years of Solitude - S1, your thoughts
marinw replied to seth's topic in One Hundred Years Of Solitude
To be honest, I read the book so long ago I don't remember. I agree that the show lost focus during the last few episodes. I enjoyed the magic realism aspect more than the political stuff. At first I wondered about the logistics of getting all the things up the mountain, but a few episodes in I stopped thinking about it. -
One Hundred Years of Solitude - S1, your thoughts

I loved it! I assume that there will be a second season? It ended at a weird place. I read the book...a hundred years ago LOL. I don't see why they had to tie the poor guy to a tree for years! Doesn't seem like the best way of treating his mental illness. The difference between Macando from the first to second episode was jarring. At that rate of change, I was expecting a warp drive by episode four. -
Great finale. Not sure why the uniforms didn’t change with the ships. The rift kind of reminded me of the ring in The Expanse.

Security officer. So where does that leave Shax? Right now his duties seem similar to Worf’s before he took over from Tasha.
-
Does anyone know what the Tamarian crew member does? Nitpick: if Tendi and T'Lynn are senior science officers, shouldn't they be at the senior officer's briefing? Fair point. Those scenes with Shax were dark! I wish we could see him with T'Ana one more time, it's one of the sweetest and most unexpected pairings in Trek history. I do love the sassy nurse.

No red alert with all the things going on?
-
Everybody should be disqualified.

I could not spend an entire year wearing the same outfit! They could buy new clothes with T’Lynn’s earnings. I wonder why the red padd isn’t under lock and key. I would think that letting yourself be influenced by something from a parallel universe would violate a bunch of directives. Or security on the Cerritos is very lax.

I can’t remember not wanting a show to end so much.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I think it would be psychologically healthy for both CK and Miyage to lose the tournament. (if it even keeps going after what happened to Kwon). The "Win at all costs" BS is more about the Sensies projecting their own ambitions on the much younger Karatekas.

I'm proud of Mariner in this episode. She was compassionate yet firm, showing some real leadership.
-
Kwon was a live-action anime character.
-
Freeman : “They (the gods) congregated with mortals.” Ransome: “I’ve been there.”
-
I may be alone here, but I kind of liked Kwon. His hair was amazing. If the show went on longer, I could see Kwon having a redemption arc and joining Miyagi Do.
-
I stand corrected. I am shocked, SHOCKED, that the Russians would dope.🙄
-
Was the Irish team actually guilty of doping, or did Silver manage to alter the results because he is evil? I’m not looking for realism, but could the karatakas please wear mouth guards to protect their pretty Hollywood mouths? That brawl was spectacular.

All motivational speeches and zero technical instruction.

I read that the actress who plays Zara is a Taekwondo champion. Which is not the same as Karate, but whatever. Tall CK guy looks like a live action anime character

I kind of hope that some other dojo than Miyagi or CK wins. It would be a good lesson, to learn that winning isn’t everything, having a great experience is important too. kodos to the fight choreographers, are those the actual actors or stunt doubles?
